Auto Call Site When Email Opened

How is it possible to "auto call" a website when an email is opened?
For example, some mail marketing campaign sites offer services to track email clicks and when an email gets opened.
I don't know exactly how they manage to find out when an email gets opened irrespective if they clicked on an link within the email to track clicks.
How does one do this, so when an email gets opened, a silent call is made to a page in the background to indicate that the email has been opened?

I use my web app on the wall as a dashboard type scenario. One thing that would look great would be to automatically move between pages on my site (and maybe others) after a certain time. For example, you setup page x for 2 mins, then page y for 2 mins then page z for 4 mins. Now, I can do this easily inside my existing website. However, I would like to be able to switch to other sites with login where required. So basically a website of its own that just diverts according to a script. Has anyone seen anything like this on the market or have concepts similar?
Note, my webspages are ajax-ified so any timers would not be allowed to interupt updated.

i need a small help in stored procedure, Its about automatic email remainder to the officer,i have two fields in the table one is status and another field is date of which when that status filed in the database.assume if the status is 1 for 30 days and not changed in 30 days from the date i need to send an email from stored procedure.
i sended a mail from stored procedure succesfully but the prob is i dont know to set remainder for 30 days.

I want to create functionality for "To and CC" textboxes used in sending email.
When I type any name in "To or CC" textbox, list of names should appear automatically. How to do this.
I want to avoid Javascript code for this functionality. Just in case if there is no solution way except using Javascript then only I can use it. How to achieve this task.

I am generating a new report page by using the following code.

But, the above script is used in more than 20 parameter page which ultimately always open the same Report_preview.Aspx page.
What i want to check while running the above script is "give a warning if the Report_preview.Aspx is already opened"

I keep watching instructional videos that utilize the VWDE 2008, which apparently did NOT start web projects with a site master. It only created the defaults but did not create a site master nor did it create the directives in the @page.
I'd like the option of doing this in 2010. Is there some configuration setting that controls this?

I have a requirement that whenever a user logs onto a website using forms based authentication [FBA] that the site checks whether they have a related domain NT user record. There will be a matching lookup table between the ASPNETDB membership database and related domain accounts for users.Whenever an FBA user logs in and a related domain account is located then the member should be redirected to an alternative site / URL which is Windows NT authenticated rather than FBA. Before transferring them I would like to be able to pre authenticate them on the windows domain rather than an additional NT Login dialog box coming up and asking them to enter the related NT credentials.Is it possible to programatically preauthenticate using NT credentials before redirecting a user to an NT authenticated site?Note: This isn't technically a single sign on style scenario. The FBA / NT authenticated sites are not related other than the relationship between the original FBA credentials and the NT credentials lookup.

I have a local computer (win XP2) with computer name PC1 is already joined to the DC. in PC1 I login with account (user: abc, passs: 1234567) was created on the DC to log on to domain. Im about to develop a site which will need 2 types of email function: the first will be simple enough, just a realtime email using system.net.mail when certain conditions are met in the underlying DB. the second is to send out an email at the end of each day covering everything that happened during the day. WOuld that have to be set up as a scheduled task?

I have a feedback form that should send an email to the site Admin. This is just on my laptop in development stage and not on a server, but I think it still should function with my personal email account settings, shouldn't it? Everything seems to work fine - there are no error messages. But no emails are received in my testing.

I have a Site.Master in my ASP.NET project which defines a HEAD section as follows

In the mycode.js file, I have a function called GetSels();

If the GetSels function is defined in Site.Master, GetSels is callable. If it's in mycode.js, it's not. Every code example I've seen seems to say this should work.

The host I use for our site lets us schedule a task, we can pointo the site and a file on the site. I'm not clear on how to make the file I point to actualy do something like run a stored procedure or send and smtp email or run some code in my app.
