I have just recently converted my VB code to C# and now having this error when I try to add an item to my listbox, and the value is coming from the item page. I get the error at this segement:
lstboxCart.Items.Add(cartItem.Display());
My listbox is supposed to add the product's name, quantity, and price onto one row.
Here's what I have so far:
[code]...
[Code]....
[Code]....
My guess is that the source of the problem could be in the foreach loop from my cart class, shouldn't I be using that for arrays only? If I need to post any markup code or any other class, let me know.

I need to group the table according to the Month in the table.
The query goes this way:
var query =
from a in db.Dates
from b in db.Facts
where a.Count_Key == b.Date_key
select new
{
a.Month,
b.Fact_key
};
From this query I try to group by Month
query = query.GroupBy(x => x.Month);
Grid1.DataSource = query;
Grid1.DataBind();
Then I get the following error which says:
Cannot implicitly convert IGrouping int ? into IQueryable

Does anyone know of a control or a way to render a group of object relationships like visio? Right now I just have them sitting inside nested divs, but it's not as slick as everything being connected with lines in a flow

I have trawled through the entire web and found that most examples show how to add a total to the footer.
However, I am not after this and I want to add a total for the column 'Office sqm' for each group of addresses ONLY when the value of the 'Summed' is equal to Yes.

I am fairly new to ASP.Net and web programming in general and I am having issues trying to add values from a dropdown list in my gridview to another table.
Here is my scenario. I have 2 tables in my SQL Express DB. When editing the values of table2 in a gridview, I would like to show some data from table1 in a dropdown so users can select a value from table 1 and enter that value in table 2.
I have the Gridview setup to show table2 data.
I created a field template and inserted my dropdown list and linked it to my table1 data source.
When I run my web form, I can click to edit one of the fields in the gridview, and my dropdown list correctly displays the data from table 1, but when I try to update the table2 with the dropdown value, it doesn't correctly update. The row in table2 never updates.
posting the dropdown value from table 1 into the appropriate field in table2..
Again, I am new to this and have been following the tutorials etc on this site, but can't find one pertaining to this topic.

I have two tables for storing language translations - tblEN and tblES. They have the same structure which is nvcEnglish and nvcLocal - both nVarChar fields.
In nvcLocal of the Spanish table, I enter the Spanish translations of words and phrases used within my app. Problem is, when I add a bunch of new records to the English table I also have to go in and repeat the data entry into the Spanish table. I am wondering if there is a way to import the newly added records into the Spanish table using Transact SQL?The plain language query would be something like:
If the data in tblEN.nvcEnglish does not exist in tblES.nvcEnglish then insert a new row into tblES with the values from tblEN

I have an asp:Table and around the mid point of the table there is a DDL with values 2-5. What I want to do is add the selected amount of rows using AJAX right after the table row that has the DDL in it. I know how to dynamicly crate the rows, the info in the rows, and how to use AJAX to make things. Problem is I can not put the ContentTemplate tag inbetween the asp:TableRow which would mark the location I want the dynamic rows to start being added. I did some searching on here but most posts I find start with making the table from code and not the asp:Table tag

I'm using a linq group by query (with two grouping parameters) and would like to use the resulting data in a nested repeater.
var dateGroups = from row in data.AsEnumerable()
group row by new { StartDate = row["StartDate"], EndDate = row["EndDate"] };
"data" is a DataTable from an SqlDataAdapter-filled DataSet. "dateGroups" is used in the parent repeater, and I can access the group keys using Eval("key.StartDate") and Eval("key.EndDate").
Since dateGroups actually contains all the data rows grouped neatly by Start/End date, I'd like to access those rows to display the data in a child repeater. To what would I set the child repeater's DataSource? I have tried every expression in markup I could think of; I think the problem is that I'm trying to access an anonymous member (and I don't know how.) In case it doesn't turn out to be obvious, what would be the expression to access the elements in each iteration of the child repeater? Is there an expression that would let me set the DataSource in the markup, or will it have to be in the codebehind on some event in the parent repeater?

Stack-Overflow :3 I've got a kind of hard-case question.
So I'll try clearly explain my idea with my poor english :/ need select to DataTable SOME values from ???_**GetDisplayData **procedure for each day of previos month (GROUP IT) where group rules for different columns is different
I need to select some values in stored procedure from other stored procedure like this :
SELECT X FROM Y_Procedure(@ProcedureParameters)Also I need to select from dynamic SQL Procedure like
Y_Procedure=@Y+'_Procedure'
SELECT X FROM Y_Procedure(@ProcedureParameters)
Also I need to load it to DataTable :-/INSERT INTO @Report (CellHorizontal, CellVertical, CellValue) --to TABLE
SELECT Date,X2,X3 FROM Y_GetDisplayData(@Param)
SET NOCOUNT OFF;
SELECT *
FROM @Report
GetDisplayData works as select with parameters and that doesn't returns SQL DataTable
And there is no way to recode GetDisplayData's procedures, it's just constant procedures for me.Finally I need to Group nodes from this table
INSERT INTO @Report (CellHorizontal, CellVertical, CellValue)
SELECT T1.Date,
IF ((Select grouptype...)=1) T1.X2 + T2.X2
ELSE IF ((Select grouptype...)=2) AVG(T1.X2,T2.X2),
IF ((Select grouptype...)=1) T1.X3 + T2.X3
ELSE IF ((Select grouptype...)=2) AVG(T1.X3,T2.X3),
(SELECT T2.Date,X2,X3 FROM Y_GetDisplayData(@Param) T2
WHERE T2.Date>T1.Date AND T2.Date>=T1.Date)
FROM Y_GetDisplayData(@Param) T1
GROUP BY EVERY DAY ???--and here is epic fail
I can make all stuff on asp server :And C# allows me to use something like SelectCommand = IzmProc + "_GetDisplayData"; And then I will work (select special data) with DataTables on ASP.NET Server but it's better to make all on SQL ... But looking like it's just unrealizable on SQL >_<
I gonna think about C# realization,but my code is very weird , got errors and doesn't works >_<
public static DataTable GetReport(string Param)
{
System.Configuration.ConnectionStringSettings connSetting = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["FlowServerConnectionString"]; [code].....

My situation is as follows:
I do some filtering on the IQueryable<MyType> object using the Contains() function in Linq, which in effect adds: MyColumn LIKE '%@MyParameter%' to the linq requestI want to make the function more generic, which could operate on a IQueryable object of an unknown type. In such case I do not know the type yet, therefore I can not add a standard .Contains() function. All I have present are the IQueryable object, the MyColumn and MyParameter as a string text. I need to be able to add "MyColumn LIKE '%@MyParameter%'" to the Linq object, dynamically ...
How can I write a piece of code that would run the Contains() on the IQueryable, knowing the Column name (as string) and the parameter value (as a string too) - I basically want to add this: MyColumn LIKE '%@MyParameter%' to the Linq where clause.
I have found something doing the .Where() function dynamically, but I do not entirely understand what is happening in there, so I struggle to convert it to Contains():
[Code]....
adding dynamic .Contains() to the IQueryable object only using the string column name and the string value

How can I add rows in a table from server-side?
if (!Page.IsPostBack)
{
Session["table"] = TableId;
}
else
{
TableId = (Table)Session["table"];
}
protected void btnAddinRow_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
num_row = (TableId.Rows).Count;
TableRow r = new TableRow();
TableCell c1 = new TableCell();
TableCell c2 = new TableCell();
TextBox t = new TextBox();
t.ID = "textID" + num_row;
t.EnableViewState = true;
r.ID = "newRow" + num_row;
c1.ID = "newC1" + num_row;
c2.ID = "newC2" + num_row;
c1.Text = "New Cell - " + num_row;
c2.Controls.Add(t);
r.Cells.Add(c1);
r.Cells.Add(c2);
TableId.Rows.Add(r);
Session["table"] = TableId;
}
in debug I found out the number in the "TableID", but the rows are not drawn. Have you got an idea about this issue?

I use the Entity framework to map an SQL Server database to objects. The EF is then used to fill a Dynamic Data Site. There are 50+ tables and layout isn't really important. Allowing the users to use it for quick data entry while keeping the amount of code as low as possible is.
Basically, I have four work-hours to find a solution to filter some of the tables on the first letter of one (or more) of the fields. (One filter per field.) When I have one, I have another 4 hours to implement it. Any time I spend more on this will not be compensated.
I have full control over the code, the database structure and whatever else. However, I am limited to .NET 3.5/Visual Studio 2008 and am not allowed to include MVC. I'm also not allowed to add more libraries. Can't upgrade to .NET 4.0 either. So, how can I add such filters in a minimum number of hours?
