my button code looks like this: <asp:ImageButton id="b1" OnClientClick="showTextBox();">.
showTextBox() code is called and it displays the textbox, but the click event goes to the server and comes back and when it comes back it doesnt know about the newly added textbox i guess. Is there an easy way to show the textbox from the client side without going to the server inside UpdatePanel.
I have 2 "Updatepanel" controls. Each contains a textbox linked to a "TextBoxWatermarkExtender", and a button. When I click on one of the buttons without to enter any text, all the watermark text disappear on BOTH updatepanel when they should remain visible.
How can I avoid the waternmark text to disappear when I click on the button?
I am using UpdatePanel, and I include a gridview inside the updatepanel, I want the grid to be refreshed when button1 or button2 of gridview being pressed. But now when I click the button, the gridview disappeared and look likes the whole aspx is refreshed. I just want to refresh the gridview inside updatepanel. But now the gridview is disappeared. The following is
I install AJAX Control Tool kit and Telerik Rad Controls in my Visual Studio 2005. I was working well with these controls. Now i could not able to see AJAX Control Tool kit and Telerik Rad Controls in the toolbox. I don't know what happen.
I've a ASP.Net page (Default.aspx) which will load UserControl (ucontrol.ascx) dynamically into an UpdatePanel. By using UpdatePanel, we believe we're able to prevent the entire page to be posted-back.
My problem is, within the UserControl, we have some form controls, such as inputs and buttons; after the UserControl is loaded, clicking on any button inside the UserControl will cause the UpdatePanel to be blanked. During the investigation, I found that, breakpoints within the Button1_Click() in the code-behind for the UserControl is never reached. Please reference to the code below, this references to [REFERENCE]1.
Iam working on a web form that incorporate ListView control with Ajax RoundCornerExtender. On my machine everything works fine, and looks okay. After uploading the page to the host server the ListView Item DIV with the round corners looks broken, I contacted the host server support and they asked me to check for version issues, I reinstalled the Ajax Control Toolkit as well as the .Net Framework 3.5 but still no change. When I change the ASP.NET version on the control panel from ver. 2.0 to ver. "2.0 Integrated pipeline" (they say its ver. 3.5) all the Ajax controls disapear from the page.
One more thing I noticed, when the ASP.NET ver. on control panel is set to "2.0 Integrated pipeline" (3.5) and I execute the following -
At the Page_Load, I am creating some controls that I add to an existing Panel. I also added a button outside that panel that generates a postback.
When I click that button, the dynamic controls disapears. Is there any way to wrap my Button inside an updatePanel to only update what is inside that panel, leaving the rest of the page (including my dynamic controls) as is?
i put PopUpcontrolExtender in my page to learn more about this toolkit base on the Ajax tutorial but ,when i click on the button, popup modal form popped up and disapear by itself fast, here is my code:
As described above my session variables seem to be disappearing when i change the ActiveTabIndex of my TabContainer.
I call the session variable twice. The first time populates a div in "divResults", and then i switch to that tab, its only after the switch when i try to return the session variable again that its gone.
Is this really the case? I have seen it eluded to somewhere, and there was meant to be a fix coming out (this was 2006 or something).
Is there anything i can do here? I cant find any other reason why they would be disappearing other than this!
I have a page with an UpdatePanel in wich I load the menu selected Layout pages, and the layouts loads its contents dynamically.
It works fine, but when I load a Layout that has an Multiview control, the code behind of the Layout don't come in into the if(!Page.IsPostBack), ok, I fixed it with if(multiview.ActiveViewIndex==-1) multiview.setactiveview("viewName").
In the Multiview I have a ListView, in the listview I have Linkbuttons that opens another view and shows the information of the specified row dynamically.
when I click in the link so the page disappear from the update panel... why? I do not a full postback of the page, so I think I don't need to reload that page on the update panel... Right?
WebuserControl holds a button that trigger a database operation. As soon as I click on button inside webusercontrol the whole control disappears, leaving behind a blank modalpopupcontrol. Remember there is no postback happening as modalpopup has updatepanel as its first child. Everything is inside this updatepanel.
I have masterpage which includes dropdown list for choosing skins for page.
Also I have Home.aspx include above master page. This Home.aspx contains update panel[up1] which further comprises of gridview, link button, image button[IB] and dropdown list. Also there is one modal popup that has a panel which includes dropdown and text box.
Requirement: when i click image button[IB], modal popup opens up and home.aspx gets grayed up.
Issue: when i click image button[IB], modal popup opens up, but all dropdowns placed in[Home.aspx and Master page] get disappeared[invisible]. Once i close modal popup , they are visible.
I have two updatepanels on my site (upanProfileSearch and upanMemberList). When I hit the button in the upanProfileSearch it should bind the Data Items in the gridview in upanMemberList and here make a RowFilter on the text in upanProfileSearch. When I make a run to curser, I can see, it happens. It makes a RowFilter. but it doesn't update the gridview. Can anyone tell me why it doesn't update? I have UpdateMode="Always" and RenderMode="inline" on both UpdatePanels.
I have a web user control with one updatepanel (pnlUpdate_2), some controls and one apply button. I display the web user control as a modalpopup in my default page. In my default page i have an updatepanel (pnlUpdate_1) with a gridview and I modify that gridview with the apply button of the web user control. The web user control is for made a custom search of the gridview data. I have a problem with both updatepanels. If I set the updatemode as always in one of them (pnlUpdate_1) and the other as conditional (pnlUpdate_2), the pnlUpdate_1 make a postback in the pnlUpdate_2; I'm not an expert on this but I think that's why the pnlUpdate_2 disappear and reappear after postback of some controls in that updatepanel (not the apply button, it close the modal after postback). I try all the combinations and the problem persists. So I put both updatepanels as conditional and in some way it works; now the problem is that when I click the apply button in pnlUpdate_2 to modify the gridview in pnlUpdate_1 the pnlUpdate_1 not made the postback I get the pnlUpdate_2 postback when I use some control inside the pnlUpdate_1.
How can I postback the pnlUpdate1 from pnlUpdate_2 with the apply button?
I have a web page with an UpdatePanel containing two GridViews and related controls. There is a Save button on the page outside the UpdatePanel. One of the event handlers for a control inside the UpdatePanel calls a method DisplaySaveButton, which is supposed to make the Save button visible or not depending on a parameter. Although DisplaySaveButton is called & executed correctly, it does not effect the visibility of the Save button.
If I remove the UpdatePanel from the form, leaving all its content behind, everything works perfectly.
how do I affect the state of a control outside the UpdatePanel?
I have an UpdatePanel with some controls, and a tree control outside of the UpdatePanel. The tree control is huge (~4 MB) hence I don't want to refresh the tree on postbacks from within the UpdatePanel.
Everything is working great, except during one of the PostBack from within the UpdatePanel, I want to refresh the tree. This just does not seem to be possible.
I have created a user control(.ascx) and i am loading this control on .aspx page at runtime using LoadControl() method ==='Codeing on .aspx page' Protected Sub Page_PreInit(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.PreInit Dim Item_1 As Control Dim objLoad As New System.Web.UI.UserControl Item_1 = objLoad.LoadControl("~/Controls/CmbList.ascx") Rpt_Panel.Controls.Add(Item_1) Dim Item_2 As Control Dim objLoad_1 As New System.Web.UI.UserControl Item_2 = objLoad_1.LoadControl("~/Controls/CmbList.ascx") Rpt_Panel.Controls.Add(Item_2) End Sub My .ascx control contains a combobox and as shown in above code, i am loading this control twice on my page. Now i have implemented a functionality that whenever item is changed in Item_1 combo, values in Item_2 will be loaded based on value selected in Item_1. this works fine but whenever item is changed in Item_1, the whole page get refresed. I want to use AJAX here so that on Item_2 combo gets refreshed. Can anyone help me how can i achieve this? And if possible i want to implement this behaviour in my .ascx control rather than on .aspx page.
I have a page that is essentially a group of controls on top, a button in the middle and a DataGrid at the bottom.
I wanted some asynchronous code to get ran; so I wrapped the bottom DataGrid in an UpdatePanel and made the button in the middle as the async trigger. This is working great. However, the button also needs to clear out the values of the controls up top after it adds to the bottom DataGrid.
The code to clear these controls out gets ran, but nothing changes on screen. I assume this is because the top controls need to be wrapped in an UpdatePanel as well. I did this, but I'm having a problem.
I have a couple of dropdowns inside an Ajax Update Panel. When I try to rebind the controls or set the selected index of the drodowns inside the panel, they don't respond.
For example, I update the database records and need the dropdowns to display updated data. I set the data source for the dropdowns, rebind them and update the UpdatePanel, but it still shows the old data.
when does the updatepanel render its child controls?
I've written a small interface to implement validation in controls, and here's where I get stucked: When I use an updatepanel, the controls are 'Nothing' at the time I set the property. This happens only when the controls are in an updatepanel. See below.
<DefaultValue("false")> _ Public Property CausesValidation() As Boolean Implements IWUCValidation.CausesValidation Get Return Me.txtStructure.CausesValidation End Get Set(ByVal value As Boolean) If value = False Then Me.phValidator.Controls.Clear() Else Dim r As New RequiredFieldValidator r.ErrorMessage = "*" 'me.txtStructure is nothing r.ControlToValidate = Me.txtStructure.ID 'me.phValidator is nothing Me.phValidator.Controls.Add(r) End If Me.txtStructure.CausesValidation = value End Set End Property
I have a webform which has an updatepanel with a combobox, add button, delete button and a table. The functiion of the two buttons is to add or delete table rows. However, the table is getting cleared everytime the combobox item is selected. Is there anotherway of retaining the table contents? The code for the updatepanel is:
I had a group of controls. They were programmatically referenced so that I could change the text of the labels. It all worked well. So I just put an update panel in and put the controls [i]inside[/i] the UpdatePanel. Now the code that references these labels inside the update panel are no longer recognized. I imagine it's because they are inside the updatepanel now. But for some reason, the web application still works correctly, but the code is blotched up with errors every time a label inside the updatepanel is referenced. My question is, how do I programmatically reference the labels that are located inside the update panel?
If the title was too confusing, here's a breakdown of the problem I'm having:I have a page with an UpdatePanel in it. Within that UpdatePanel, I dynamically load the .ascx file. This UserControl has a static UpdatePanel within itself. The page technically works, although I'm sure the wiring up behind the scenes is NOT correct -- the only way to get it to work (most of the time) is to dynamically load the UserControl both everytime the page loads, as well as every time a trigger occurs.
