AJAX :: AsyncFileupload Control Is Not Working On Server When Upload A Large File?
Jan 23, 2011
My problem is Asyncfileupload control is working fine when i debug the application and upload large file...but when i run this from iis it only upload file less then 5 kb. why is that so?? i did try adding Httpruntime maxRequestLength="4096" i tried to find on search but no help... did m i mising any settings..??
am trying to use the AsyncFileUpload control in ajax toolkit to upload a picture file, save the file on a location on the server's filesystem and display the picture file back to the client system. I have both the image and AsyncFileUpload controls inside an updatepanel but its seems the UploadedComplete server code is not firing when the file upload completes any clue?
I am having a strange issue associated with AsyncFileUpload control. after the upload, I am updating the page by calling__doPostBack function from ClientUploadComplete event handler. it works fine first time, but next time I try to upload the file, it refreshes the page first before uploading, then does the upload and refreshes the page again. not sure why refresh page is being called twice once before the upload and once after the upload. I have a simplified version of this code which has this bug. [Code]....
i am new to this ASP.NET and AJAX.I am trying to learn AJAX. I Have one doubt.what is the difference between normal file upload control and ajax AsyncFileUpload Control ..?
When selecting an image for an item in file upload control of ajax toolkit (AsyncFileUpload), the only files that should be displayed are ".jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .bmp, or .png".
i use a asyncfileupload control to upload files from my web pages. since i have a listview inside an update panel, and the listview needs to have the file upload functionality, i can not use a asp fileupload control.
the uploaded files are saved inside a temp folder in my application directory. i use a asp:button to upload files from the asyncfieupload control to my temp folder.
as long as i work on my local machine, the upload control inside the listview works perfectly fine, and does what is expected of it (i.e upload files :))
but when i move the code to my web server the asyncfileupload onthe page works just once, that is, it uploads just once (no matter whichever row of the listview it is) and for all other subsequent uploads, it uplaods a file of the same name to my temp folder but with 0KB size.
it beats me why asyncfileupload control would behave this way in the two environments.
could anyone suggest a possible reason/or something i m missing to configure on the server?
I tried this tutorial [URL] .... It doesn't work with and vs 2010, and ajax control toolkit 4 ( I downloaded from link belowand vs 2010) and It doesn't work with ajaxcontroltollkit 3.5 I downloaded from same link.but when i put Your AjaxControlToolkit.dll in bin folder of my project it works fine.
I downloaded the same version of tolkit.dll as yours (3.0.30930.0) and I worked for me.
I am just about to learn how the AsyncFileUpload component works. I have come up with some code but this does not compile excactly. It seems but are not sure that I need to declare some events etc... I will explain excactly what my goal is to do. It will be possible to upload a .jpg file from a users computer and save this file to the below path with a new name:

I'm developing a website using .NET 3.5 and I'm having problems with the asyncfileupload control. The problem occurs when you upload a file, and then try upload the same file again. On the second upload, none of the clientside nor serverside methods fire. Everything works fine if you upload one file, upload a file with a different name and then upload the first one again.
This is a bit if a pain because on the page i allow the user to delete the uploaded images so i need the functionality to upload a file with the same name as the previous upload.Has anyone else encountered this and are there any work arounds?
I have a scenario which I am looking at where large files which are about 30-40 MB are being FTPed to a server. I am looking at creating a .net screen with the FTP control to upload the file to a Unix server. I need to know how much of a performance hit it is to work with such large files, is it a feasible option in this scenario? I might have to create a .net component for the same and call from ASP application. Is it doable?
I have 3 upload controls ,one listbox and two button controls in page. One button control named Attach has the code to add the files to listbox form 3rd file upload control and the 2nd button control named Save has the code to save the files of 1st and 2nd file upload controls in application folder and items of listbox to database.
The issue is couldn't maintain the state of 1st and 2nd file upload controls after browsing the files to file upload controls and clicking on Attach button control to add file name to listbox which was browsed by 3rd file upload control. So i placed the 3rd file upload control, Attach button and listbox in update panel but its not working. My requirement is when clicked on save button files of 1st and 2nd file upload controls in application folder and items of listbox to database, but 1st and 2nd file upload controls will loose the files as soon as Attach button is clicked to add filename of 3rd fileupload control to listbox.
I'm using AsyncFileUpload, when i upload a file all works fine, but when upload finish, i want to upload another file with the same control, but not work, always enter in the uploadError event, i dont know why. ¿What can i do for reset the control?
I'm using the AsyncFileUpload control inside my FormView (that is in a UserControl - .ascx file), and to "simulate" a server-side event I register a javascript script to do a click event of an hidden button (this is a trick discovered in this forum).
The click event is fired after the upload complete but... when the event is finished the AsyncFileUpload ontrol DISAPPEARS from the page and it is showen this instead:

Very strange behavior... is there somethings to set to solve this problem?
i m Uploading File using  Ajax AsyncFileUpload control.. after successful upload i am trying to display success message through Label and Also through Alert but its not working..below is i used code
I have two controls, each placed in their own <div> and <UpdatePanel> on my form. I am having trouble getting the partial page postback to fire after the file upload has completed. I have not used the __doPostBack approach before so I'm not sure if I am heading in the right direction.
This works in other browsers but not in chrome. I am trying to allow users to upload large files and have an ajax call to update them on the progress of the file upload.
So a unique ID is generated on the client side and added to the action of the form before sending. Then the form is submitted (form only contains a file upload input) and an ajax call is made to get the progress of the upload. The ajax call goes to another page and uses the ID to lookup the upload.
I am using JQuery 1.5.1. Debugging this and putting something on the error function give me nothing other than "error". Not very helpful. I used Chrome's debugger and it just says failed to load resource xxxx.aspx. xxx.aspx is the URL i needed. Turns out that there seems to be some sort of conflict between the form and the ajax call.
I have downloaded your asynchronous file upload source code it will work only in below IE8 and chrome.. but IE9 and FF will not work... I am using VS2010...
If I click the select button it won't come popup...
i AsyncFileUpload this is working fine in my local server but when i upload the files into my hosting server no file is uploading. this is my code to save the file.
Protected Sub tbnSave_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles tbnSave.Click Dim cmd As New MySqlCommand Dim cn As New MySqlConnection cn.ConnectionString = "server=localhost;User Id=root; password=papidm;database=jis;Persist Security Info=True" cn.Open() cmd.Connection = cn cmd.CommandType = System.Data.CommandType.Text cmd.CommandText = "Insert into PhotoAlbum (Photo,PhotoName,Descr,AlbumId) values (@Photo,@PhotoName,@Descr,@AlbumID)" cmd.Parameters.Add(New MySqlParameter("@Photo", "~/images/" + txtFileName.Text + ".jpg")) cmd.Parameters.Add(New MySqlParameter("@PhotoName", txtFileName.Text)) cmd.Parameters.Add(New MySqlParameter("@Descr", TextBox2.Text)) cmd.Parameters.Add(New MySqlParameter("@AlbumID", ddlArchive.SelectedValue)) cmd.ExecuteNonQuery() fileName = MapPath("~/images/") + txtFileName.Text + ".jpg" AsyncFileUpload1.SaveAs(fileName) End Sub
AsyncFileUpload not working when .net app published to web server. It works fine in testing on my pc. I have checked security settings. I can get other upload scripts to work, but I wanted to try using the AJAX AsyncFileUpload. I thought maybe it's something on the server blocking it, but not errors, It just keeps saying "uploading" but it never finishes and it never uploads the file. Has anyone else had this happen?
