In my default.aspx page I have a PlaceHolder control within an UpdatePanel. In this placeholder control I will dynamically load a web user control, which is just a form with a submit button. On this user control, I have the form within an update panel and I have the "Submit" button's Click Event added to the triggers.
When I submit the form, the UpdatePanel on the web user control nor the update panel on the default.aspx page are capturing the post back, thus causing a full post back which refreshes my page.
how to capture this post so its rendered in Ajax and not a full post back?
I have done it using GridView. But facing problem using Datalist.
I follow the url to do it using GridView.

I want in my web application that when user opens the website, the very first screen should be a login modal pop up in the centre of the page and every thing around should be transparently black. This screen will take inputs i.e, ID and PW to login and will show other options like to register or visit as a guest.

I wish to write a modal dialog box for my project, similar to this http://obout.com/editor_new/howto_sc.aspx.Which is very simple:When a user click on a button, the page will make a call to a web service and when it is done,a Movable Modal Dialog box will show and populated with my data, along with buttons and scripts for those buttons. It seems that the panel and popup extender can show the popup but it is not movable.Should I do it with AJAX tool kit or using pure Javascript, I see a few sample on the web, but it is kind OF complicated.

Using the FileUpload Control, I know I can get the size of a file using: PostedFile.ContentLength. Using VB, is there a way to show Bytes being loaded in Real Time? In other words, if 1000 bytes has already been loading, a Label will show 1000, when 4263 bytes has been loaded a Label shows 4263, etc.

I'm in a Unique position where I have to display one popup above another popup. Problem is that popup B's background does not show above popup A's content and as such you ae still able to click on buttons, ect. on popup A.
I tried to rather disable the Tab Control on popup A with javascript once popup B is displayed, but it only disables textboxes and labels and nothing else.
getting popup B's background to display above popup A or help with disabling all controls (Contained in Tab Control) on popup A?
I have this problem in loading contents of the site where there's a certain time that those elements that supposed to be hidden are shown for a while before the page is completely loaded.
Everything below the dropdown is supposed to be hidden and they show atleast a second that is very noticeable, that I still have the time to have a screen shot. Below is when the content is completely loaded.
Everything inside the content is inside an UpdatePanel, and I am using a jqTransform to transform the form elements. I know that jqTransform is called after all elements is loaded, but I just don't understand why it is showing the hidden elements before the page is completely loaded.
Is there any work around this one that I will only show directly the completely loaded page instead of showing the hidden elements before hiding them?
FYI: Elements hidden will be shown according to the value selected on the dropdown. If the element is hidden before the jqTransform is called, once I show them back, it is unusable or cut off.
I've watched Joes video on [How Do I:] Use the ASP.NET AJAX Timer Control? I'm trying to do a similar thing but using this control on a Masterpage. I then create Content page from the master, but the banners do not show on this page.
View 6 RepliesI'm using modal popup extender and panel with calendar in it. Click the "Next / Previous Month" closes the modal popup. How do I tell the modal popup to ignore click events in a calendar control inside the panel targeted for popup? I'm confused because when using extender before, you had to click OkButton or Cancel to close popup. I have update panel for reason. I just minimized the code for easy review.

this works great on my dev machine, but not working on godaddy.com. Every time I clicked on the image, the page is just loaded itself instead of going to the previewphoto.aspx page.
<img id="ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_ImgPhoto" class="ImgPhoto" onclick="<!--ow.open('../member/previewphoto.aspx?uid=676971b9-ca9e-463e-8b48-6b5d5b1b01c2&id=22', 'child', 'scrollbars,width=650,height=600--> return false" src="../Photos/../photos/UserLock.png" style="height:100px;width:100px;border-width:0px;" /><br /><br />

I am working with a textbox in ASP.NET and I added a JavaScript that pop up Calendar control on "OnClick" event (I am using window.open() to open the popup). Is there any way I could show the popup right under the textbox?
View 2 Replies I am using a master page which has a table that is used for layout. In one of the cells I have a Accordion control which holds links in each panel to navigate to the various pages. I have a few pages that take some time to load so I was trying to use the update panel progress control, however it seems that you cannot use a hyperlink or a link button as triggers for the update panel or if you can you cannot if it is in an accordion control.
So I am seeking advice on how to show a loading message when the pages load in the content panes.
I implemented yje slide show extender in a normal .aspx page it worked very well. I was GLAD to see that.
But when I tried to implement the same into a content page, which is associated with a master page it certainly changed into SAD.
I am trying to add dynamically a user control I created to an aspx page after it is loaded. I tried sending an ajax request to a handler that used RenderControl function and sent back the control's html. I appended it to the DOM using javascript.
The problem is that some of the controls must go through their Page_Load function and that doesn't happen when using RenderControl function.
I have a modal popup with an image cropping tool I wrote in JavaScript and it passes the coordinates to the codebehind on postback. Anywho... for some reason when I call the Show() method the modal popup is rendered 3/4 of the way down the screen. I checked firebug to see what CSS might be conflicting but found nothing to be conflicting with it. If I enable the reposition modes it will adjust to the correct position on scroll or resize but not when it is rendered.

i have a requirement to show javascript Ok/Cancel option on page load. So, when the user is redirected from the previous page to this page, based on some logic in the query string, we have to display javascript OK/Cancel (page is not yet rendered here). Once the user clicks, we have to load different type of data (server side execution) based on OK/Cancel. what is the best way of accomplishing this task?
