Jul 21, 2010I have a page where I am using 2 update panels. The first update panel contains a form that has some validation tied to it. The second on has a simple form, but no validation. When I go to use the form in the second panel, the postback is halted by the validators in the first panel. Everything works as it should when I remove the validators.

Mar 6, 2013I have update panel on the page to avoid postback and placed a dropdownlist control within that update panel. DrodownList is filled with Category names and also it's autopostback set to True.
Now whenever dropdownlist index change's on select, untill page loads complete data it should show mesage as "Loading.... in center and middle of the page and background should become bit transparent". And when page load completely with data then that background and message should get disappear.

Oct 28, 2010I've got a working update panel which works fine when updating a label control, but I can't get it to work with an updated image (initial image loads fine - the problem is with the update). I think the problem maybe that the image name and location don't change, only the physical file. In other words, I've loaded the page, then updated the image (same name and location), but the image does not update with the label? Here's my code:

Mar 22, 2011Server Click event is not being triggered when I click on the "LookupButton". The weird part is that this code works on our Dev server, but not QA. If I get rid of "LookupValidationGroup", from the Lookup Button ValidationGroup property, the page does postback, but then my validators do not work. I could explicitly do the validation on the Server Side, but dont think I should need to.
No errors are being displayed. I also reinstalled .net 3.5 using aspnet_regiis -i command.

AJAX :: Generated Image Does Not Update On Postback Page Load?
Jan 26, 2010I have a dynamically generated image placed inside an update panel. The image is generated with the Generated Image control (see here for more:
[URL]. This is basically a specialised httphandler linked to a normal asp:image, where the image src is generated dynamically. In my case, I use some GDI+ to dynamically generate the image, based on values from a database query.
The problem I have is that the image does not update when the update panel updates. The image does, however, update if I manually reload/refresh the page (i.e., hit F5). Why is is that some code fires during an update panel update, and not other code? And, more importantly, what can I do to make sure the image generation code does fire during the updatepanel update?

Client Side Validation / When Build The Code, And Clicks On Image Button, These Validators Do Not Work?
Feb 23, 2011I have a text box in which I want only digits (either decimal or whole numbers). I have applied Required Field Validator and Regular Expression Validator on it.I have an Image Button, by clicking on which, I want this validation to be performed. But when I build the code, and clicks on Image Button, these validators do not work and I am redirected to the server side method of Image Button and after completing the execution of server side method, control comes to these validators and client side validation executes.I am fed up by finding solutions on Google and unable to find any solution.Please tell me of anyone of you know the solution that why server side code is running first and client side validation is executing after server side code execution.

I have a web page (aspx) which takes longer time to load the page. If this page is loading and if user requests same page by clicking menu link again, it is considered as not postback and page starts loading again (as soon as it finished first page load).
I want to prevent this from happening. When page is loading and user requests same page again, it should not process those requests and should be neglected.
This aspx page is requested from menu (which is designed on seperate master page).
Modal Loading Popup On Async Postback?
Sep 9, 2010I have a web application that does some complicated data retrieval tasks and so I am trying to show a modal dialog box with a loading message when the tasks begins. I am using ASP.Net 3.5, the jQeury popup I am using is bPopup.

so the $("#<%=lDiv.ClientID %>").openPopup(); opens up my loading modal and then the server starts doing its thing. When the server finishes though how would I then close the dialog box?

How To Prevent Loading Of Data When Postback Fails Validation
Feb 5, 2010I'm trying to prevent data from loading on the page when its needed.
Currently, I check the IsPostBack bool to prevent loading data in my user controls which allows the data to be loaded when the page is initially requested.
However, if my page fails validation and the page is sent back to the user with error messages, my user controls no longer have data in them because the initial request was a postback.
One solution is to have a flag in every user control (IsFailedPostBack) to force them to reload their data. Is there a better way?

When page load progress bar should show. and when page load finish the progress bar should hide.
I googled many thing mostly they are using thread.sleep method but i don't want that.

Jan 6, 2011I have RemoteValidators working correctly on Html.BeginForm. However when I turn this from in Ajax.BeginForm and perform following:1. Type in Textbox whose viewModel Property is bound to a Remote Validator RC2 MVC3
2. Press Submit Button immediately.3. What I observe = data is saved before it the validation completes.
4. On Server UpdateModel works and it finds no issues (even though the remote Validator would have noticed the problem).

aspx has one updatepanel and that updatepanel holds tabcontainer.
each tabpanel of above tabcontainer holds one user control and a button, so there are 2 tab panels to hold 2 user controls and 2 buttons.
