I'm using VS2008. When a dataset is bound to the DataSource of a ListView, SelectedIndexChanged event does not fire. If I used DataSourceID instead, it has no problem. But SelectedIndexChanging event fires for both.
why and how I can get SelectedIndexChanged event fired when DataSource is used?

How can i automatically fire all events like DropDownlist SelectedIndexChanged in the page_Load iteslef so that all the things that are supposed to be done when DropDownList.SelectedValue = "Yes". I'm posting my test code for reference to explain what I'm trying to do. This is just the Idea. I have something else to deal with if i can get this stright. Unfortunately, due to my projects requirements, I have to use a third party control within my listviews ItemTemplate that needs to have database values written to its attributes before my listview control is bound, if this is not the case my control flags a null reference exception error. From some investigation into the listview control, it seems that the only way to do this is through my listviews ItemDataBound event as my thrid party control will hold different value depending on each row.was wondering if it's at all possible to force my listviews ItemDataBound event to fire before I call mylistview.databind();?

I have some code which fires when user selects an item in dropdownlist. Now i want the same code to fire when i set selectedindex programmatically.
I have tried setting
ddlSystemLevelDCP.SelectedIndex=2;
and this as well

None of them fires this event.However when user changes the selection,this event fires.Please tell me what am i missing.

The page displays the images from the list<> and button ok but nothing happens when i click it other than postback. Furthermore even when i set up a test button wich changes the ListView.selectedindex the ListView.SelectedIndexChanged event never fires even though i can read the selected index and see that it has changed.
I'm guessing that it's something to do with using a list<> from the code behind to populate the listview but i must confess to being completely clueless.

then,
if a user unchecks some item and clicks the save button. then the selectedindexchanged will fire and i will do some logic.
what i have done is.
