I have a gridview where i have a radio button. What i need is to on the selection of the radiobutton i have to find the datakey of the gridview. Also one more issue with that is , i can select more than one radio button, which should not happen.
I have seen some other posts on how to get this working ... however none of them seem to be concerned with case where you have sublcassed the GridView as your own custom server control.I am attempting to set these properties to get the GridView to render a thead element but I continually get a null reference exception. Any takers?Here is the DatBind method I overrided
I think I found some bugs on the asp.net 4 RadioButton control rendering.
Firstly, I don't understand why the "Value" property was removed from RadioButton control? What a reason?
Secondary, why the "GroupName" property of RadioButton control changed after render? This property must be a static!!! This situation is a same then we try to use the HtmlInputRadioButton. For example, if we have the aspx file like
i want to generate the output of an asp.net page by reading a text file, get the controls out of the text, change te properties of these controls, render it and displaying it.
How can I do this with a RadioButton? I'd like so that when a user selects the radiobutton, my grid would execute the RowCommandEvent. Is there a way to accomplish this?

I've been watching a video on Scott Hanselmnn teaching MVC 2 tricks/tips. He mentions how MVC 2 by default uses ASP.NET Web Forms view engine to render the output of the views; he mentions that the web forms view engine is a little slower than it could be for MVC 2 since it generates a control tree and then outputs the HTML to the page (I hope I said that right).
I was wondering what he meant by web forms generating a code tree before outputting the HTML to the page. Does anyone have insight on the view engine of Web forms and the steps of the rendering process works for ASP.NET and MVC2?
I have a nested gridview (gridview within gridview) that I need to render beneath the outer gridview.
I keep finding examples online of showing a nested gridview in the last column of the outer gridview but I need to show my nested gridview instead under the outer gridview.
I was certain that I had done this before by putting a row (<TR>) inside the TemplateField so that the nested gridview would display under the outer gridview. I am getting the data ok for the nested gridview, that is not a problem. The only issue I am having is making the inner gridview display under the outer gridview.
btw, the error is below:
<ERROR>
Type 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.TemplateField' does not have a public property named 'tr'.
I have a gridview with rows of data and a group of radio buttons for each row that can be selected. But when selected the event never fires for the radio dropdown.... why?
I'm building a data gridview with a column of radiobutton. I can get the data to bind to the grid but the radiobutton does not appear in the grid under the select column.
I am using an grid in which inside the item template(the first one in which radio button is there). i use link button instead of radiobutton ,when i click on it iam able to edit as the textbox appears, but if i use the radio button,that editing option is not coming;
Here if we remove the radiobutton and insert link button, onclick of the link button we can edit the values, how to do the same operation with the radio button.
I need a Radio Button Select for my gridview which is manually datasourced (manual data set)
I copied this post but converted to vb.net [URL] However, its not working...so I'm not sure if its because I'm missing the conversion of some of the C# to vb.net or if I missing something else.
Does anyone knows how to add a radiobutton column into a dynamic gridview? The problem with the asp.net radiobutton is that in a grid view is not mutually exlusive so actually it would have to be a literal type= "radio "control, but how to add it when the gridview is created dynamially?
Also, once I have the radioButton set up correctly...how can I identified whether that row has the radiobutton checked or not?
i have a website with a radiobutton inside a gridview, i set the groupname in the gridview but when i run the table, the radiobutton did not became exclusive or i can checked = true on all radiobutton. this is my code:
