AJAX :: Images Not Displaying After Post Back With Update Panel
Feb 25, 2010
In the page load evertything is working fine. Iam using Updatepanel in my page .Images are not displaying with post back i am using telerick grid and jquery in my page. how to get images on postback
I have a page that is mostly dynamically built in the page load of my VB.net code behind page.
The issue is that I made a change to the page and added a button that redirects to a secondary page. When the button is clicked there is a very noticeable lag until the button click event fires because the page is being rebuilt every time.
I had not wrapped the code in the load event in the If not ispostback.... because I have dynamic controls that the user interacts with and I need the page to be rebuilt when the user clicks them.
The dynamic controls are clickable table cells. I did some looking and I found that the RegisterPostBackControl. I thought this would be perfect but, it does not although I maybe using it incorrectly.
I have a page that the users get redirected to. On page load this page runs a bunch of code behind that and loads table. The processing could take a few seconds to minutes depending on how big a report is run. Is there any way to completely render the page before automaticly kicking off the code? I am trying to stay away from forcing the user to click on another button.
I have multiple update panels in a page. how I can know which update panel caused partial page updation on client side before page is partially updated?
I have used Response.Write("<script language='javascript'>alert('Enter correct Email and Password');</script>");} code in code behind for displaying an alert box.But this code is not work when i have added an update panel.I have also tried usin registerclientscript.but same .How can i display an alert box when using an update panel?
Im using updatepanel in my screen.. i have 2 pages when i click submit button in page1 then it ill be redirect to page2 ....in page2 i have one back button..i wrote click event onclick="history.go(-1)"when i click back it just redirect to page 1 but records already showned in page1 not displayed .how can i sove this problem? cai i use any scriptmanager?
I know everyone has heard this a million times, but I need help with the back button and the AJAX update panel.I essentially have a form, that has 5 fields:Vehicle Make (In update panel #1) Model (In update panel #1) Trim (In update panel #1) Ownership Status Zip Vehicle model gets populated depending on what you put in make, same with trim. Now once the user hits next, I do a response.redirect. When I hit the back button, the possible values, and the current index is wiped for Vehicle Make, Model, Trim. I cannot figure out a way around this.I have read about that history management feature, but seems uselesss since I need to somehow update the make, model, and trim possible values. Isn't there any way for me to get these values in the viewstate before I post the page?
I want to display Chinese character in text box in Ajax Update Panel. But now i am getting error message as below.
Webpage error details

Message: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled.
Looking for the best technique on handling or at least some documentation showing an example.
Starting Page
Gridview control withing an update panel (also various controls used for filtering NOT IN UPDATE PANEL)
Databinding does not happen during page load.
Databinding is initiated when update panel trigger (asp:Button object) is clicked
Hyperlink column is added to returned records
Hyperlink posts to a separate page for detail for record which the hyperlink was clicked.
Second Page
While navigating via the browser back button to previous page (which contained the update panel and gridview) only the (various controls used for filtering) have retained state. The gridview is not shown (which is how the page loads initially when starting) How can I retain the state of the Gridview and add a step in the browser history all together?
I searched google and found asynchronise post back trigger is used if we want update panel to post back on some event of control if it is out side the update panel. Than what is purpose of post back trigger ?
We have two update panels on our webpage. Now first update panel is having button cancel. While second update panel is having a file upload control.
Now if the user uploads a file that is going to upload in about 2 mins, and in between, say after 30 seconds the user clicks the cancel button, the upload taking place in update panel 2 should stop.
The javascript is running everytime I click the button. However, even though my subroutine updates the session variable after clicking the button, I always get the same alert. In other words, the same javascript is run after postback, and it is not updated. I am positive that the session variable IS being changed.
I have four textbox and a button in my page. After filling the textbox. When the user click save button. A loading image should be displayed. User should not feel that the page is postback to the server,Some thing like in facebook loading image.
Being new to ASP.NET I have run into trouble building my own Whack-a-mole program. I think my problem comes from using Buttons, which by themselves send post backs to the server, making the software unusable. The looks are in place, making new buttons show up in the grid, in different places by random. However, when a button is pushed - the score doesn't change (which I feel is strange).
Not so strange is that the Button doesn't work since it sends post back to the server - reloading the UpdatePanel. I think I should use a different controller like the CheckBox and style it hard using CSS (which isn't a problem). Is this the correct way to go, or should I make use of JavaScript AJAX instead?
Note to self: This technique shouldn't be used in a public application since it put too much unwanted pressure on the web server.
when i click save wherever msg get displayed in lblsave.text but positioning of the <asp:Label ID="lblsave" for displaying msg is not proper i have another label lblmsg in modal popup i need to display msg in lblmsg but i get blank.
I have a gridview in an update panel with the following code to select a row, this in turn updates another updatepanel with details from the form record.
protected void gvMainGrid_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e) { if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow) { //Make the entire row clickable to select this record //Uses javascript to post page back e.Row.Attributes["onmouseover"] = "this.style.cursor='hand';this.style.textDecoration='underline';"; e.Row.Attributes["onmouseout"] = "this.style.textDecoration='none';"; e.Row.Attributes.Add("onclick", ClientScript.GetPostBackClientHyperlink(this.gvMainGrid, "Select$" + e.Row.RowIndex)); } }
I am manually binding the gridview from a database and don't want to rebind the grid just to highlight the row, but I can't seem to add any javascript to the onclick event, it seems to either show the GetPostBackClientHyperlink or the row highlight javascript.
I have a big form in which i have almost 10 update panels. some are having updatemode = conditional and others are always. Now by default when that page is opened i only show one dropdownlist. When that project dropdownlist (from which i populate the rest of the elements in my page) value is changed by user it takes long time to load the other elements. Also the other gridview which is also surrounded by update panel and mode in conditional takes long time to show edititemtemplate controls in edit mode.
I am unable to trace the reason behing delay. Few days ago it was working fine and fast but now it is slow.
I have one update panel inside updatepanel i have one dropdownlist .When i change dropdownlist value so as per value button1 which is out of updatepanel not visible =true or false as per dropdownlist value.
I have two Repeater controls, each hosted in a user control. Both user controls are contained in the same aspx page. Only one User Control is visible at any one time. The repeaters are comprised of checkboxes, and text boxes for user input.
The aspx page is configured with an Ajax ScriptManager; and contains several Ajax UpdatePanels. These UpdatePanels result in partial page post backs when text is changed in a textbox control in controls on the aspx page (this is not the behaviour for the Repeaters in the User Controls). Through use of several AsyncPostBackTriggers, various controls contained in the other UpdatePanels on the page have their content refreshed in response to the partial page post backs they are configured be notified about.
Depending on a radio button group selection, I set the visible property to true or false - as appropriate for the User control containing a repeater control. The Repeater control is then populated with data using databinding. All of this works.
However, when the Submit button is clicked, the Repeater control contains no data.
Given that I am not dynamically adding the Controls containing the Repeater controls (but using Visible true / false). I would have thought that the State of the fields and the data in the visible control would be preserved during the post back.
The User Controls are contained within the UpdatePanel that contains the Submit Button.
I have explicitly Enabled View state without any effect.
Am I correct in assuming that I should not have to do any explicit handling of data changes the user makes (via client side script and manipulation of an Data Structure Representing the Repeater Data); and the View State should maintain the data I need to access on the server when submitted?
I do not believe that it is the User Control visible state changes that are causing the issue because when the page is initially loaded on of the User controls is populated with dummy rows (so it displays).
I am suspicious that because the visible state of the controls is changed during partial page post back, that the Page View State ends up with no knowledge of the User Control and therefore cannot track its data (or changes).
i have my master page with one update panel working like a banner, so when the timer do tick every 5 sec
the image change. That works fine, but i have an update panel in my index page, this update panel works with some buttons that change the text inside the panel when click.
Now, the problem.
When i click one button to change the text and the banner change, the text returns to his default text. The update in master page is affecting the update on index page.
I have a panel bar..each time I press panel bar item I display ascx control with in update panel..but it lakes update panel loading time lot..how I can decrease that loading time?
