Forms Data Controls :: Converting A String To Boolean For Gridview Checkboxfield?

my stored procedure is returning either 1 or 0 depending on the value of another field, however, my checkboxfield in the gridview I've created to display the data returned from the stored proc, is crashing saying that the value set to the checkboxfield is a string, not boolean. How can I take the field returned as 1 or 0 and convert it to boolean so my checkbox can bind to this value for checking/unchecking?

And am trying to add a checkboxfield (not checkbox) to the nested gridview. I was wondering if anyone could help me with the coding. Here is what i have

[Code]....

Now, obviously using CheckBoxField there is no attribute for 'id' (as there is with <asp: CheckBox ..>)so i will need some sort of work around instead of using the 'chkBillClient' in the above coding.

Forms Data Controls :: How To Access Gridview Checkboxfield
I have created a gridview at runtime. See code snippet. My problem is when I hit edit on the gridview, and check the ManuallyResolved checkbox in the 2nd column, and hit update, it won't update. I'm not sure how to get the update to work with the dynamic checkboxfield. I just don't know what the code is and in what procedure to put it in.

Forms Data Controls :: Customizing GridView To Display And Edit Boolean Data?
I'm quite new to ASP.NET programming, so excuse me if my question is dumb.I have the need of showing a grid (A GridView ?) of boolean values. But instead of showing checkboxes, I want to show the cells filled with black (value is true) or white (value is false). I understand I can do that by crafting a TemplateField and changing the style of the cell to select the correct background color and never displaying an actualvalue. I have not tried but I think it could work. The grid will contains 99% of boolean values and will contain something like20 rows of 100 columns (2000 cells).

Now I would like to have that grid edited in place at client side, that is with JavaScript, changing the style of the cell when the user clicks on the cell. There would be a submit button somewhere to postback the whole thing. Is that possible ? Any hint for programming it ?Since I have a lot of webforms which needs to display that kind of grid, I would like to go further and design a custom GridView (or other control) that I could install in the toolbox and reuse easily.

Forms Data Controls :: AutoPostback Checkbox For Quickly Updating A Boolean Column In GridView
In trying to improve 'user experience' with a GridView, I have an administrative application where a GridView is displaying records from aSQL table. One of the columns is a bit column, and is displayed as a checkbox in the GridView. I want the user to be able to simply check or uncheck the box while viewing the GridView, and the valuein that column for that record is immediately updated. So I setAutoPostBack="true" on the CheckBox in the GridView's Template Field.

But tests are indicating that the column value is not actually getting changed, even though the page appears to post back and displays the newly checked (or unchecked) checkbox correctly. But if I check the SQL table directly the column's value has not changed.

By default I noticed it already will not show the hyperlink if clientComment is Null, however the bug I'm running into is if the client enters a comment but then later deletes it so it's not null but blank, or "", in which case the HyperLinkField will incorrectly display. Here's my attempt so far but I'm obviously hitting a wall:

I would like any row in my gridview where the boolean field "Approved" is True to be shaded gray.
