I tried to deploy a asp.net Hello World Application in free web hosting service called aspspider.com but i have been getting this error.I am pasting the error message below.

I get another error message regarding SQL database.In my project, the database for membership and roles is under App_Data, plus another DB data i created. both DBs are .mdf"A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. my ASP.NET app works fine on my development PC, but when I deploy it on the server, the Forms Authentication won't work. The page is being redirected to the "login.aspx" page, but when I enter a valid username/password and hit the login button, it also goes to the login.aspx page (with no errors and no throw, it keeps like this forever).
I am using the default ASP.NET Membership provider, I have setup the hosting server to be exactly as my PC, so both have same settings of IIS, ASP.NET 4.0 Global Configuration (in IIS), and SQL Server 2005 Express Edition.
I searched for this problem in google and tried several suugestion (like removing the clear() in web.config, manually add the membership/role provider in web.config, change security in the physical folders, etc...) but with no luck.Below is my web.config (which is working fine in my development PC): [Code]....

I don't have any experience in web hosting. Recently I've completed developing my Asp.net website using Visual Studio 2010. The website retrieves financial data from Yahoo! Finance, does analytical calculations in code-behind, stores processed data into several databases, and allows users to analyze the stock market using those data. Currently I need to run some programs in Visual Studio so that new data get downloaded every day.
My problem is that I know nothing about how to do web hosting so I can actually get my website on the Internet. I heard that there are third-party web site hosting services, but do they allow you to upload entire Asp.net web pages with all the databases attached? What if I need to go in there, run some programs, and update some data in the databases, do these web hosting services allow me to do that?
If the answers to the above are yes, what are some good web hosting services that allow you to upload (I don't even know if "upload" is the correct term to use) Asp.Net web pages? By the way, my website is coded in Visual Basic, if it makes any difference.

I am using XAMPP to publish my a .net application. The server is working fine. I created a sample login.aspx file, and it works fine. I deleted the sample login file, and I build and copy all the files to the XAMPP directory. When I tried to acces the page, it gave an error message "Access forbidden! I've called their tech support 3 times this morning and spent over $50 in long distance and have had no results. I was wondering if anybody here has deployed an ASP.NET website with DomainHut.com's hosting services. I've set up my database on their server correctly, all tables, stored procedures and aspnet schema are there just like on my local machine, and I have changed the connection string to point to the correct server, but when I publish the website using the publisher tool to upload the website to www.mhn.co/mhnprofessionalservices but I'm only getting an 500 Internal server error. They have advised me to set <CustomError Mode="on"/> in the Web.Config file, and I have <Compilation debug="false"/> as well.

This is probably a very basic question. I'm a web service newbie. I've created a web service (that runs fine locally) and now I need to put it on our web server so that it can be accessed. How in the heck do I do this? I'll be using IIS 6.1 on a Windows Server 2008 machine. Here's what I've done:
Moved my code to the inetpub/wwwroot/MyService folder(service is now under default web site in IIS as expected)Converted to Application
When I try to browse, it tells me the file can't be found. I'm sure I've either done something wrong or missed a step somewhere.

I have a separate environment for development. On my production server, where we mostly host web applications, we deploy the precompiled version of the web project. While doing development I work on three projects. One is the WCF Service. Two, is the class library project. This library has classes which makes calls on the WCF service. And the third, is a web project which consumes the class library.
The last two projects come under one VS solution. I host the wcf service in the development environment. This service is added as service reference to my class library. I am unable to visualize what will happen once I add the DLL (viz output of the class library project) to my web project, and, the web project has to be deployed. At the time of deployment I have to change the service reference (the url of the svc file will change as it has to point to the production wcf service). How to go about this? What must I take care when adding the dll to the web project?

Used Visual Studio 2008 to publish web app to a local IIS7 Website but still hooked to VS development .mdf file with EF. With this I can successfully access web app via local host. As long as the development db server is running, web access is fine.
Then I tried to change connection to local .SQLEXPRESS where I have other databases (this is my production server). I have replicated the development data into the SQLExpress database already. The connection string appears OK.
The problem is the application's entity data model (.edmx file) is still tied to the development .mdf file.
When I tried to rebuild the entity data model, I can see the production instance in list of db connections but cannot select it. Only the development db objects are available.
So I don't think the problem is related to connecting to the production db. It is more about getting the .edmx file to point to the production table. Either it should migrate over or it needs to be rebuilt. I don't see any MVC deployment pages discussing EF deployments.

I am having 2 solutions:
[1] [URL] (this is a dnn website which contains a web service to be consumed in "xyz" website).
[2] [URL] (this is an asp.net website which consumes web service defined in "abc" website). That means this website is having "Web Reference" folder which contains .wsdl, .disco and .discomap types of files.
Problem is - when I see these files (.disco, .discomap and .wsdl etc files under Web Reference folder), they all are having urls defined like [URL]. That means its fix to "abc" virtual directory ?
What if end user or customer wants to purchase my application but want to have some other name like [URL] (the virtual directory to someother name).
In that case; I assume that I need to "MANUALLY" find [URL] and replace to [URL] ?
OR is there any alternate solution for that?

I am planning to build a news publication website that should be automatically scalable when traffic is increasing. I have good experience in developing web applications using ASP.NET and PHP. To move forward on selection of specific technology here are some questions for which I need some clarifications.
My primary intention is to reduce the hosting charges. If we choose LAMP this will cost lower than ASP.NET on Windows. As my intention is to host web application on cloud service, will this make any difference? Means, for dedicated servers we need to pay extra cost for Windows O/S if you compare it with Linux. If we go for cloud servers, will they charge anything for O/S for each instance or will they just charge on computation hours irrespective of Operating System?
Do we have complete control (like dedicated server) on cloud instance to install any other softwares?
Do we need to host web server and and database server on multiple instances when traffic is increasing or will a big size instance can handle huge traffic?

I was given a compiled asp.net web application v2.0 which was created in visual studio 2005. I have made some changes to the site and created various new classes and made it look abit cooler . On my localhost I go to the Visual Studio Project and click rebuild and its stays that the dll has been successfully and all the dll, pdf have been created again with new modified dates. So when I publish the site to the production server, the site uses the old current dll which doesn't show any of the changes I have made.
I have done the following - Deleted all the files from obj/Debug before rebuilding the site
Made sure there were no files defined in the application which are not there in the local system (apparently this is a bug)
I'm don't know what else to try, I' have used red gates .net decompiler and can see all my new class names so I know what all the extra classes are in the new dll.
One thing I'm not sure about is what 'Build Action' do you need to set for the binxxx.dll, at the moment it is set to 'content' but if I set it 'compile' I get "Error 1 Unable to write to output file

For the last 3 days I struggled to deploy my small asp mvc site on asphostcentral I got the following error wille trying:
could not copy the files on the ftp because I am behind a corporation router and active mode does not work (managed to work around it by copying from a ftp web client)could not run the application because the latest version of asp mvc was not installed, after Could not load file or assembly 'PresentationFramework, Version=3.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35', my guess is that .net 3.5 with sp1 is missing, what do you guys think ?
I can connect to the database server but I get an error when I try to expand databases and get to my database.

Lets say I have a web service installed on ServerA. I also have a web application hosted on ServerB, completely different domain from ServerA. That web application contains a web reference to ServerA's web service, so consumes it. What happens if the WAN connection between ServerA and ServerB goes down, for whatever reason? I'm not clear if, once the web method is coded into the consuming application, that the server hosting the service has to be constantly available or not.
