View 2 Repliesi want to send mails internally and externally for eg. i want to send mail to my boss in the company and also to the customer which doesnt belong to our domain.

and also i want to attach an excel file which is stored in my computer. so how am i going to access that file through the same procedure and then attach the file and send it to both internal as well as external email ids.
This is surareddy. i nead some small clarification in the "Stored Procedure"
how to convert the oracle Stored Procedure to sqlserver2005/2008 Stored Procedure.
right now i am enhancing the project that project already developed the oracle Stored Procedure. now our company is using sqlserver 2005/2008.
how to convert the Oracle Stored Procedure to sqlserver 2005 Stored Procedure
Initially, I have tried to use stored procedure. But I changed my mind and preferred to call sql query in codebase with command text. However, it stills tries to find initially-called stored procedure (which is neither called or exists).I think that it is related caching. But I tried it with different browsers it did not work.What might be the reason?

I have an ASP.NET application that uses an Oracle backend. I want to be able to step into the Oracle packages and stored procedures during debugging.
Is this possible and if so what toolset would be needed?
in my asp.net application, i am calling a stored procedure (oracle) to get some values from database.
Following is the sp:

how to call this sp from my asp.net code.
What is the basic rule for calling Oracle StoredProcedure from .NET
View 7 RepliesI am goig to execute an oracle store procedure using C# through through ODP.NET. The store procedure executes succsfully but it does not return any value in the out parameter.
When I execute the same store procedure with the same input parameteres from within SQL*Plus. It does return values.
This is to be clearify here that in the oracle store procedure the data type for the out parameter is number and in the c# the variavle that will hold its value is Integer. I also tried using Long on the C# side but it is still not working. After the successfull execution of the store procedure the C# variable contains nulll value.
i am getting this error while fetching select statement in oracle pl/sql proc... View 1 RepliesI am trying to create the following stored procedure in sql server Lat and Lng are the parameters being passed from c# code behind .But I am not able to create this stored procedureit indicates with error saying undefined column name Lat,Lng

END
sqlda.SelectCommand.CommandText = "select *, spherical_distance( Lat, 57.2958, Lng) as distance

I want to apply other stored procedure select query on result of first stored procedure.
View 1 RepliesI would like to use a technique for exception handling on our database stored procs whereby, each proc exposes a p_error_code output parameter of type int. 0 indicates no error, and other values indicate application specific exceptions. Now, where a stored proc will return a ref cursor if no exceeptions occur, we would like to check the p_error_code and if not 0, then use the ref cursor. If an exception does occur, then the stored proc may or may not have populated the ref cursor, but the dotnet code will almost definately not read the contents.
OracleCommand command = CommandFactory.CreateCommand(transaction, "RTS.p_get_audit_trail");
We have an ASP.NET web service that invokes a stored procedure on our DB (Oracle 11g). The problem is that the call to the procedure blows up every time an empty string is passed as one of the parameters. We're seeing an ORA-01084 error, which indicates to me that call is failing before the procedure is actually run.
Here's the procedure, minus some logic that I believe is not relevant:
[Code]....
As an experiment, I modified the web service to pass null rather than an empty strings. When null is passed in, I see an error indicating "wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'CREATEREPORT."
I also tried passing DBNull.Value whenever the params were null/empty, but that resulted in the error
Parameter 'p_column_id': No size set for variable length data type: String.
(Of course, p_column_id was the empty parameter in this case).
So, how can I successfully pass empty strings as parameters to my stored procedure? We definitely want to allow the p_column_id parameter to be empty.
I've downloaded OracleHelper.cs & i'm using it for SELECT Statements so far &
Now i'm suppose to INSERT & UPDATE with it....
Will someone give an example for how to insert & update using oracle helper for TEXT & STORED PROCEDURE !
List<OracleParameter> OrclParam = new List<OracleParameter>();
OrclParam.Add(new OracleParameter("@eid",OracleDbType.Int32).Value) = a_type;
OrclParam.Add(new OracleParameter("@ename",OracleDbType.Varchar2).Value) = a_name;
OracleHelper.ExecuteDataset(connectionString, CommandType.Text,
"Insert into Employees (EID,ENAME) values(@eid,@ename)");
The above codes does'nt work
we recently upgraded an application (.NET 2.0) that we maintain to use Oracle 11g. The application uses MS Enterprise Library 2.0. We've found that when the database.ExecuteNonQuery(Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleCommand) method is called, it bombs when the stored procedure expects a parameter as a number, but receives a string. This didn't happen prior to upgrading. If I cast the parameter to an Int, I don't recieve the error. Was something possible missed during the upgrade? The issue occurs regardless if we are hitting an 11g database, or a 10g database.
EDIT: I neglected to mention that this same issue does not occur when ExecuteDataReader is called (handles implicit conversion of the datatype).
i have a stored procedure and i want to return a value from that procedure and returned value i want to store in a variable Stored Procedure is create procedure simpleproc(OUT pcount int)begin set @pcount=(select count(*) from testtable); end
Now i call this proc from C# code
string query="CALL simpleproc(@count)";
MySqlCommand commond = new MySqlCommand();
MySqlParameter returnValue = new MySqlParameter("@count", DbType.Int32);
returnValue.Direction = ParameterDirection.ReturnValue;
commond.Parameters.Add(returnValue);
commond.CommandText = query;
commond.Connection = con; // I already set the connection in con and opened it
commond.ExecuteNonQuery();
int count = Int32.Parse(command.Parameters["@count"].Value.ToString());
What should i have to change to get return value in count
var a=conn.getData2();//getting the value from a global class conn.cs
OracleConnection con = conn.s();
OracleCommand oc = new OracleCommand("logedin(I need to pass the value here)", con);
logedin is strored procedure :-
create procedure logedin(user_id in int)
as
begin
update user_details set status='logedin'
where userid=user_id;
end;
i would lke to pass the value into the stored proc that was retrieved by the variable into the database.
I'm not so familiar with stored procedures but I'm interesting in moving most of my web selects to stored procedures. I'm working with .net based website and all my data access is something like this:
[Code]....
But now I want to improve some process and make tunings. For that I want to use stored procedures, so instead of the "SELECT ...." sentence I'll put stored procedure name. My problem is how to return a table from one.
I am using PL/SQL Developer.I have a below query select distinct
DATA_SRC_CD as Source,
FILE_NM as File_Name,
PATH as File_Path
from PKG_SFI_REPORTS.DATALOAD2SUMMARYETLRPRT("FACTS","CM_DDL_PARTY_2011_01_12_08_24_09.DAT")
In the above Query PKG_SFI_REPORTS => Package, DATALOAD2SUMMARYETLRPRT=> Procedure.
"FACTS" and "CM_DDL_PARTY_2011_01_12_08_24_09.DAT" => Parameters
Now I need to know the Data Types of "DATA_SRC_CD" and "FILE_NM" and "PATH". How can I Know?
I'm using the MySQL as back end , huge stored procedures are there. Is there any way to debug them using Visual studio 2008 or any other products.
View 4 RepliesI'm trying to decide which is the best way to call a stored procedure.I'm new to ASP.NET MVC and I've been reading a lot about Linq to SQL and Entity Framework, as well as the Repository Pattern. To be honest, I'm having a hard time understanding the real differences between L2S and EF... but I want to make sure that what I'm building within my application is right.
For right now, I need to properly call stored procedures to: a) save some user information and get a response and, b) grab some inforation for a catalog of products.So far, I've created a Linq to SQL .dbml file, selected the sotred procedure from the Server Explorer and dragged that instance into the .dbml. I'm currently calling the Stored Procedure like so:
MyLinqModel _db = new MyLinqModel();
_db.MyStoredProcedure(args);
I know there's got to be more involved... plus I'm doing this within my controller, which I understand to be not a good practice.
I have a req in which I have to call an AS400 stored procedure.The stored has an input and output parameter.
View 9 RepliesI have a working controller for another stored procedure in the database, but I am trying to test another.
When I request the URL; http://host.com/Map?minLat=0&maxLat=50&minLng=0&maxLng=50
I get the following error message, which is understandable but I can't seem to find out why it occurs;
Procedure or function 'esp_GetPlacesWithinGeoSpan' expects parameter '@MinLat', which was not supplied.
This is the code I am using.
using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;
using System.Web; [code].....
