i used the following technique to Select multiple items from DropDownList into TextBox with No duplicates, however i dont think it is the most proper way, any ideas. pressing again with same value selected choose another value from DDL and press button

I'm trying to use the ListBox html helper in a simple form.
verhuurPrijzenLst is a simple list that gets put into the ListBox, I think I need "MultiSelectList", but I cannot use it (MVC framework needed)?
I don't know exactly how to do that ( bin folder and @inherits ? )
So it's nice to have a helper at hand, but if you cannot use it properly without using the MVC framework, that is a pity.

On one (aspx) page I have a GridView (GridView has multiple pages). After a user selects a row/record and clicks "edit" he's redirected to another (.aspx) page where he edits the selected record via DetailsView. fter clicking update on DetailsView he's redirected back to the page containing the GridView.What is the simplest/shortest way that the updated record is automatically selected on the Gridview (e.g. at Page_Load event)?
View 7 RepliesSo I am using a formview that gets in Update mode with a bunch of values from a sqldatasource --- but I want to fill a couple dropdowns with data from the database --- but I cannot figure out how to bind the data to the dropdown box FIRST and then select the value in that dropdown box... but I keep getting an error that the Selected value is not a part of the dropdown (I assume because the sqldatasource is trying to bind BEFORE I can get the dropdown box bound).
IE -- when I load my values, lets say a 'Crop' comes back as 'Corn' ... I want to download the available crops from the database (ie. corn, beans, wheat, okra, etc.) and then set the selected value as CORN.... SO HOW do I get the dropdown filled BEFORE I try and bind the selected value?
I have a grid view that is dynamically created.In which every cell in the girdview has a 2 textbox (cTxtboxQty,ctxtWorkOrder) and 2 label.
When user click on the cell, a pop up come out and user are able to change the text inside the cell and click save.After that the pop up close and changed data immediately reflected on the screen.
My problem is:
After my data are changed and updated to database on the pop up page and having it post back to the parent page , my dynamically created textbox in gridview retain old value even new value has been assigned to it.
This sound very weird but i have no idea how to solve this.

I have tested many times and find out that it might be the page hold the old value in memory, so that even we have updated the textbox value, after postback, it still keep and show the old value?
I have one UpdatePanel which contains search criteria controls for a GridView.
The GridView is in another UpdatePanel.
I have a reset button in the search criteria UpdatPanel which resets all the search controls to their default values. However when I click this button for some reason my GridView RowDataBound method fires.
This is slowing the page down when the reset button is clicked. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to stop it. I haven't posted the code and explained it in plain english for ease of reading.

I have an inventory page with a gridview that shows 1 item per record, each item starts with a checkbox in the gridview. Currently users can select multiple records and hit the order button and everything has worked well. Now I have multiple pages in my gridview, and if a user selects a few records from the first page, and then goes to the second page, all the records (checked checkboxes) disappear from the first page.

I've got a repeater which is placed inside an updatepanel. When the user enters a new value, the repeater is updated without a postback. Is it possible to get the row that was updated in JQuery so that I can place an effect on it to make the change less subtle? For example, I'd like to fade a new color in on just the row that was changed.

The partial view control has just a label and textbox control. When I view the source html generated it correctly has a single form control around all the multiple labels and textboxes. My single submit button, inside the form though does not send any of the form data back to the controller though when using FormCollection.

Where Preview is a property on my page.The catch is that I'm creating this in Javascript on a new page in an onclick event. On the server side, I'm able to reference the new page via this property but for some reason when the page is postback the variable is getting set to the default initialized value and not to the value that I set in my page, i.e Preview = string. When I postback a second time then the page will be updated with the value I set.I could perhaps move the code to the Init but I need to get values from controls to Initialize this property.

when postback fires through ajax then I view the page source from browser,
It is the same which loads first time.

I started using the awesome chart controls with my asp.net apps recently and so far they've been nothing short of breath taking. Right now I have a weird problem, on the first load of my page, the chart control appears correctly and the tooltip is correct, however, when I update it with new data, the chart displays correctly, but the tooltips are for the previous set of data.
I hope this makes sense. The first time I load the chart, the pie chart segments and tooltips are correct, after a partial postback (to get the new data), the pie chart segments are correct but the tooltips are for the previous data set.
Basically once the tooltips are set the first time, they can't be updated after that without a full page postback.

Anyone else noticed this behaviour and have a work around?
Currently my only workaround is to check for a partial postback and not render the tooltip, which I'd rather not do as the tooltip display actual statistical data as opposed to the pie itself (which uses percentages).
I have a gridview which is ShowSelectButton = "False"
I use

to select a gridviewrow but it causes a postback whenever I select a row. Is there a way to allow selecting a gridview row which will not cause a postback??
I couldn't find something similar in SO.
In ASP.NET, is there any way that on cue I can cause a partial postback with Javascript in an UpdatePanel?
I tried __doPostBack() but it does a full postback. I can trick it with a dummy button and fire click() then handle the partial postback that way, but I want a more graceful way than trickery.
How do I detect whether a postback is a partial postback from any of my Update Panels?
