I ve a script for downloading a file. but that file is getting downloaded into docs/download folder by default. How can i change this so that the user can download it to a specific location or directory.. current script is as follows :
I have a code that read all data from sqldatasource and store it in exel file. my problem is,when the program run when i click on button, the message pop up to open or save, so by click on open or save we can either save it in exel file or open and look in exel file.

I have made an application where I am displaying the .pdf , .doc , .docx files. These files are uploading from an Admin Panel. When user place a mouse pointer on download icon provided in front of every file, it shows the complete path where it’s get saved.I want to avoid this path visibility even when user place mouse on download icon and even if it Inspect an element (as most modern browser will have this functionality).
i want to download file from other website to on my location and i used code below
Dim wc As New System.Net.WebClient wc.DownloadFile(pathUrl, fileName)
PathUrl,fileName both are correct m 100% sure.
after execution of these 2 line my browser progress-bar goes in to wait state like something is retrieving.but file not download any where.what should i do next?
I have a hyperlink to an executable like so: <a href="xxx.exe"> Run Now </a> I'm trying to make the download dialog box appear without the save function as it is to only run only on the user's computer.
Is there any way to manipulate the file download dialog box? FYI: Running on Windows Server '03' - IIS.
Does anyone know how this is possible? I can retrieve the file, but I cannot figure out or find anywhere online how to prompt the user where he/she wants to download the file to.
I got a pdf creator on my webapp where my user can create a pdf with different stats. How should I do so they get the option to prewiev or save the file right after the creation of it? the file is saved.
I am trying to save the xml file after modification in a diffrent location. the code is as belowServices.Save(Server.MapPath("~/ResourceFiles/data.xml"))I have given full control permission to the folder. Now sometimes the file saves properly and some times it does not save. OS is Windows 2003 server 64 bit.
I have a requirement to disable save as and print options of file menu of the browser in which my portal opens. For this i have used javascript code which clears the clipboard text.Because of this when my pplication is opened then copy paste wont work on the system.Iam calling this method on load of a startup page and afer clearing the clipboard text iam opening my home page through javascript with no menu bar just like a modal popup iam trying ot open. This is working fine for some browsers but IE7 and firefox users are unable to load the applicatio because of this javascript function. Can anyone suggest me how to overcome this or how to disable save as and print option. My final aim is user shouldnt be able to save or print my application data...
I'm generating a PowerPoint file using this as reference. A user can search other users based on many criterias. Information based on the user is saved in the PowerPoint file. But I can't save all PowerPoint files on the server. So, the user needs to right click a link, choose "Save As...", and save the file locally.
Nothing should be saved on the server. I have been Googling, but I'm not sure what to look for.I seems I am a bad googler. I removed "powerpoint" from my search string, and there are a lot of hits.
I have a mail list where i can select many mails and download (with/without opening the mail). During the download process i update the mail status(download/open) and show the content in pdf. In normal browser dialog opens where user can save open or cancel options exits. But if the user cancel then the update process done on the mail should not happen. so i think about doing the update process if the user clicks open or save but how can i identity that client control (i think it depend on the browser)
The issue is present if i download and unopened mail and click cancel button in the dialog box the pdf creation code i have done is in this link
[URL]
which i used to open that dialog in browser to save pdf
How to save a text into a specific folder of computer(in document) by default, when the user clicks yes(for,Do you want to save the file?) to save a file into his computer? If the folder doesnot exist create and save the textfile?
I have a webpage that allows a user to download a specified file. When the file is ready to be fully downloaded (i.e I call the HttpResponse.End or HTTPRepone.Flush) the user is presented with a File Download dialogue.
Is there any way to determine what option the user has selected?
Have they Opened, Saved or Cancelled the File Download once the Flush or End has been sent?
I need a program that would download all csv files from an sftp location. I've the sftp host IP, user name, password and port details of the sftp location. I am able to login through Filezilla. But as I need to login programmatically, so that I can get a list of all files in the folder.
When the code works fine for a ftp request, it doesn't for an sftp request. Given below is my code to connect to the ftp uri.
[Code]....
My system admin says that there is no uri that could be given for sftp sites at all. Now, how can I go about this? Is there any third party tool available for this?
I have a very simplistic user control that looks like this:
<%@ Control Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="wfWindow.ascx.cs" Inherits="webfanatix.co.za.wfWindow" %> <div>Just a test...[x]</div>
with this code behind:
[ParseChildren(false)] [PersistChildren(true)] public partial class wfWindow : System.Web.UI.UserControl { protected override void Render(HtmlTextWriter writer) { RenderChildren(writer); } }
And the usage thereof looks like this:
<wf:wfWindow runat="server">This content should go where [x] is.</wf:wfWindow>
I'm no ASP.NET pro, so how do I get the content to render exactly where the [x] appears in my user control?
RenderChildren is rendering my content, but it is only appended to the end of the UserControl output. I need it to go and sit right where [x] marks the spot.
i'm working with the visual studio 2008 , aps.net website and i'm using masterPage , now as i creat a aspx page that bind to the masterPage and drug a contentPlaceHolder to the screen in a specific location now as i drug somthing to the content, tne content gets the shape of the button or whatever and thats it, i can drug more in there but it wont change the shape of the content i also tried to write it in the source by myself between the content tags and its the same problem,
I have a folder on my web server that has hundreds of mp3 files in it. I would like to provide the option for a user to download a zipped archive of every mp3 in the directory from a web page.
I want to compress the files programmatically only when needed. Because the zip file will be quite large, I am thinking that I will need to send the zip file to the response stream as it is being zipped, for performance reasons.
