I have a modalpopup extender attached to a button. That is to say the button is the targetcontrol id of the modalpopupsxtender. I would still like the onclick event of that button to work because only the onclient click event is working. How can i go about this.

I am wondering if anyone could shed some light on why onclick of the target control does not work. I am asking this mainly out of curiosity because replacing onclcick with onfocus achieves what I need.

The click has been verified, but the popup does not show. Of course, if btTest is manually clicked, the popup will show without any problem.
Is there any way to show a popup window from code-behind?
When I click the button to open the modal popup it shows the popup but then continues and forces a postback causing the page to reload and the modal popup to be hidden again.Here is the markup for the control:

I'm using the AJAX Control Toolkit with VS2008 Professional and I'm experiencing a weird problem with the date format.I have two textboxes on a webpage for inputting dates. The date format I wish to use for both textboxes is MM/dd/yyyy. One textbox has a calendar extender attached to it and the other doesn't. When I first load the page, I set the first textbox (the one with the calendar extender) to today's date and then I call a function inside the code-behind for the page that calculates the value of the second textbox's date and displays it.
t the date format of the first textbox is M/d/yyyy as long as I have the calendar extender on the page. If I remove the extender, everything is okay.Here is what the page HTML looks like: [Code]....

I am quite new to asp.net. I would like to ask for some advice on how this scenario can be achieved. Here is the problem:
I have a 5 gridviews on my page. In each gridview, I have two important columns. They are SellerID and BuyerID. Because I already have too many gridviews on the page, I want to load a webuser control with a modalPopupExtender when either SellerID or BuyerID is clicked. That is to say if a user select a SellerID, the details information about that SellerID should be loaded with DetailView from the user control and if the buyerID is click, the details information about that buyer should be loaded with another detailview
from the user control as well.
My problem is I do not know how to get the Selected Value from the gridView since the DetailView is in the WebUserControl. One more thing, both SellerID and BuyerID are in the same GridView, so how can we distinguish when a user select a SellerID or vice versa.

I have a modalpopup that i have opening on a radiobutton selection. That works great, opens when it should and closes when you click cancel. BUT i have the following on my cancel button event that is not firing

I also have a button event for my "OK" button and that works great, but my cancel event doesnt seem to fire or work. Maybe the ClearSelection() is not what i need..
I want to clear the radiobutton if they cancel out of the ModalPopUp so they can make a new selection, since its a required field.

View 6 RepliesI have three modal popups that are working properly because I test it the controls with simple plain text.
I placed a form view and a datalist in the first two modal popups and everything seems to be okay.
I need to place a user control in the third modal popup but everytime I place the user control I get a javascript error for that particular modal popup.
When I copy paste the same modal popup on a blank page and place the user control inside of the panel then the modal popup works perfectly fine.
I basically copy/paste the same code back where the other two modal popups are then I get the same JavaScript error.
The modal popup crashes first on:

I have had this exact sample a month ago and it was working perfectly, but for some reason now when I click on the "Next", the page reloads and everything resets, I have an updatepanel in there so it shouldn't be reloading.. Here is my code:

I have a simple form with a list of linkbuttons, each fires the same onclick event which sets an indicator image. I have a dummy button with style="display:none" which I have set as the TargetControlID of the modal.
onClick event from the imagebutton, the modal is shown via modal.Show(). The cancel button inside the modalpopup fires an event which turns off the indicator image and hides the modal via modal.Hide().
The events fire perfectly, it's very simple! Although after doing some testing I noticed the modalpopup is not presented after the 6-10th cycle of clicking the open event, then clicking cancel. The grey background appears but it is behind the main panel and the modal is either presented behind this or is just simply not displaying.
I spent hours researching various methods, implemented the CancelControlID to see if it was somehow tied to my call of modal.Hide() that fails.This occurs with an updatepanel only. The behaviour is much cleaner this way, so I would hope to be able to implement this. I have basically eliminated everything but these two events!
I got a Default.aspx which uses a Master.Page.
I added in the Default.aspx a Panel which I would like to be popup by clicking on LinkButton
I added the ModalPopup Extender,

I read so many post which say if i need to catch the button event on the modal popup extender, i need to use javascript. But when it comes to my requirement I get confused.
I open a data entry form which contains several textboxes, drop down lists, validator controls and 3 buttons (viz. SAVE, SAVE & CONTINUE and CANCEL) on the modal popup. The requirement is that :
1. When the SAVE button is clicked the data in the different controls must be inserted into the database and the modal Popup must disappear.
2. When SAVE & CONTINUE button is clicked the data in the controls must be inserted into the database and the modal popup must be ready for the other with clear controls.
3. When CANCEL button is clicked the modal popup must simply be disappear.
I am using the ajax toolkit calendar extender control with the asp.net button for the postback event. the functionality is after selecting the date, clicking on the submit button will call the button event. now I need to obtain the same thing without clicking the button and on the date selection. ie, on selecting or closing the calendar control the postback event has to fire. how too obtain this? calendar and the button are placed in the user control.
View 8 RepliesSo I have a button on form that is supposed to execute some code-behind on a click event. To this button I also connected a Modal Popup Extender, which once you click OK, it goes away. What doesn't happen (and it should) is btnSendContactForm_Click never gets called.
Using the OnOkScript didn't help me either. I have tried setting the OnOkScript property of the extender, by calling a javascript that simulates the button click on the send button, but that only re-calls the modal pop extender, and a never-ending loop results everytime you click OK.
