i really tried everything i knew and everything i read in this or other forums and just dont get lucky!!!webpart is the name, and autoCompleteExtender is the gamethis is my webpart-ascx code:

i have to mention that i needed to comment out some tags from my webservice webconfig file to get rid of the error messages:

i think those entries were already in the webconfig file of my sharepoint solution...i'm using IIS7, AJAX Toolkit 3.0, Sharepoint 2010 Server and Visual Studio 2010...within IIS, i changed the permissons of my IIS-Application folder to "Everyone -> Full Control"...when i deploy and call my webpart, and type 2 letters in the textbox, it tries to call my webservice/webmethod and throws this exception:Access is deniedat

in ScriptResource.axd?..........the webservice is in the same solution as the webpart... so how can i pleeaaaaaseee get rid of this exception and finally get my AutoCompleteExtender working

On our intranet I have SQL Server 2008 running on server A and i'm developing a new ASP.NET application on server B.
At first I had trouble being able to write a working webservice which would simply list up customer names from a table in a SQL database hosted on server A. It kept giving me a certain domain error. I resolved this by adding the following line to the web.config of the webservice project:

At this stage I'm able to manually go to the webservice and invoke. This works.
I'm also able to add a web reference to the webservice in another project and by coding i'm able to call the methods of the webservice and outputting the data.
What i'm not able to do ... and why I write this post ... is using the webservice & method with the AutocompleteExtender like this:

The whole project works like before, until I type 1 letter in the textBox on which the autocomplete happens. I then get no result whatsoever, but at the bottom of the page ( in the left corner ) I get "Error on Page" ... If I view the error it simply says "Access is denied". Line: 4784, Char 9 Code 0, URL = the page on which I type the letter in the textBox.
The version I'm using of the Ajax Control Toolkit is 3.0.30512.1
I tried using 3.5.40412.2, but this just resulted in another error which suggested using the ToolkitScriptManager instead of the ScriptManager ... using the ToolKitScriptManager resulted into more errors ... :s ... so now it's just version 3.0.30512.1
Things I have tried so far are:- Manually adding the AjaxControlToolkit.dll to C:WINDOWSassembly- Setting access for Everyone for certain folders to full Control.
It just bothers me that I'm able to call the methods from withing my code like:

I have an AutoCompleteExtender control tied to a textbox. If the user starts typing in it, a drop down pops up displaying the a list with the matching suggestions. If, while the list is being displayed, the user hits the Tab key, the textbox loses focus and its value gets overwritten with whatever choice was highlighted in the list.
The problem is when the user clicks outside the list, I want to achieve the same behavior. It currently keeps whatever the user had typed (before the choice list pops up), but I would like for the textbox to get the value of the last highlighted choice (just as if they hit Tab).
I'm able to capture the event, when the user clicks outside the list, but I can't seem to find how to get to the highlighted value from the choice list.

I am new in sharepoint development. I have 2 webparts attached on a page. The first webpart (MyTestingWebpart1) basically it does only inserting of data and the other webpart (MyTestingWebpart[2]) displays the records from the database. Now my problem is when I try to click on the save button, somehow I don't know how to refresh the webpart that displays the newly inserted record. Is this possible?
I have added a query at the page load event of MyTestingWebPart[2]. Both of the webparts attached are web user controls.

I am just started development in ASP.NET.
I have created one sample application for WebParts. It is working fine when I run it from Visual Studio or local environment.
But when, I have publish file in IIS virtual directory (in my PC or same PC) at that time it is stop showing Verb tool bar (minimize, close buttons of WebPart).

i have a hidden textbox in my aspx page. The aspx page also has a masterpage in the <% @Page> directive.

actually in aspx.cs i am getting txtType.ClientID="ctl00_MainHeaderContent_txtType"
I have a webpart in a webpart zone in this aspx page. In the webpart CreateChildcontrols() I need to access this hiddenTextbox value. I am able to access it as

But instead of hardcoding I want to access as a control in the page or form. How can I do that I want to do as looping through the controls in the page but Page.Controls.Count gives 1 and that is MasterPage. How can I get the entire controls in the page and loop through and find the hidden textbox. I also tried as string TxtValue = this.Page.Request.Form["<%=txtType.ClientID%>"] in CreateChildControls() of the webp[art. But could not access hidden textbox like this.

I have a requirement where I have a webpart and two ImageButtons(imgGV, imgLV) and a hidden input textbox('ctl00$MainHeaderContent$txtType') in an aspx page. I need to change templates to this Webpart either to show results in "Grid View" or as "List View" on the click of this ImageButtons. I added code in the page_load of .aspx page as

So the text added using Javascript into Textbox is it not available in the code behind code using "Text" property of the same Textbox?.

My CMS writes a sitemap xml file, for google analytics, to the server whenever I create or update a page. The error is:

Access to the path 'D:homeensamplemrweinerschnitzelandpie.comsitemap.xml' is denied.
I imagine that happens because IUSR_machineName doesn't have proper permissions. I have no issues on my development server (which is pretty much default) but to avoid this in the future, instead of having a method that writes an XML file can I just output an XML filestream? I can barely remember the reasons I used the file writing at all (caching and file dependencies maybe) and that's all been replaced.
Am I on the right path by thinking filestream is the answer or can I just write an aspx page that outputs the sitemap.xml file? Am I wrong in imagining there is a difference between the two?

After doing a google search on a problem I couldn't find the solution so I'm asking I'm runnnig an ASP.NET Website locally to upload a picture file. It takes the filename and from there it takes the date (year and month) and then when it gets uploaded, the web site creates a corresponding folder to store the picture like serverPath/pictures/2010/12 where 2010 is the year and 12 is the month, it all works greate locally but when I upload it to my hosting machine (GoDaddy, IIS 7.0) is keeps giving me this error message:"Access to the path X is denied"And it's not automatically creating the folders.This is the code that I'm using to create the folder:

I am new to IIS and have some questions.
I've put my application on IIS with a App Pool I newly created. The App pool setting is integrated and networkservice.
My application reads a local file from a local machine. When it tries to do that, I receive an exception saying that "Access to the path c:..xxx is denied". Isn't the app using the credentials logged into the local machine?!
doesn't "integrated and networkservices" mean.. use the credentials logged in to windows?

I have an application that allows users to use a FileUpload object to upload files to a directory on the web server. The upload part works fine, but if they later try to delete the file they get an error that Access to the path is denied. The Application Pool for the site runs under NetworkService, and on the folder they are loading and trying to delete these files from I give NetworkService Full control. What else I may need to do?

I've written a Generic Handler so I can access my server's COM port through javascript. I'm doing this, because I'm writing a Web Interface to an ESP-88 from BOSE, for internal use. The code must be configurable, and I added routines for both TCP/IP support and RS232. In a desktop app, the code runs fine, but in an ASP.net 4.0 App, the code crashes with the error "Access to the port 'COM2' is denied.". TCP/IP connections work, but serial is also required for us.

Once the user is logged in they can select a report and criteria, click a button which will then create a CSV file on the server in CSVFiles folder and email to the logged in email address. I'm a lowly DBA.I am supporting a web app that allows users to upload images (among other documents). The system is deployed and working and not having issues with the uploads. However, I upgraded my development box recently and since then I have been encountering an "access denied" issue. Initially I thought it was a simple security issue but now it seems it is more complex.

My code is not being allowed to save an xml file in a folder on my server. Why is this?

It seems to say something about not being authenticated and adding users to the config file. However this code has nothing to do with any users or groups, I just want it to always have permission to save files on the server. The code is purely internal, more like the core innerworkings of the site, it has nothing to do with users. I don't want to have to authenticate it, it shouldn't need authenticating, I just want it to work.

I am trying to use the unmanaged ImageMagick library in my ASP.NET application from the command line using System.Diagnostics.Process. Basically, users will upload an .eps file to the site, and then I will run the command line command to convert it into .jpg. This is the code I'm using to try and run the command:

I am able to run this code just fine on our development Win 2k3 server, but not on our production Win 2k3 Server. I get the error "System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: Access is denied". The main between the two servers is that the production is 64-bit and runs Plesk to manage multiple domains. I've tried adding rights asp.net user to the ImageMagick directory. The PS Admin says that in the case of Plesk, it's the same account that I use to access the site in VS using FPE. Does anyone know what I might do in order to allow this process to run on my production server?
