my website need a function to allow domain users jump over the login page and directly access the contents of the site. but for other users which there are not in the domain or they are not the member of the domain then they have to login the website through the login page.
this is different with ask user login to the domain through a login page. the website must distinguish is the user a domain user and the user name in the domain or not when the user first time access website.

I am new to web forms, but how can I populate a web form (form fields i.e. name, job title, tel no etc) with that users information automatically taken from their active directory profile? It wouldd be an Intranet application so all users would be on the domain. How is this done in ASP.net? In Coldfusion I would set the following variable
<cfset user = listLast(cgi.REMOTE_USER,"") > which would grab the user id from AD
Then I would query an employee DB matching up the userid to gather their employee info

and then set variables which I would use to populate the form fields further down the page

I am looking at displaying certain information from Active Directory within an ASP.NET web page/application to allow users of my organisation to update thCe specified fields. I have searched the internet for help and found windows forms based information, but nothing to really help me with ASP.NET, and anything that could possibly be of any assistance to me is written in C#. I have already built a logon form that hands forms based authentication against AD, and now want to display that authenticated user information.

We had few distribution groups in our AD for emailing. To provide access to my application i use these groups to generate the license keys.
Microsoft clearly says "Distribution groups play no role in security (you do not assign permissions to distribution groups), and you cannot use them to filter Group Policy settings."
Is there any way to get the token access for the Distribution groups?

I need to get the list of domain usrs. The users not necessorily be on the domain where I am logged in. (e.g. I am logged in on domain "Dom111" but I need the list of users from the domain "Dom222")
I want this information on the basis of following -
1) Name of the Domain
2) A valid User name (of-course with Admin rights for the Target domain) and password
I am trying to use the following code -
DirectoryContext dc = new DirectoryContext(DirectoryContextType.Domain, "Dom222", "Administrator", "password");
Domain domain = Domain.GetDomain(dc);
DirectoryEntry de = domain.GetDirectoryEntry();

Here is the FillList function

This works fine for the domain where I logged in (i.e. Dom111) but for the other domain (Dom222), while executing the statement - Domain domain = Domain.GetDomain(dc); I am getting the error saying "The specified domain does not exist or cannot be contacted."
Now, For creating the dc if I use following - DirectoryContext dcTemp = new DirectoryContext(DirectoryContextType.DirectoryServer, "Server_dom222", "administrator", "password");
Then everything works fine. But as you can see I need to pass the "Domain Controller (Server) Name"which I want to avoid.

I have read countless forums and found nothing so for so apparently what I need is an unusual request.I need a code snippet that will iterate through an AD domain account and display all properties for a given user.Has anyone ever built such a script?
If there is a code snippet that displays just the available properties of a user object, this would be sufficient. I am trying to build an application to add users to our LDAP and need to populate all our specific values however I don't have the specific property names to populate.

I need an idea please, i have the task of disabling the Domain Administrator account, but we have a very messed up AC and im practilly new employee here. The administrator account has been used on several services, servers, print servers, etc. Across the network and sites. All our intersite communication is perfect.So what i want is a way to know in which devices this account is configured.Is there a way or tool, where i can input the account, and the output should be a list of servers, ip adresses or devices where the account is configured?

I want to store a X509 certificate to a user store in Novell viathe ".NET C# LDAP Library" that Novell has developed [URL]I can store different entries like givenName, commonName, mail, description etc. etc. Everythings works fine :)But I can't store a certificate correctly because the final encoding of the certificate will be failed.I've tried to send the entire certificate as HEX and Base64 in strings and bytes but the final encoding will still be failed.

I'm trying to get the groups a user is member of from an Open Ldap using vb.net 3.5.
Although so far I have managed to connect to the ldap server and get the user's info like sn, givenname, description, mail, adspath,
I have absolutely no information about the user's groups.
My code is like this:

Am I doing something wrong? Should I use System.DirectoryServices.Protocols as I saw someone mentioning instead
of System.DirectoryServices or is .Protocols just for Framework 2.0?

How to authenticate an user against a particular OU in Active Directory. If the AD holds 50 OUs I don't want to look into all 50 OUs , instead it should look into a particular OU( for eg: OU=dotnet users) to authenticate the user.

I have a local computer (win XP2) with computer name PC1 is already joined to the DC. in PC1 I login with account (user: abc, passs: 1234567) was created on the DC to log on to domain. I am using System.directory services namespace in framework 2 to query active directory. I have used fixed user account impersonisation in the web.config file, find the code:
<identity impersonate="true" userName="enterprise ang09" password="Telcome123"/>
<authentication mode="Windows"/>
I have disabled anonymous access in IIS. Also i have given Read & write access to the account tang09 for the website virtual directory and Microsoft.NET folder located in windows folder. But still i get prompted for the domain username and password to access the website.

My System Have 2 Computer:
Frist Computer act as A domain Controller that has a Active Directory,RADIUS Server,DHCP and DNS
Second Computer act as A Web Server and use Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008
I create a website to add user in active directory. I have 3 file:
1.Default.aspx - Let user fill their privacy information
2.ViewRegisterdata.aspx - Let user confirm their information before it's added to active directory. In this file,there is a Viewregisterdata.aspx.cs which collect user information and send to Class1.cs when users click confirm button.
3.Class1.cs - Do the process in adding user in active directory
I have a problem with a second and third files. When I run the website and go to a second page that is a ViewRegisterdata.aspx and then press a confirm button,it shows an error.
Although I inactivate a code section that do adding user to active directory and write a code to show a value that is sent from A ViewRegisterdata.aspx,It still shows a ViewDataregister.aspx and not show a Windows console.It seems it cannot send user information from a ViewRegisterData.aspx despite I include a Class1.cs into the file already

I'm working on a portal, and I need to check users conection on the ldap.
And if users are members of a special group then it works.

My point is : my ldap path seems good, no error anymore, when I log with my username and password.But when I querry it, it returns null, but I'm sure my user is in the group :
