Forms Data Controls :: Displaying Data In .rdlc File With Table Along Grid (no Reporting Services)?

I want to display values aligned with a header grid. An employee might start from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. for their first break. I am trying to display the values 7:00 and 9:00 aligned with the header.
I create a rdlc file with table, That table shows dataset value in dynamicaly. It is working fine. But i can't able to set table border value. And also i want to show alternative rows in difference background color... (I just simply say how to design a table in rdlc file(dynamic or static)?)
I am using a reportviewer control to display some key reports on my page. These reports are RDLC reports and some of them have multiple tables in them each being fed by a separate datasource.
There are times when some datasets do not return any values. When this happens these table show up as blank with just the headers in them.
Is there a way to hide a table, when there is no data returned by a Dataset (or the filter) on the table?
At the least, can a message "No Rows Returned be Displayed" when there is no data?
I am not sure what you call it in other technologies, on the IBM i (or iSeries) we call it overlays. The overlay is an image of a form that is stored on the server then a program generates the form with fields from the database so you can eliminate preprinted forms.
I had a problem last year with the method I was trying at the time. It was a rush job at the time to be revisited at a later point. The work-around at the time was to export to PDF. So now it is "later" and once again is a rush (imagine that). This is all done through a web-based interface.
So how do you generate forms from something that was once a preprinted form? What method do you recommend? This is a legal form and must be filled out a certain way and can have many in a batch (up to 50 or so). I would prefer to not have them print one page at a time.

I have a problem displaying data in a Grid View control when set a row to visible = false when a certain condition is true.
For example, if a DataRowData value has a condition set to true (custom in table) I set the visible property to false, so the data row will not be visible at run time.
The problem is that I'm using paging (10 rows per page) and if 8 of those rows fall into the true condition that won't show the row, that grid view page will only show two rows of data in page 1. The worst scenario is that if I go to page 2 of the grid view and all the rows (10) fall into the true condition, that grid view page will not show any data at all.
How can I show 10 rows of data at all times in a gridview? In other words, I would like to just show the visible rows at all times.
I have a report which has 2 subreport, due to some problem i was asked to show the details of the subreport in one report, so i am trying with list and grouping, but when i am tring to get details in a dataset with multiple table binding with datasource is binding only first table who to read the other tables... if i am using one datasource with multiple table adapters grouping and filter in designing is not allowed, how to overcome this problem. if i don't want to use any subreport is there any way of doing it ..
Is there a way of getting the current column being used to sort a table on an rdlc report ?I'd like a way of remembering how the user sorted the table so they dont have to reset it every time they open the form.I know I could make them use an on screen control (eg dropdown list) to change the sorting and then capture the choice as the report is loaded.But I'd rather do it in the background I can.
Me with C#.Net 2.0 I am generating reports using report.rdlc in my application. In my report.rdlc I have a table to list item details (name,qty,price,amount) in the footer of the report.rdlc amount is sumed to show total amount. How can I show this table in such a way that if only 1 or 2 products are there it should fill the whole page (products at the top and rest blank) and the total amount should be shown at the bottom of the page

I have a datagrid which pulls data from a single database table to display it. However, this database table also contains information on the thumbnail URL for each record, and I would like to display the thumbnails for each record in the 1st column of the datagrid.

I have developed my application using ASP.NET with Visual Basic. I have a table that contains 3 fields. The name of the table is "Customer" and the names of the fields are "Name", "Address", and "Amount". I have a gridview that displays these three columns. I want to summarize the value in the "Amount" column for each record and display the summarize value in the footer of the "Amount" column.
I added some code to the "ItemTemplate" and "FooterTemplate" of the template for the "Amount" field and wrote two functions One function adds the value of the "Amount" field to a variable called "TotalAmount" and the second function 'gets' the value stored in the "TotalAmount" variable.
I am not getting any error messages and all of the items are displayed in the gridview but I am not displaying anything at the bottom of the "Amount" column. What more do I need to do?

I am having trouble with .rdlc field sizing. Regardless of the table/field size settings in my .rdlc report, the reportviewer always shrinks the fields and table. I have tested everything I can think of, and searched the web for a solution to this problem, but no luck yet.
I have also tried just about every size setting there is and even looked in the output html, but nothing seems to be decreasing the width. I have attached two images. in the first image, I have added a black border around my table, and a red border around one of the fields to demonstrate the auto-shrink issue. the second image shows my vs report settings.

Im coding in VB Im looking to transfer data from a gridview to a table. In the grid view i have enabled Selection, and on the code behind, as i need help getting started selecting the attributes adding it to a table. The grid is being populated from a table however i would like to take the information selected and store it in another table, which will have some more attributes. i have found a way which will add the row by an sql query from one table to another however i would like to give the user the option to select and add data to the table.
And i was thinking i could use this SQL query in the code behind but im not sure how to add it to the code behind of the select.
I can't seem to bind a grid with my custom table. When I do a straight select statement it works, but it won't work when I try to set the data source to my custom table. Here is my vb, can anyone see what I'm doing wrong? The commented code works fine to databind the table
In my report1.rdlc I have a table which use to fill with the dataset value. Some times the table in the dataset may have only 1 row some times 5,10 etc.How can I make the table in the report.rdlc such that at all times it should show minimum 5 rows ie if the dataset table contains only 1 row the report.rdlc table should contain 1 row with data and rest 4 rows blank
