Controls Inside Update Panel And JQuery Form Look And Feel Plugin

Aug 19, 2010

I have a problem with Updating Form Element Look and Feel under Update Panel Control. I Used Uniform JQuery Plugin to shape form controls such as DropDown. it works very well in a ASP.net form but i used an update panel to generate CheckboxList Items when user selects a dropDownList Item. The picture Below Shows form Look and Feel: but when I Select a Category from list to update the UpdatePanel Template and updating CheckBoxes the uniform style removes from controls located inside update panel: I call uniform function above the form:

<script type="text/javascript">
$(function() {
$("input, textarea, select, button").uniform();
});
</script>
and Update Panel Markup:
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server">
<ContentTemplate>
<p>
انتخاب دسته: <myCtrl:CategoryDDL AutoPostback="True" EmptyItemText="همه‌ی دسته‌ها"
ID="CategoryDDL" OnSelectedIndexChanged="CategoryDDL_SelectedIndexChanged" runat="server"
SelectedCategoryId="0" />
</p>
<p>
برند محصولات<br />
<asp:CheckBoxList ID="CheckBoxListBrands" runat="server">
</asp:CheckBoxList>
</p>
</ContentTemplate>
<Triggers>
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="CategoryDDL" />
</Triggers>
</asp:UpdatePanel>

is there any possible way to keeping update panel control style from removing?

FadeOut Label Inside Update Panel With JQuery

Sep 28, 2010

I have this label that i want to fadeOut after button event clicked. I am using a MasterPage. And the Script Manager is declared on MasterPage. In Defaulst.aspx i have:

<%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/MasterPage.master" AutoEventWireup="true"
CodeFile="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="_Default" %>
<%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="ajax" %>
<asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContentPlaceHolder" runat="Server">
<script type="text/javascript" src="scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js">
$(function () {
$("input[id$='btnShowDate']").click(function () {
$("span[id$='lblStatus']").fadeOut("slow");
});
});
</script>
<asp:UpdatePanel runat="server" ID="uP">
<Triggers>
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="btnShowDate" />
</Triggers>
<ContentTemplate>
<asp:Label runat="server" ID="lblStatus" />
<div>
<asp:Button runat="server" ID="btnShowDate" Text="Show Today`s Date" OnClick="btnShowDate_Click" /></div>
</ContentTemplate>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
</asp:Content>

And on the CodeBehind i have:

protected void btnShowDate_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(3000);
lblStatus.Text = DateTime.Now.Date;
}

The problem is that the label is not fading Out after the button clicked. Does someone has any idea on how to handle this problem?

JQuery :: Using Tooltips For List Box Inside Update Panel?

Mar 18, 2011

I am just getting my feet wet using Jquery and I am running into an issue.

I have a asp.net listbox that I am populating by looping thru a dataset. I am adding a title attribute on each item as I loop thru.

What I would like to do is use Jquery to over-ride the standard tooltip so it can hold more text and not time out after 5 seconds on mouseover.

The list box is located inside an update panel.

Jquery code.

Does The Jquery Validation Plugin Require A Form Tag

Jan 21, 2010

I want to validate some asp.net textboxes with the jQuery Validation plugin found at[URL], but it appears that the elements must be between a form tag. If I have just a couple elements, I would hardly call that a form, so I would rather not have them wrapped inside a form element. Is there a way around this? Also, if I have two buttons on the form, a cancel and a submit button and I want the form only to validate when the submit button is clicked, but not the cancel button, how is this accomplished?

AJAX :: Validation Of Controls Only Inside Relevant Update Panel?

Jan 9, 2010

I have a page with three update areas, Create, Edit, and Delete. The controls that do these three functions are inside separate update panels so when I'm doing Create, I only fill controls inside that updatepanel. Problem is I'm using asp validation controls on all the controls in the three areas. Therefore, when I press the "Go" button in the Create UpdatePanel, the validation fails on the empty controls in the other two area. I hope I'm explaining this well. The behavior I would like to see is that only the controls contained in the updating panel would be validate.

Forms Data Controls :: Datalists Inside Ajax Update Panel?

May 31, 2010

I am trying something different for me and trying to use controls without a lot of mods but that is going out the window already.Anyway I have an update panel with a dropdown which selects query data for datalist1. (works perfect)

Inside datalist1 I want to link a field to the query in datalist2 which I have but not correct to what I want. (kinda works)

Once selected it should display the datalist2 items which have a link to a file displayed in a new window. (datalist2 works)

The way I have it now the link in datalist1 uses a query string and refreshes the page not just use the update panel and I then lose the display in datalist 1.

Here is the code:

Javascript Inside A Datagrid Inside An Update Panel?

May 30, 2010

I have a literal inside each datagrid item. When the datagrid binds I set the literal equal to a small javascript script (a third party source). It works great. when I update my update panel the javascript is lost. I know this is a known issue. From googling they recommend you use:

ScriptMananger.RegisterStartupScript

However this renders the javascript at the bottom of the page. I need it inside my datagrid items. Is there a way that I can register my javascript to my literal control?

Custom Server Controls :: Property Collections Not Persisted When Control Inside Update Panel And Content Placeholder

Apr 13, 2010

I'm creating an ASP.NET Control which has a property collection for Columns which the user can edit in the Property Collection Editor..

In most circumstances this works fine, the collection can be edited in the designer and the appropriate tags are added inside the control in the ASPX file.

It works fine when

My control is added inside an Update Panel

I have to save the aspx page before switching back to Source view for the changes to be kept.

how to get around this problem? Is there something I may have missed?

VS 2008 Panel Scroll Attribute - Does Not Give The Right "touch And Feel"?

Oct 6, 2010

I applied Panel horizontal scroll to my application. I did so in the code behind since I did not want to show the "scroll slider" till I had filled the GridView. It was working fine.

Code behind:
Code:
mySqlDataAdapter.Fill(mySqlDataTable7)
Session("mySqlDataTable7") = mySqlDataTable7

GridView7.DataSource = mySqlDataTable7
GridView7.DataBind()
[Code]....

Now I have added UpdatePanel and UpdateProgress to my Gridview and the Panel horizontal scroll does not show and the GridView columns run outside the Panel.Modified mark up code:

Code:
<asp:Panel ID="Panel12" runat="server" CssClass="panellayout" Style="top: 60px; height: 201px;
width: 518px; left: 2px; border: none">
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel99"

I could put the Panel scroll attribute in the mark up code and it works this way, but it does not give the right "touch and feel" when the GridView is empty the first time (I prefer not see the scroll attribute till I have filled the GridView the 1st time).
