I'm developing an ASP.NET MVC application with AJAX.
I have the following code in the View:
<% using(Html.BeginForm(null, "Home", FormMethod.Post, new{id="formcpf"})){ %>
<p>
<input name="tipo" type="radio" value="GeraCPF" /> CPF
[code]....
in Firefox and Chrome works fine, but in IE7 sometimes returns the value into the label, sometimes not. I have to keep submiting to get the return.
The following code is an example for the book Book Ajax Hacks by Bruce W. Perry.
When executed the code works correctly in Internet Explorer 8
However when I run the same code in firefox 3.5.7 when it hits the following line
if (request.status == 200) it returns 0 and I see the

I regularly run into the following error in my .NET 4.0 web application:

I found that the issue was already reported here: [URL], but there is no solution provided anywhere (at least, I didn't find it).
I am trying to implement the webrequest get and post methods. I am accessing a secure site that requires login authentication and was told that instead of sending a login request all the time; login to the site and capture the cookie and use this to send it in the header to get results from the page. In other words let us use google for example. Lets say google required u to login before searching for something. Now I login through my browser and leave the site logged in. Now I send a httwebrequest from my program that includes the cookie authentication details in the request header and get results for say ?param=sports. Now when I increment the page number like &page=3, I am still only getting page 1 results.
Here is some code:
[Code]....
Now I am using the request method GET. This is in the actual request header from the original request.

I have a class TicketOrder. It's not recognizing my lstSectionNumber (Tickets.TicketForm.lastSectionNumber is inaccessible due to its protection level).
Here is the code for TicketOrder class:
public class TicketOrder
{
public TicketOrder(TicketForm form)
{
this.form = form;
}
//Declare static variables
[Code] .....
This is my code behind:
public partial class TicketForm : System.Web.UI.Page
{
//Declare variables
int myInt;
TicketUser user = new TicketUser();
TicketOrder order;

I've got an entity that inherits from another, but for some reason the entity that is inheriting isn't showing as an available object? The parent entity is "Customer" and the child entity is called "RetailCustomer", but only "Customer" will show in intellisense as being available? I'm currently using:
[Code]....
And really need to be using something like this...
[Code]....
but VS comes back telling me that RetailCustomers isn't a member of my Entities Context.
I've got a few ComboBoxes on a page which worked fine before. I can't recall making any changes to the form but now I get an "Object Expected" javascript error when the page loads and the comboxes don't load/work.
On debugging from IE, the highlighted error is in MicrosoftAjax.js in the piece of code
var a=g?new h(g):new h
Ik keep getting this sort of errors when using Ajax controls.The colorpicker extender and the Cascaded dropdown generate this kind of error in my application.I have a scriptmanager in my masterpage.I already tried using a scriptmanager proxy.What could cause these errors?I have the controls inside template fields of data presentation controls.
View 2 RepliesI am generating an Excel file upon a click of a button in an update panel. It is throwing a parsing error.
If I keep the button outside the update panel it is working fine. Why isn't it working in the update Panel?
Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel"
Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition",
String.Format("attachment;filename={0}", filename))
Response.Clear()
Response.BinaryWrite(WriteToStream.GetBuffer)
HttpContext.Current.ApplicationInstance.CompleteRequest()
Private Function WriteToStream() As MemoryStream
'Write the stream data of workbook to the root directory
Dim file As MemoryStream = New MemoryStream
hssfworkbook.Write(file)
Return file
End Function
I'm beginner in AJAX. I was developing an ASP.Net Web-Site (MVS 2008, ASP.Net version 2.0.50727), so on current step I need pop-up windows with server code functionality. I decided to try AJAX. I have downloaded the latest version AjaxControlToolkit.Binary.NET35, added dll to Bin folder, and writed code as:
[Code]....
I use ScriptManager coz I can't compile project with ToolkitScriptManager. When I start web site I can't get the expected result, only I get script error message like "Object doesn't support property or method".
While testing an AJAX enabled web app I sometimes stumbled upon this script error: 'this.get_element().style' is null or not an object. It was a hard nut to crack this one.This was the actual message
'this.get_element() is null or not an object'
The situation:AJAX Enabled web app using slider extenders . In some circumstances a script error is generated. In most cases it is not.
The reason:It turned out that the error happens at times when a new Postback is triggered while a previous one hasnt finished yet. That is quickly changing the sliderhandle's position in this scenario. The Postback where triggered because i had set the AutoPostBack property of the extended TextBox to "true".I have some code running inside the event handler
I Have this error when click on a button to open a popup box in my page:
"object required"
Here is my code:
<%@ Page Language="VB" MasterPageFile="~/artm.master" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="artm_principal.aspx.vb" Inherits="artm_principal" title="Principal" Debug="true" MaintainScrollPositionOnPostback="true"%>
<%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="AJT" %>
[code]....
When I get an Object Ref error, it can sometimes be a real pain to find out which variable is causing the error (when you can't debug). Is there a way for this error to throw the classname that isn't assigned?

View 1 RepliesThis is the following structure of my solution explorer.
base directory -> i have a login.aspx and a reference directory which refers to ajax toolkit. The ajax toolkit works fine here.
private directory -> i have my homepage but the ajax toolkit doesn't work here. the above error is shown at this location :-
(function() {var fn = function() {$get('ToolkitScriptManager1_HiddenField').value = '';Sys.Application.remove_init(fn);};Sys.Application.add_init(fn);})();Sys.Application.initialize();
Sys.Application.add_init(function() {
$create(Sys.Extended.UI.TabPanel, {"headerTab":$get("__tab_TabContainer1_TabPanel1"),"ownerID":"TabContainer1"}, null, {"owner":"TabContainer1"}, $get("TabContainer1_TabPanel1"));
});
I have one web.config in the private folder . This is the structure :-
<configuration>
<appSettings/>
<connectionStrings/>
<system.web>
<authorization>
<deny users="?" />
<allow users="*" />
</authorization>
</system.web>
</configuration>
If i allow all users to access this folder or remove this web.config file, then the ajax toolkit works. I need to protect this folder and i am using form authentication. Could someone point me where i went wrong. Kindly keep in mind that i am new to asp.net.
i use accordion from ajax toolkit it work correctly when i use outputcash it gives me this error:
Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'Sys.Extended.UI' is null or not an object

I am getting this error in my UpdatePanelAnimationExtender. it onluy happens when i se controls that are outside gridview?
View 2 RepliesI decided to use the CalendarExtender on a project and I converted it from VS 2005 to Web Developer 2010 Express. I initially added the AJAX toolkit for ASP.NET 4.0 and the calendar extender worked fine. However, I realised that the server didn't have ASP.NET 4.0 installed and I thought it would be simpler to add the toolkit for 3.5 instead and change the target framework to 3.5. I tried and then the CalendarExtender did't work at all. When you click the textbox nothing happens. There is the error on page - 'sys.extended.ui.textboxwrapper is null or not an object'
I tried switching the project back to 4.0 and using the other one and that no longer works for some reason. The same in 2008 Web Developer Express. I've clearly done something wrong along the way, but I can't work out what it is.
Here's the source for a page on a test Web Developer 2008 Express project.

I am using some AJAX and some JQuery for Login panel animation in Master page.Also in my home page I am using AJAX Tab container.It works fine when I run the application without login.If I logged in I got the following error when I put the breakpoint into my code,
Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'document.getElementById(...)' is null or not an object,It shows at the following Line at the Home[dynamic] page.
document.getElementById('ctl00_sdfsf').dispose = function() {
Array.remove(Page_ValidationSummaries, document.getElementById('ctl00_sdfsf'));
}
how can i convert the particular postquery to my Post object , so it can be added to the list posts .

I have been using the RemotePost Class( as per http://www.jigar.net/articles/viewhtmlcontent78.aspx) to post a form to a pay provider, for about 3 months successfully, I made some changes external from the call to this class that sent an email when user presses the button to notify us that the user has selected to go through to the pay provider (similar to PayPal). and suddenly got an exception error MSCROLIB, Thread was being aborted. I have since removed the code and I still get the error it happens when I call
[Code]....
I tried the suggestion on KB article [URL]/ but the control is not past to the Pay Provider I also took the actual response that is written and posted it to a new html file added a submit button and it works. So I am no stuck. The Pay provider claims they have changed nothing, and has tried to help but says they are receiving no input from either our dev site or the live site.I also tried to step into the call but it just throughs the exception
I have two model classes:
public class UserModel
{
public Guid Id { get; set; }
public string EmailAddress { get; set; }
public string LoginName { get; set; }
public string Password { get; set; }
}
public class GroupModel
{
public Guid Id { get; set; }
public string Name { get; set; }
public List<UserModel> Users { get; set; }
}
I created a View (Create.Aspx) by inheriting GroupModel class.
<%@ Page Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<MyApp.Models.GroupModel>" %>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head runat="server">
<title>Create</title>
</head>
<body>
<% using (Html.BeginForm()) {%>
<%: Html.ValidationSummary(true) %>
<fieldset>
<legend>Fields</legend>
<div class="editor-label">
<%: Html.LabelFor(model => model.Id) %>
</div>
<div class="editor-field">
<%: Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.Id) %>
<%: Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.Id) %>
</div>
<div class="editor-label">
<%: Html.LabelFor(model => model.Name) %>
</div>
<div class="editor-field">
<%: Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.Name) %>
<%: Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.Name) %>
</div>
<p>
<input type="submit" value="Create" />
</p>
</fieldset>
<% } %>
<div>
<%: Html.ActionLink("Back to List", "Index") %>
</div>
</body>
</html>
It is generating only two fields (Id, Name) in my aspx view. Also I am able to get the form data in the Model class object in ё[HttpPost]ё request which contains the data for ID and NAME field in controller.
[HttpPost]
public ActionResult Create(GroupModel groupModel)
{
try
{
// TODO: Add insert logic here
return RedirectToAction("Index");
}
catch
{
return View();
}
}
How can I get the data in List<UserModel> object? I am thinking to Put a List control with checkboxes containing Users. Then catch them using FormCollection object in controller.
I'm using ASP.Net and whenever I create a script file or try to include a script file like jQuery they aren't working. I am doing just a regular localhost server and none of the scripts are working. Upon further examination using firebug I look at whats being referenced in those scripts and it shows html code for a 404 error. I know the scripts and files are there and I can navigate directly to them in the browser but for some reason I can't reference them in my page.
Here is a screenshot:
In the VS2005 environment, when I test my session to make sure the page redirects to the main page (itself) if the session is null, it works. There is no error.
The function I use for this is:
[code]....
However, when it is in the production environment in IIS 6.0, when the session has timed out, and I then do a postback by doing some slider control, I see the page reload but immediately thereafter, it throws a Server Error exception of : Object reference not set to an instance of object.
Looking at the stack trace, the event occured:
AJAXEnabledWebApplication1._Default.Slider1_TextChanged(Object sender, EventArgs e)
however, why is it that the Slider1_TextChanged event fired even even after during page_load, the page was told to do a response.direct ?? shouldn't the entire page have gone through a full-page refresh life cycle ? why did it continue on to attempt to raise the Slider1_TextChanged event?
