Configuration :: MailSettings Setup Remote Certificate Is Invalid
Jun 16, 2010
Upon looking up other pages and threads related to this error, they are about HttpExchange, Exchange Web Services etc which is why this has threw me off as I'm sure mine may be related to the setup of mailSettings in the Web.Config - Although, I could be way off :)Although I have setup mailSettings successfully for Gmail accounts for testing purposes, I've been given specific credentials for which to set up to go live, which once there entered and I test locally, I recieve this error message
i have created a mail application as a part of an support application for my company.when enabling ssl it is showing the error as "The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure"when commenting enablessl its working fine and mails are going. i know that the problem is with ssl autentication. i have made no changes to web.config file.
MailMessage msg = new MailMessage(); string[] a = mailto.Text.Split(','); oreach (string str in a) [code]...
when sending email the' asp.net 2.0 i get the above error msg The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure. how to rectify this error msg soemetmes i get this error msg also Mailbox unavailable. The server response was:: bosauthsmtp15: Host :No unauthenticated relaying permitted
The function below works in a console application but it's not working in my asp.net web site. I am getting an error:The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.
public static void SendEmail(MailMessage mm) { SmtpClient smtp = new SmtpClient(); smtp.Host = "smtp.gmail.com"; smtp.Port = 587; smtp.EnableSsl = true; smtp.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("ma@mail.com", "Pass");
provide detailed steps to setup IIS6 could not found good information by googling. Is there free SSL certificates that can be used only to test locally?
I am looking to get the data from any given domain names SSL certificate. For example I want to put in any website address e.g. "www.asp.net" and my code would firstly check if an SSL certificate exists. If it does then I want it to pull out the Issuer, Subject, Valid From and Valid Until etc. The intention is to create an SSL certificate checker similar to this: [URL]
How can I do this ASP.net???? - I have looked up loads of different things such as RequestCertificateValidationCallback and ClientCertificates etc.
would I create a HTTPWebRequest and then somehow request the client certificate and specific elements that way?
I have 2 machines on a domain. The first machine has IIS 6. 0 inatalled on it, whereas the second machine has published web content.
On the local machine ie. Web server i have configured the website like "A Share located on another computer" Eg: //Machine2/Application1. The pubished web content is inside a shared folder on the remote machine. Finally when i run the application in browser(IE 7.0) i get the following error.
Server Application Unavailable
The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable. hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your request.
Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur.
The Error in the Windows event viewer is as follows:
I have a web setup package project alongside an old .asmx web service. When I build it I only get 'MyService.msi' and not the 'Setup.exe' in the 'Release' folder after build. Normally the .msi suffices for installation, but on Windows Server 2008 R2 I am getting denied from installing the .msi pacakge. I can only install .exe packages after right clicking and stating "Install as Administrator".
The server admin is still new to 2008 R2 and not sure why I can't install an .msi because I am an admin, so for now if I knew how to get that web setup package to generate the Setup.exe file as well I see my other VS.NET setup packages create.
I have a secure web site that is accessed by users who are in two different domains. Users from one domain using IE6 to access the site without any problem while users from another domain using IE7 get a popup message asking them to choose a digital certificate. It says "The web site you want to view requests identification.
I have recently upgraded from Windows Server 2003 to Server 2008. All is going well except for an Gmail API I use that's built using ASP.NET.
After configuring the application like I've always done on Server 2003, I keep getting the following error when attempting to access the page:
Unable to open certificate. IWAM_plesk(default) subject: Email Certificate
Exception Details: System.Exception: Unable to open certificate. IWAM_plesk(default) subject: Email Certificate
I have installed the certificate service and it's running... I have granted the IWAM user every possible permission, including making it a member of the Admin group, but still getting the same error.
Let's assume our users in their office using Internet explorer to sign some Web Pages using their client certificate imported into the Internet explorer browser (let s assume no other browser is used)
what is a good approach/architecture for validating the client certificate (Internet Explorer), how to send that certificate or the signed form to the server and how do we verify the signature
Should we use smart client approach integrated to the web application or some silverlight or so or is web form/web pages enough to implement this security requirement ?
I have some inherited code which stores SMTP server, username, password in the system.net/mailSettings/smtp section of the Web.config.
It used to read them like so:
Configuration c = WebConfigurationManager.OpenWebConfiguration(HttpContext.Current.Request.ApplicationPath); MailSettingsSectionGroup settings = (MailSettingsSectionGroup)c.GetSectionGroup("system.net/mailSettings"); return settings.Smtp.Network.Host;
But this was failing when I had to deploy to a medium trust environment. So following the answer from this question, I rewrote it to use GetSection() like so:
I am making a web setup of web application. When i install it on client's machine. It asks me for the IIS to be installed. Now please tell me that is there any way to add IIS in prerequisites of setup.
In one asp.net project, I created a setup project. It is working fine. Is it possible to add SQL scripts(to create database and store procedures) into setup project and run scripts automatically once client user installs the application?
I have made a project based on asp.net and sql server 2005 in visual studio 2008. I want to make a setup such as an exe so that it can be installed in another machine.
I don't know is this correct forum for asking this question or not, but i need it very urgently ,please help me out.I need to create a website setup with the following actions.1. Primarily it should first check whether IIS is installed in local machine or not, if IIS is not installed then it should give an Error Message.2. If IIS is present it should Start Installing with all the Content Files and Web Files and Class Files.3. After Installing all the files in IIS it should ask for the Connection String i.e. from where and which database should be taken as connection string, and it should set this connection string in web.config.4. After all this process it should ask for default page to be opened i.e. Which page should be started as first page.5. Then it should automatically open that website with default set page in browser , to check whether it is working fine or not.
I've just signed up for a MaximumASP MaxV virtual server hosting account. I can remote desktop into the box and am wondering how to configure it to host my website. I do not want to enable any features which I don't need. All I need is to be able to run an ASP.Net 3.5 Web Application, SQL Server 2008 & URL re-writing. What is the minimum set of windows features I need to enable? In what order should features and programs be installed? How will I deploy and configure my web app? How do I configure multiple domains to point to my application?
tried to do a search on this, but it kept timing out on me, so sorry if this has been answered before. In IIS7, I've setup a custom 404 error page, which works if you go to a document, but not if you go to a directory...
I have created a setup application and i want to create my application as an installer application.
I did for testing and while running the setup file this give me the final response is "The installer was interrupted before setup1 could be completed. You need to restart the installer to try again".
