View 11 RepliesI'm trying to create a simple contact form for a website and cannot figure out how to properly configure it. I have a simple code I got off a tutorial (VB), that I pasted inside my Contact.aspx code-behind-page:

It brings up errors everywhere (declarations expected, etc) in the code-behind-page. I'm new to VB so I don't know what I'm missing. The above code is exactly the content in my code-behind. Does anyone know what I'm missing?
I can't to understand clearly how to create strong and quickly application using EF. For example, I have class ForumPost (table ForumPost) for select one of record I write method like:

I transfered my data from MDF files to MS SQL Database, but I can't get it working with entity framework.
My Old connection string is:

But my application throws System.ArgumentExceptio with message: The 'server' keyword is not supported.

I have no trouble connecting to a SQL server with code in my web config file for user registeration. But I am having trouble telling it to go to a particular table.

View 1 RepliesI don't know if this is the right place for this or not, but I figured I would post and hopefully be directed to the right place (if I'm in fact in the wrong place)I'm working on my data for my ASP.NET application and the goal is to generate tickets from several databases (but for now I'll start with just one) where each ticket created represents some unique data from the database.
(I have writen an SQL Stored Proc before that would only go out and grab the new records and insert them into the table I wanted) However, while simular, the difference is that I need to insert some extra data into each record that isn't in the source database.

I want to insert my own which I tried to put into the select statment etc, but that didn't work.Here is how I think it would work in my mind, (but didn't) [Code]....Then the next part would be to go to the other databases (Facility2... Facility3) and pull the same (if this won't work, I'll just create mulitiple of the same stored procedure and run them indivdually)
