Here is a snapshot of my gridview with selection enabled. How can I modify this, so instead of having an extra row that says select, I could have the order numbers be selected (hence the order numbers would all be underlined)

and I would like to modify my sort expression so that when the expirydate header is clicked on, it will make all those id that has expired pop to the top . In this case, we will have the following as the results

View 15 RepliesI have a gridview that has allowPaging and AllowSorting set to true. It is bound to a sqldatasource with the selectCommand firing a sql query. The sqldatasource has EnableCaching = true, and caching duration = "60". The idea is to run the paging, sorting, etc from the cache.
A separate dataUpdate event updates the data that is being loaded in the grid view, but I am not able to see the change in the gridview data till 30 seconds (caching duration) .
What is the best way to force refresh the gridview data by the dataUpdate event?
I came across this artice that tells to use CacheKeyDependency, but when I implemented it, the gridview gets refreshed at every dataUpdate event, but also the paging and sorting fires the sqldatasource Selectcommand sql query. I want this query to be fired only on dataUpdate.
currently have a page that I use to allow users to edit information for their attending group. They can edit names, sex, tshirt sizes etc. All they have to do is selsct their club from the gridview and the details are bound to the detailsview. They edit then click submit. What I now want to accomplish is a similar page that deletes members. I know gridviews come with a delete button you can enable, but I need it to fit in with my custom code-behind. I want users to select the member they want to remove from their registration, that persons details to pop up as text in the details view positioned below the gridview (as text, not as text boxes), ask them to confirm the delete by clicking the delete button in the detailsview. I'm really not proficient at VB or ASP.Net, I just got thrust into this project, so any help would be amazing. I'd like to know how the thing works though. Below is the code I use for the editing.

I have a SQL data source control defined to filter data from a SQL database, sorted according to the date time in descending order. When i try and update a field of the latest record, the entire column, related to the field of the filtered search gets modified. I want to only update a field of the last record i.e. the last entry of the filtered data. How can i achieve it?

I have a very simple sub routine which I call from RowDataBind that adds a sort arrow image to the cell if a SortExpression exists. It works great except for the problem that if the gridview renders a wide table, the header text wraps and the image appears on a different line to the text. Therefore, I need to modify my subroutine so that if the header text is only one word in length, then a white-space:nowrap rule is placed on the header cell of that column.Sound really easy, but I just cannot get it to work. For some reason the white-space:nowrap rule is being added to EVERY header cell, regardless of the text inside it.

View 3 RepliesI'm using MS Chart Controls, i want to add a feature to my charts, im primarily using Bar charts. I will have a large numnber of Data points on my chart for example 20 bars etc, i want to limit the display to 10 so if there is more than 10 it will only show the last 10 bars and display a scrolling bar to scroll back and fort to see all the charts. I have the code to do this, and it works extremely well, only problem is. the code is in VB.NET I've converted it to C# and I am not getting any errors on page_load but my code doesnt seem to affect my chart in anyway, basically it doesnt work. Just wondering could some one have a look at my code and give me any pointers where i may have gone wrong or if anyone has ever got something similair to this working in c#. Im going to post both the VB.NET and the C#,

I have a gridview that has a sqldatasource for it's data and it works well. I also have four dropdown lists that I need to have filter the data in the grid if they have a value selected. Here's my query:

What I need is if a user selects an Asset_Tag from a dropdown list the gridview should requery with the Asset_Tag as a parameter so only that record gets called up. Is there a way to do this in the selected indexchanged event? The same would hold true for the other DDLs. It seems like if I assigne the datasourse programmatically I lose the builtin sorting ability which isn't acceptible for this application.
I have a gridview which on the left hand column it will be the Select button, but I think when we did this in Gridview, it will select mulitple button (it's like a checklist). I have made some changes, but I still cannot get the button to select only 1 row instead of multiple.

I would like to select one of the rows of a gridview by default, when the gridview is first created (on databound?).
