it displays on the page as 4.9 in a label control, it is previously calculated in the Calculate_Ratings(), and it is declared as a decimal, I have also tried it declared as double. My column is declared decimal(1,1) in sqlDatabase

View 1 RepliesI currently have a numeric field as numeric(5,2) which has 2 digits after the decimal. Now I need to be able to display 4 digits after the decimal. But if I change the field to (7,4) then it places 2 zeros after the last numbers. For example: 1.32 changes to 1.3200.
But some records will have exactly 4 numbers after the decimal such as : 2.4375.
My issue is I don't want all the data to have 4 numbers after the decimal. I don't think there is another data type that will allow this.

View 1 RepliesI have a insert into statement thats inserting my numbers from a numeric text box on my aspx page. I am choosing the Amount Type then putting in a a number.
So i have a drop down that i select example Direct Charge then i enter 600.00 and click add it puts that in to the databse for me woot..
I then put in say Misc Credit and enter 200.00 it inserts in that into the database woot.
The look up table that has my amount types has a field called numeric opperator which is either + or - the Credit being a - and the Charge being a + then my stored procedure takes all my + numbers and adds them up and subtracts all the - numbers.
I want to change that so that it actuall be inserted into the table as a - number form the start. So I want choose Misc Credit enter 200.00 and click add then my event says o yea thats a credit insert 200.00 as -200.00
How can I do that?

So everytime the selected displayed entry is changed it would change the Title of the page to reflect the value of that field.

In my SP, I create some temporary tables to store certain data from multiple tables and contains some queries for an advanced calculationBut precisely yesterday, the value that the SP returns was incorrect. I tried to look at the SP and the data again and everything was OK, but not the result from the SP.And what the heck!!..today the value is totally right ...I truly have no idea what's wrong with the SP..Is there anyone knows what the root of cause is?

However I have one problem the code raises an exception "Could not find stored procedure 'pS_TableData 'Letters''."the code looks like this:

Note I am using (for now) the same connection that I used to create my database so in essence my web site is the administrator. I tried a simple SELECT from a table with the same connection and it raised no exceptions!When I run EXECUTE ps_TableData 'Letters' in SSMS it has no . I also tried EXECUTE ps_TableData 'Letters' as the command paramated for SqlCommand but it had the same effect

It seems to insert and not insert correctly, I just cannot get it to return the correct value.
I am developing a page in ASP.Net where I have the user enter a letter into a textbox. They then click a submit button and I all of the userids that start with that letter are to be displayed. So I need the SP to go through the database and match first letters with what was entered. Here is what I have as my code for the SP:

So I'm working with SQL Server 2005 and I'm having trouble saving a stored procedure. (I've only used an Apache server before, and for nothing as complex as the project I'm working on)
Nonetheless, the problem is that I don't know where to actually save the stored procedure I create. In my Object Explorer, I go to the database I want to create it in, expand Programmability, right click on Stored Procedures and choose to create a new one. That's all nice, but when I'm ready to save and test it from my webpage, it asks where to save it. This is probably dumb of me, but I don't know where to. I try to save it on the desktop and click/drag to the Stored Procedures folder in my database, but all that does is open it, not actually store it in the database. Maybe I'm getting the point of stored procedures wrong? Let me know what I should do to save it in the right place so I can access it.
