View 4 RepliesI am using an access database to store my data. I have Add page which inserts data in the database. Also i have created an Edit page to read and then edit the data. In both these pages I am using FCKEditor. So I can take HTML values and insert in the database for a field called Desciption. Now when I am inserting a data having a long value for theDescription field and then editing that data using the Edit page the Description field get locked and the update command doesn't work. This happens for a data having a longDescription value. I have used the datatype Memo for Description field

View 2 Repliesi have an ASP.NET website which is using a filestream to read in a PDF image from a UNC share on a remote server 2003 box.
i attempt to load the file on the site (which simply embeds a PDF viewer on the site) but when i debug the code, it's throwing a security exception when i attempt to access the file. saying "access to ___ path is denied".
so... i granted access to the UNC path directory to the ASPNET user. i also granted access to the user that's specified for anonymous access in the site itself in IIS.
nothing.
however, i grant "everybody" access and the file comes through.
so, i need to know WHO is trying to access the file. the assumption is either the ASPNET user or the anonymous user setup in IIS. neither of which is gaining access. i tried to set up file auditing on the server2003 box but it's not logging a failure in the security event log when i get an access denied exception.

I'm trying to put a registration page together in Visual Web Designer.
I would like to send a confirmation Email after someone is leaving his registration data and pressing the INSERT button.
The key fields in my database are: Email, Name, Surname, Address
Before I send the confirmation Email I would like to check if the email value entered in the form is realy added to the database.
I was copy past already some C code in my page, therefore it will be fine if the code can be in C.
- checking if record is realy added to database after pressing INSERT button
- setup the confirmation Email
For MS Access, how to check if the particular field data exist?
View 4 RepliesI have a webpage that you pass in an id parameter (via a querystring), which it then uses to fetch data from a database. Typically, a user would navigate to this page from another page that lists only those records that the user has access to. However, if they go directly to the page by typing in the URL in the Address Bar, they can effectively view any record they like. to type something like http://localhost/TestSite/ClientAdmin/ManageLocation.aspx?LocationID=5 into their Address Bar, they can access the database record with the LocationID equal to five - even though they shouldn't have access to it
View 2 RepliesI have a gridview that contains check box in first column for each row. I also have a check box outside the grid view called >>>>
<asp:CheckBox ID="chkSelectAll" runat="server" Text="Select All" AutoPostBack="true"
OnCheckedChanged="chkSelectAll_CheckedChanged" />
I either can select more than one checkboxes from gridview then click on a button to get the number of checkboxes selected OR I click on SelectAll checkbox ( which is outside the gridview ) which check all the checkboxes in the gridview and give me the number of checkedboxes. When I select inidividual checkboxes inside the gridview, th e count of number of checkboxes is correct ( displayed in a lable ) However;
When I click "SelectAll" check box, it give me total of all checkboxes chekced in the
gridview + 1 ( extra ) I am trying to get rid of this extra one by checking if this "Allcheckbox" is selected to so I subtract one from the total count .. like this
// java code ... code not shown does capture the total count into c variable
varAllChecked = document.getElementById('chkSelectAll');
if (varAllChecked.checked== true)
litCount.innerText = c - 1;
else
litCount.innerText = c;
I have an access database where when the record is updated I would like to automatically check a box and update the date to the current date in an Access 2002-2003 database. I've tried this for several days without any resolution and can't find anything that works on the net. ...I'm new at this.

View 2 RepliesI have a web service. When called, the web service creates a folder and files on another specified server in our network. When the command executes, I keep getting a crash. Basically, it says the ASPNET account is locked out. I unlock it and try again. Same thing.I tried using impersonate in the web.config, and it still tried to get into the server as ASPNET.The web server hosting the web service has Anonymous access enabled, allows the IIS to control the passworld, and also has intergrated Windows Authentication checked.
View 1 RepliesI have some pdf files that get attached to emails and are emailed out through a web application. Sometimes this causes the PDF files to get locked and I cannot delete them from the server (even after the email has gone out). I get the message "The process cannot access the file 'D:myfile.pdf' because it is being used by another process".

View 1 RepliesWe have a web application running which having around 100 users logged in, All clients are connected to server using websync. I was having requirement for keeping the session always live, so I am regenerating session when it is about to expire.

View 3 RepliesIs this piece of code where I lock a part of the function correct? Or can it have use drawbacks when multiple sessions ask concurrently for the same Exam? Purpose is that client that first asks for the Exam will assemble it, all next clients will get the cached version.
public Exam GetExamByExamDto(ExamDTO examDto, int languageId)
{
Log.Warn("GetExamByExamDto");
lock (LockString)
{
if (!ContainsExam(examDto.id, languageId))
{
Log.Warn("Assembling ExamDto");
var examAssembler = new ExamAssembler();
var exam = examAssembler.createExam(examDto);
if (AddToCache(exam))
{
_examDictionary.Add(examDto.id + "_" + languageId, exam);
}
Log.Warn("Returning non cached ExamDto");
return exam;
}
}
Log.Warn("Returning cached ExamDto");
return _examDictionary[examDto.id + "_" + languageId];
}
I have a feeling that this isn't the way to do it.
