AJAX :: Positionning The Page After An UpdatePanel?

I am using ASP.NET, in VB
My problem: I have a submit button in my page. The pressed, it reveals a hidden div with updated info and places the page at the right level with an anchor. The div contains a gridview with pages. When I change pages, because of the anchor, I am brought back to the top of the page (if I was at page.aspx#middle, it sends me to a.aspx#). No matter what I do, I can't manage to tell the pages to only update the updatepanel, it always changes the link. I do not have this issue if I don't have a hash, it simply remains at the same place.
What I am trying to do: either not go to the top of the page, or even better, go to the middle of the page, to my #middle tag.
What I have tried: MaintainScrollPositionOnPostback (I need to be able to set my position, so it doesn't work), ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(Me.GetType(), "BookMarkScript", Script.ToString(), True) (it never worked, never set my page), putting a window.location.hash after my __doPostBack (because it updates my page twice for an unknown reason), ASyncPostBackTriggers (seems to entirely ignore my updatePanel when I am using hashes, even if it works without them).

I have master page
MyMasterPage.aspx and content page MyDefault.aspx.
MyMasterPage.aspx has one input button [value="Menu-1"]. When user click the button, the button will pass value "Menu-1" into
TextBox1Default1 at content page MyDefault.aspx, and then refresh
UpdatePanelDefault1 at content page MyDefault.aspx asynchronously.
My problem is the post back is full post back when refreshing UpdatePanelDefault1. I would like asynchronously post back during refreshing UpdatePanelDefault1. copy the full code MyMasterPage.aspx and MyDefault.aspx below, and then paste / overwrite it into your blank aspx page for testing. I am using VS 2008

I have an updatepanel on my master page that just updates the database every 30 seconds, what is happening is that everytime it is fired, it will refresh everything on the page_load of the content page that are not under ispostback = false. to disable such a thing just for this specific updatepanel?

I have an asp UpdatePanel, an asp panel, an asp timer, and an asp label on my web page, as you know the whole idea of updatepanel is trying to implementing partial page rendering mechanisem, however, it is not the case in my scenario, here is the code:

strangely, the labl1 does update the time without causing the whole page post back, but the panel does cause the whole page refreshed, and the asp panel contains asp buttons and those buttons are generated dynamically by code behand c# file, am i missing sth here or the nature of asp:panel will cause the whole page post back?

1- I am using updatepanel and somethings work asynchronously and others do not which are in the same page.
But could it be that using the "same" trigger for two different update panels causes the first one to be asynchronously and the second one not?
2- In php u have something called $_POST['variablename'] which u get from a previous page. Is there anything similair in ASP.NET?
My point is that I have a dropdownlist and I want in the next page to launch a message depending on what the user chooses in the dropdownlist.

It keeps on refreshing the page I'm using framework 4 (VS 2010 RC1Release).
This code was working in framework 3.5
all the pages in framework 4 that i've been using updatepanel it keeps on refreshing the page.
But works fine in framework 3.5 (VS 2008).

I have 2 ddls (cascading that does not use the AJAX cascading ddl) within an updatepanel within an EditTemplate field in a DetailsView. Changing the first ddl causes a full page refresh (this is the problem I am trying to overcome), but changing the second ddl does not. The second ddl is set to autopostback as well because of other logic (if user selects value "Add" a modal pops up to add a new option to the database).
Now the first, does a call out to a class to handle setting the list of values for the second...that is the only difference I can tell between the two, but I wouldn't think that would cause the issue because it is within an updatepanel.

I am having now two UpdatePanels on the same content page. One is a big UpdatePanel and another is a very small one. I can insert the little one content to the big one, but it means some info I don't need to update with Ajax at all will be init two, because of UI issues. What is better for performance? One big UpdatePanel or a small ones?

i am using an updatepanel and loading diffrent user controls(.'ascx') in to it by the server side.
in every user control i have diffrent controls, max 4 controls in one user control.
no matter what control i am using when ever i cause an event from any control on the user control
the page postback twice and the item/option/text ichoose or checked or wrote in the control disappers, and the control
that caused the event returns the his original position like no change was made to it.
does anybody have any ideas or have a suggestion what causes thes double postback.

I have Page_A.aspx and Page_B.aspx
Page_A.aspx has a text box and a Send button.
Page_B.aspx has a Label control on it, inside an UpdatePanel
I want that when I type something in Page_A.aspx and click Send, the text of Label on Page_B.aspx should be updated with the text box text and the UpdatePanel should be updated. Is this possible?

I am dynamically adding controls to a page with an updatepanel. The controls do trigger a post back but their events do not fire.
For example:

I have seen this discussed in number of topics, but so far nothing to address my specific issue. I want to display the page the client, and then trigger an updatepanel refresh that will populate with data that takes 3-4 seconds to load (the rest of the page loads very fast). At the same time I want to display "...Loading..." text using UpdateProgress control.
Everything is working below in the sample code. However, UpdateProgress will not display unless the button is actually clicked by the user. In real production scenario I would hide the button. To invoke the immediate UpdatePanel refresh I trigger the click via Javascript. I have also tried "__DoPostBack" without success.

I got an updatepanel which contains a normal panel on MasterPage. The updatepanel does not contain content place holder. On the content page, I have to add triggers to updatepanel for buttons that are dynamically created on "page_load" event. The problem is that, since the page_load event of content page is being called before master page's page_load event, UpdatePanel is not being created. So that, whenever i try to add triggers in page_load event of content page, i got an error like "A control with ID 'ctl00$editableContent$ctl42' could not be found for the trigger in UpdatePanel 'up1'."
The code below is for adding triggers to updatepanel for buttons.

I am using UpdatePanel and UpdateProgress on my webform. On my page_Load, I am checking some of the session variable if thats null then I have to redirect to my other page. Now, as I have updatePanel, we cannot use Response.Redirect so I have this code to redirect to my other page after checking that session variable.

But the problem is that my page continues execution after this line. I want to immediate transfer my page to this other page just like Response.Redirect but it keeps executing and redirects at last. If it comes to this line of code, I immediately want to redirect to my other page.

Have a GridView in an UpdatePanel, all works fine. Click the Submit() button which updates the database on postback, then the GridView is bound in code and I register an alert:
ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(this.UpdatePanel1, typeof(string), "dopopup", "alert('Operation successful!');", true);
Calling UpdatePanel1.Update() causes the popup to appear. All fine but what I am noticing is that the alert occurs just before the page has fully updated and is causing a few minor layout issues that are resolved when the alert button is closed (by clicking OK). Is there a way to generate an alert after a full UpdatePanel refresh, so something like:
ScriptManager.RegisterFullyLoadedScript(this.UpdatePanel1, typeof(string), "dopopup", "alert('Operation successful!');", true);
I tried a simple wait() in the code like this:
ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(this.UpdatePanel1, typeof(string), "dopopup", "wait(100);alert('Operation successful!');", true);
But this didn't work.

I got strange behaviour here. My environment is VS.Net 2008 Team server and I tried to use updatepanel but failed.

When I clicked the button, I expect Label3 inside updatepanel to be updated and Label2 remained the same, AND of course without page refreshing flick. But the result is page is completed refreshed and both labels are updeted.
