Forms Data Controls :: Gridview Associated With Google Maps?
Mar 29, 2011
In my web page displaying the list of products with address (store location) and hyper link say 'map' in gridview. Beside gridview there is one google map embedded in div. when ever user clicks on 'map' hyper link in girdview the corresponding location should show in popup in google maps. In my database i have only complete address for the each products.
I am attempting to create an ASP.NET website that incorporates Google Maps to geocode the location of bus stops that the user selects from a gridview that is bound to a SQL database. Any ideas on how to use a buttonfield to pass the address (text) for a given row to a command that will geocode that address and place a marker on the map?
I had a problem with my site in the past couple days and have almost recovered, but now I'm stuck on some code that has an Auto-Complete feature, which allows a user to type a name of a pub into a TetxBox, and based on the returned names, the user can click one and see that name in the GridView (just below the TextBox). The GridView was set up so that there was an href that the user could click on and that would open a window and the user would see the pub in Google Maps. The code below works just fine for the Auto-Complete and the GridView.
[Code]....
Here is the end of the working code. Somehow I need to use the code below to make the GridView have a href to allow a user to click and see the pub in Google Maps:
[Code]....
The code above worked fine before, but I'm not sure how it was incorporated into the GridView, and since I had a problem with my site a few days ago, I haven't been able to figure out this part.I'd sincerely appreciate any help in getting this up and running again.
There is 1 ASP.NET checkBox, 1 Button, 1 Gridview in my web page with GeoMap.Requirement is:When I check the "CheckBox", and click on "Button", ALL the locations(Latitude, Longitude also saved in DB) saved in DB should show inside "GeoMap" as well as in "GridView".I had done it using "DropDown" (showing particular location NOT ALL) but finding difficulty using "CheckBox" (to show ALL location at once)...
I need to show infowindow for the markers when clicked on gridview row. I could get infowindow but its just taking rowindex and displaying as i found this solution from this website. i need to display with datakeynames of gridview.
I could able to get datakeyname value but unable to trigger map with infowindow.
$("#lstLocations td").live("mouseover", function () { google.maps.event.trigger(google_markers[$(this).parent()[0].rowIndex - 1], 'click'); }); $("#lstLocations td").live("mouseover", function () {
Am working on google maps. I am retrieving data from database and binding to gridview now when i click on select in gridview i need to show particular id marker along with infowindow using the coordinates(lat and lng)
Table contains: ID,Firstname, LastName, Lat, Lng, DOB,DOD
If all rows has lat and lng then below code is working fine. But my grid has no coordinates for some rows like for 20 rows there are only 2 rows has coordinates(lat and lng) in this case this code is not working. And i have paging if i go to next page for this its taking again previous 1st rowindex and showing infowindow on the map.
$("[Id*=GridView1] td").live("click", function () { google.maps.event.trigger(google_markers[$(this).parent()[0].rowIndex - 1], 'click'); }); $("[Id*=GridView1] td").live("click", function () { });
I have a requirement to show the GoogleMap in DataList/Repeater for each row. I have the Latitude and longitude, address for each row in table. Below code works fine. but i am not able to show the map with each row of DataList.
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="GoogleMap.aspx.cs" Inherits="GoogleMap" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
I need to use a map in an application that I develop. In my application I want to use pins that will show infoboxes on the map. Use the zoom in, zoom out functionality and the ability to show several maps on the same page. I won't need to use the search locations or routing directions.Which type of maps should I use? Google or Bing? As I understand, they both have good user interface, but which one is easier to develop with? If I'll use Bing then will it be more Microsoft like, I mean, it will let me use visual studio convenient programming? More or less javascript so it will be a hassle do debug it?
I have a database with tables containing locations(lat and long) and crimes what i what to achieve is to display real time multiple markers on google maps from the database showing different crimes on different locations with different color using signalR with MVC and C#.
I've implemented a google map with points and stuff that uses an address that the user inputs. When you click a point, the popup bubble appears with the name and address in.Often this name and address is a prominent location, as it's used for meetings and things, such as a university. If you google the address yourself on maps.google.co.uk then you get google's own popup bubble, which often has a photo, information, opening hours, links to directions, reviews, etc. etc.I am wondering if there's a way to use that popup dialog instead of my own, where it is available. I can't see anything in the API to do this.I'm using V2 as we support IE6 in a lot of our users, but I've been told recently I can upgrade to V3 should I need functionality from it.
just want to add the effect of map momentum by the dragging of map as in maps.google.com has. currently on my map where i stop dragging the map stops there but in maps.google.com if you drag a mouse the map will not stop there it will continue the movement in the same direction for a second or few cordinates (i dont know basically), but I want the same thing on my google map. I am using GMap2.
am working on google maps api to store the latittude and longitude into the MS Access Database..I want to add the markers to the particular locations and store it onto the database...
On a test page, I successfully created a google map that pulls both marker and infoWindow information from an XML file. I did this just to get a feel for working with the API. It works fine. However, I do have a SQL database that has this information in it already. This database is updated behind the scenes regulary via a webservice.
I would like to try pulling the map information from my SQL database instead so I don't have to hand maintain the .xml file. The dabase alread has the lat/long information needed for markers. What is the easiest way for me to get that data from the SQL database? Is there a way to run a query and use the data, or will I need to run the query and somehow have it write/update my .xml file for me?
like to display infowindow as it is in google maps on selection of Dropdownlist with data dynamically binded using VB.net can anybody provide me the code.
I am creating a business directory website which has street addresses stored in the database. I would like to calculate the distance from a given zipcode to the street address using google maps in ASP.Net.I don't even know where to begin.
I was looking for a solution on how to create a static google map by passing longitude and latitude value through database. What I want to do is to create a static image as PDF conversion requires static image. Thats why I want a static image so that I can convert aspx page into pdf and then email that map to the customer.
I am developing a cms that will use more than one domain and i have to use only one google map script in my page. Is there a way to use google maps without api key? Otherwise it's not working?
If you map a google maps application and want to store every location the user clicks on, how can you store that data in vb.net/asp.net in a collection, with the intention of putting it in a database later.
I'm pretty sure I know how to store it in javascript, perhaps with an array, but I'm unsure of how to transfer that into the application (Without sticking it in visible text that the user sees or adding it to a form).

I used it as my POC and created a .net project from the concept. I now have markers and infoWindows being populated from the database which is pretty cool.
My problem is I want to add InfoWindows in a slick way (not only to the map, but also save to the db). Instead of having .net controls outside of the map window I want to be able to add info to the map directly. If the user clicks in the map I would like to be able to add a marker and InfoWindow with asp controls in the window (textbox and button).
