ADO.NET :: Stored Procedure And Decimal / Doubles
Nov 25, 2010
My web page allows customers to search products by selecting criteria. In this example, they can choose a height range (we'll use the example between height 2.00 and 2.99). The issue is, the database returns a results which has a height of 3.00 (which is obviously not between 2.00 and 2.99) I am using a stored procedure.
[Code]....
My webpage passes the paramters for @Pr and @Pr2 (which are of type double) to the stored procedure (@Pr = 2.00, @Pr2 = 2.99). My c# code (simplified - FYI, request.QuerysString["p"] returns the string value 2)
[Code]....
You can see from the C# I have commented 2 lines for debugging where I've used the dqsPr variable and where I've typed the number in manually. Regardless of sending either the variable or the actual 'number', the results remain the same (it shows a product which has a height of 3.00). If I change the Stored procedure (for debugging purposes only) Select statement to SELECT DISTINCT PartNumber, Positions, Switch, Post, Profile FROM View WHERE Height BETWEEN 2.00 AND 2.99 ORDER BY Type ASC it works fine. So, it must be due to the passing of the paramaters via ado.net?

Initially, I have tried to use stored procedure. But I changed my mind and preferred to call sql query in codebase with command text. However, it stills tries to find initially-called stored procedure (which is neither called or exists).I think that it is related caching. But I tried it with different browsers it did not work.What might be the reason?

I am using Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2008 and have added a SQL datasource to my form.
When I configure the datasource, I choose my connection string which looks like this in my webconfig:
<connectionStrings>
<add
name="PSFSPRD_ConnectionString"
connectionString="Data
The database I am using has a schema called EQB and as such, my stored procedures are named as EQB.usp_SelectFunds, EQB.usp_SelectAccount, etc.
On the select tab of the Configure Data Source screen, I choose to use a stored procedure. The dropdown shows my stored procedures, however, the schema name does not show up in front of the stored procedures in the drop down. I see only usp_SelectFunds, usp_SelectAccount, etc.
I select one of the stored procedures and when I click TEST, I get the message that the stored procedure is not found. If I instead choose to use a SQL statement instead on the configuration screen and enter EXEC EQB.usp_SelectFunds and click TEST, it works fine.
Why are my stored procedures not showing up correctly in the stored procedure drop down and how can I fix this?

I'll use the Math.Round function, but there happends something strange. If i have a numer like 10.0012356 he adds with round(10.0012356) only 10, and not the wanted 10.00 But if i have 10.534, he adds 10.53, so then its ok. How can i change that? I use this code right now:
double PriceIn = PriceExcl * ((BTW + 100)/100);
lblPriceEx.Text = "€" + Math.Round(PriceExcl, 2).ToString();
lblPriceIn.Text = "(" + Math.Round(PriceIn, 2).ToString() + "incl.)";

Given the code below, how do I compare a List of objects's values with a test value? I'm building a geolocation application. I'll be passing in longitude and latitude and would like to have the service answer back with the location closest to those values. I started down the path of converting to a string, and formatting the values down to two decimal places, but that seemed a bit too ghetto, and I'm looking for a more elegant solution.
public class Location : IEnumerable
{
public string label { get; set; }
public double lat { get; set; }
public double lon { get; set; }
//Implement IEnumerable
public IEnumerator GetEnumerator()
{
return (IEnumerator)this;
}
}
[HandleError]
public class HomeController : Controller
{
private List<Location> myList = new List<Location>
{
new Location {
label="Atlanta Midtown",
lon=33.657674,
lat=-84.423130},
new Location {
label="Atlanta Airport",
lon=33.794151,
lat=-84.387228},
new Location {
label="Stamford, CT",
lon=41.053758,
lat=-73.530979}, ...
}
public static int Main(String[] args)
{
string inLat = "-80.987654";
double dblInLat = double.Parse(inLat);
// here's where I would like to find the closest location to the inLat
// once I figure out this, I'll implement the Longitude, and I'll be set
}

I was read your post: "Export GridView to Excel in ASP.Net with Formatting using C#" and is very useful. That code works perfect. But I need create a new format for a specific column in my sheet before to export it. For example:My DataTable have a column with decimal numbers and I'm trying reduce the tenths for each number.I want this: 2,874444 ----> 2,87 for a specific range. In this case I need it for all numbers in the column 13 or well said for the Column called N in Excel. Only reduce two tenths.
I used:
xlWorkSheet.Range["N"+h,"N"+h].NumberFormat = "0.00";
And no works (h is for rows, N is the column. Into a foreach).

I'm trying to execute this statement every minute with SQL Agent, I have it set up as a job:
[Code]....
It's trying to update a column which data type is set to decimal. Just so you know what I really need out of it, here is an example:
[Code]....
The answer of which should add on 0.5 to the original value. If I were to use the increase value of 60 which then becomes 60/60 it will work.I'm dividing by 60 because the increase value is per hour so I make it smaller to get per minute value. Why is it doing this?

Some values are returning 2.0 but I need it to be 2.00 as this is a money value that is displayed to the web page.
I am doing:
Math.Round(value, 2);
Is there a way to force it to 2 numbers after the decimal?

How Can I do regex for this?

Is there a better way to do "input forms" in WebForms?I always end up with code like this:
Double d = 0; // chuckle inside
if(Double.TryParse(myNumberTextField.Text, out d))
{
myObject.DoubleVal = d;
}
Is there a better way to process free-form "numeric" input.

I have migrated a database from one server to another and following the migration had an orphaned user (WholeSystem_webuser), which has been fixed using the auto_fix option of sp_change_users_login
•The WholeSystem_webuser account is used by ASP.NET pages to connect to the database and run stored procedures.
•I can log in to Management Studio as WholeSystem_webuser OK and execute the sp's from there
•When I try to run my ASP.NET page it was saying “Can’t find stored procedure [procedure name]”
•If I drop the sp and create it as [dbo].[GetContactsCount] instead of [WholeSystem_ webuser]. [GetContactsCount] it says “The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object 'GetContactsCount', database 'WholeSystem', schema 'dbo'.” (which is what I’d expect as the connection string is using the WholeSystem_webuser account??) –does that show that the web user is logging into the database OK??
•If I try and configure the SqlDataSource in VWD to see what it is looking at though, it won’t let me get beyond the connection string window and says “Default schema could not be retrieved for this connection”
•I tried setting up a new login/user/connection string but still get the
“Default schema could not be retrieved for this connection” error
IN SQL Server:
•Users mapped to the login WholeSystem_webuser - WholeSystem_webuser, default schema dbo
•User WholeSystem_webuser has default schema dbo and db_dataread and db_datawrite permissions
•There is a schema dbo whose owner is dbo, and a schema WholeSystem_webuser whose owner is WholeSystem_webuser
