I have a textbox and a search button and I have a company name "aaa" in grid view
If I typed in textbox "aaa" and click on search button it works
but:
If I typed in textbox "Aaa" and click on search button it doesn't work
I want if i typed "aaa" or "Aaa" in both cases works as it is same word
I have a DropDownList control that I am filling the selections in code and set the value to the value on the FormView Datasource row. However, if the case is different it does not set the selectedvalue to the current row value. It seems to be the case of the text because the table used to fill the dropdownlist has Jeep for a value and the data row has JEEP for a value. How can I make the DropDownList case insensitive?

View 1 RepliesI am not very good at regular expressions.I found this code that I placed into the Regular Expression for my State code. I only allows the letters to be UPPERCASE. I need to validate for Lower case. I found a website that said to add (?i) in from, but when I do that, it accepts ALL values, even the value of "xx".

View 1 RepliesI trying to create a search mechanism for records in a EDM based on text entered on a text box in a web page.
For example, if I enter a partial name of a customer and/or state abrebiation for that customer on the Text Box (abc, TX)s, I want to search name and state fields in a Customer table in my database for matching customers.
I found a solution with the namespaceSystem.Linq.Dynamic, but for some reason it is not working. It does not expose the Search() method. Here is the code I am using to perform the search;

I made a usercontrol consisting of an AJAX tab control, a textbox, and a gridview. The gridview is pulling data from a SQL database. When the gridview is outside of the tab control and I begin to enter text into the textbox, quicksearch begins to filter the information in the gridview. When i put the gridview and textbox inside an AJAX tab control quicksearch does not work. How do i need to structure the textbox and the gridview on an ajax update panel to get it to work?

I have a gridview with checkboxlist for each record. I was updating each record individually based on that check, but now they want it to be a bulk update instead of individual. So i have commented out my individual update and added a button below the gridview and created my button event, how to loop thru the gridview and find the checked records and call my update procedure.

I have a listbox on my site that is populated with data. I then have a textbox that is used to enter a search phrase and with each letter that is added the listbox is narrowed down or repopulated using javascript. I use one listbox to store all the items and a secondary showing the listing results. This makes it east to check against all items and then populate the second listbox with all the results according to the search.
Currently this process can cause a delay in updating the listbox (eg when the textbox is emptied all the items need to be repopulated from the listbox with all the data).
What is a quick and efficient way to perform this listbox search?
I am using .net membership. How can i perform search on the bases of member properties?

The problem I had to modify the virtual directory in IIS, delete virtual path "/MyVirtualPath" and I created the new "/myvirtualpath", but in all cases I use tilde "~" or where I make a "RedirecToAction" (which should take "LowercaseRoute"), continues to maintain the virtual path "/MyVirtualPath". I would like to run a search and show the result on the grid view from my database.The search have many criteria , means user can search by first name and last name and amount .... i know it seems like i have asked this question before in my previous post but does any one know how to find a control in a gridview but it must be done in the SelectedIndexChanged event ....the previous method i was given only seems to work in the onRowBound method...If possible is their a way you can determine which button was click since i have more then one button in my gridview
