Datagrid Scrolling With Fixed Headers
May 7, 2010How can you have a fixed header on a DataGrid or GridViw and allow the grid to scroll? I'd like to avoid a solution that uses another separate table for headers.

Sep 14, 2010I am trying to make the header of a matrix scrollable. I have tried the coloumn and row group editing to check the scrollable option.
Only the rows that are grouped are scrolling on checking the scrollable option but not the coloumns.
I have a coloumn group as static coloum. When I edit it to check the srollable option, it gives an error "The properties of the currently selected item is not valid. correct all erorrs before continuing". And for the Static group in coloumns I get only the add option and not the edit option. What should be done in this case?

Mar 18, 2011Given all the research I've done, I don't think this is possible - am I correct? I've been all over the web looking for ways to do this. My grid needs to scroll vertically, horizontally, sort, and go into edit mode. I've been able to do the "cheap" solution where a table sits above the grid to hold the column names, but this does not work well with putting the grid into edit mode or scrolling horizontally. In both cases, the columns become out of synch with their headers. My organization will not pay for a grid, so JQGrid is out. So, since the 'expression' capability has been removed from IE8, we are left with no possibilities for fixed column headers?
I'm not advanced enough in JQuery to do this...but wouldn't it be possible to create a JQuery function that copies the grid header row to a div that sits above the grid, so that the headers are always visible? (And hide the original grid header row). Anyone want to take a crack at it? Maybe I'll try but it will probably take me too long.

Aug 4, 2010I have two grids on a page that seem to always be position:fixed.I want them to scroll with the page when an overflow scrollbar appears on the body. The grids however ALWAYS stay in the same place and don't scroll with the rest of the page content.Is there any way to get an UltraWebGrid to be relative and scroll up the page with the rest of the page's content?This seems to work in IE6 but not in IE8.

The results can be many records so I need to provide the facility to scroll vertically and horizontally. To display the headers when scrolling I have implemented ( in my asp code) the headers in another table and the data is in another table. I see now I cannot align the column headers with the table data.Appreciate any help to fix this issue. ( What I need is a similar to the freeze function in excel where you can freeze the header while scrolling horizontally and vertically)If this method is not a good one to display headers with data please suggest another methodHere is my ASP code.

I would like the selectedvalue of the dropdown to display additional data base on its selection in multiple text boxes.
I have tried using the DropDownList OnSelectedIndexChanged property, within a DataGrid EditiItemTemplate, but I cannot retrieve data from the selection. (AutoPostBack is "True"). I can however use a button onclick event to fire a "prre-defined" selection value.
