Forms Data Controls :: Changing Date Format In A Grid View?

Since I'm using Oracle database , I need to use this kind of date format :dd-mmm-yy
so, when a user insert date in this specific column, I ask him to insert the date in dd/mm/yyyy format and then I use a function to "translate" it to oracle date
the problem is that the next time the user will try to update the row, the validation rule asks to change the format of the date to dd/mm/yyyy
so what I wanted to do is that whenever I display the gridview I'll see the dates as dd/m/yyyy , but the data that will be sent to the database will be in the oracle format.
I am using a dataview to read a certain record from a database and then adding these values to different elements on a form (label, textbox) ..
One of the fields is a date/time and i only want to display the date without the time..

.. It's not working .. I'm not sure how i should alter the date format ..
I know that variations of this same question have been posed numerous times - but I can't quite seem to find the exact solution.
I would like any row in my gridview where the boolean field "Approved" is True to be shaded gray. Here is the code that I'm using, but every row ends up being gray, regardless of the value in that "Approved" field. My guess is that I'm not correctly evaluating the boolean value in this field (which is actually a yes/no field in MS Access), Not sure if I should be reading that value as "-1", "Yes" or "True" or "NotNull"? Anyway, here is the code:
i have a grid view with some coulmns like Name,Phone no etc with Edit,Delete column in grid view. I click a row in grid view to Edit,it goes another page where i can edit all fields .Once i update i redirect the page to gridview. I want the grid view to remain in that particular page say 4 of the grid view
It happened to add an extra Gridveiw Header in row_databound event , It did worked fine on !Postback but disappered on Page.Postback . Quick google search guided me to move the event to Row_Created event and every thing is okay .
Can any expert post some pointers , differnces between grid row_created vs row_databount with some sample table data created dynamically behaviour of both the events in !Postback and page.Postback .
I am doing a online web application whereby user is able to enter in new template as well as search for template. The Add template is located outside the grid view and if user clicks on the button, it will load the grid view that is populated with data as there is a row of empty fields at the bottom. However when I click on the Add Template button, the grid view does not appear.

I'm looking for the best way (Performance) to do gridview columns formating RunTime /Dynamic depending on the datatable Columns type ,I want to bind the datatable to a gridview and format the Date columns to short date, and currency columns formatted with comma ex 10,000.00 inplace 100000.00 at datatable the column type is double run time (without converting them to String) since I do a filtering and sorting at these columns.
i have added to my web.config page this instruction:

all the dates in my web page are formated as dd/mm/yyyy but my database is still under mm/dd/yyyy is there a way to also change the format of sqlexpress to dd/mm/yyyy ?
Have a GridView with a templated select button hidden and using

When user like to update the datasource he will select one row from gridview then in selected indexchanged event i would display the selected row values beneath the form under the grid , Then user will update the contents displayed from grid and click an update button which is outside the grid . After updating the displayed row , i got to get the values of the next row in the grid and display them for next updation , i'e if users maually selects row 3 from grid then he can update the values using the update button and then on update click itself i'll have to display next row contents of row 4 and this process could go on .

i have a situation, like this, there is a one data grid, which is empty, in that we can add the values, in that grid was paging enabled, so after the 10 record, remaining values ll be in the next page of the grid, so if i want to view that value, i should be use the paging option, here i m getting proble, becz, here i have use the code

I have written a small web app to take fill a dataset from an xml file, which is then bound to a Gridview control. The problem I am having is that I am trying to format a date field as it is currently displayed as '2010-06-03T16:37:26.043+01:00'.
