I have Gridview in Master Page, and when I try to call Gridview1 in code behind the Intellisene does not suggest it. And when I try to complete the whole ID of Gridview the red line showsSo how can I call the gridview in MasterPage Code Behind.

I have a ShoppingCart UserControl on MasterPage. I have a following functionality: User adds item to the cart. after clicking the button "Complete Sale" in UserControl the page is redirected to "CustomerInfo.aspx" and after filling the Customer information and clicking on submit which is on CustomerInfo.aspx page i want to call the "Complete Sale" click event of UserControl from "Customerinfo.aspx" page.

Got a little dilemma I could use some guidance on. I'm trying to call an Interface method that resides in my Business Layer from within the template of a gridview in the same manner as below:

i.e. it reads as follows:

I'm actually getting the following error:
"An object reference is required for the non-static field, method, or property"
Which makes sense as I haven't instantiated as instance of the Interface. So the queston is how do I do it?

View 1 RepliesI've been working with ListView for a long time, but I haven't been using it's built-in events so far. Now I was trying and was stuck. Until I moved both LinqDataSource and ListView to another page, without a master page.
Then it worked. Same happened with GridView as well.
I do not use Update Panel. Just master page. And if I use manual methods for edit, insert, delete then it doesn't fire OnItemCommand.
Is there a known uncompatibility with databound controls and master pages? Because I couldn't find anything about it on Google.

Is it possible to write btn_Click once in Site.master's CodeFile and have it called in the OnClick attribute of each content page's button? I'm trying to avoid adding the same function (or anything at all) to each content page's CodeFile.

I am using the application.master of sharepoint server 2007 as the master page for my application. i want to call a custom javascript method( OnLoadFun) that i have put in the PlaceHolderAdditionalPageHead asp:content section surrounded within script tags.
Since i can not put a body tag to call the method as onload=OnLoadFun() inside the asp:content, how do i call the mehtod during body load?

View 12 RepliesI have an "Edit" page that uses a FormView bound to an EntityDataSource. The page is called with the ID field of the record to edit in the query string: "EditEmployee.aspx?ID=10". The EDS the FormView is bound to is using: AutoGenerateWhereClause=true and a QueryStringParameter. Below the FormView I have a ListView that contains some child records of the FormView. The ListView is bound to a seperate EDS and also uses the (same) QueryStringParameter.
The problem I am having is when this ListView attempts to Insert or Edt a column I receive an error because I don't have the ID field (EmployeeID) of the parent bound anywhere in the ListView (and obviously, it is setup as a ForeignKey so it fails, like it should). Any advice on the best way to get this ID (EmployeeID) column bound in the ListView? There are many things I can do in code behind, but I would like to solve this in the markup if possible. I can move the ListView so that it is inside of the FormView if necessary.

I have a master page with a textbox that I want to use for a search, and display the results on the content page.
I've dragged in the datasource to the content page, and configured the formview to use that datasource... almost.
The issue I'm having is that on the last step of the configure datasource wizard where you select the parameters, I want to select the master page textbox control for the search parameter... but of course it's not available in the list. The list only allows me to choose controls from the content page.
How do I set this master page search box as the parameter for my datasource?
