Forms Data Controls :: Display Information In Table Using Repeaters

I am having trouble getting the following code to display side by side in a table. At the moment it displays next to each other in different cells but the cell on the right stretches further down than i would like, the opening item in the cell - <%#Eval("Product_ID") %> - is level with the end of the image in the cell on the left and everything else continues on new lines below it, when what i was hoping would happen would be for the product id to be directly across from the top of the image and the rest of the items to go below that. I have tried datalists and detailsview but they do not give me what i want either

I have searched and have found master detail tutorials.found other sites with links to controls you have to buy but i thought some time back i saw a great tutorial on building this setup and it was somewhat pretty simple and detailed in steps.
Here is what im trying to do and maybe someone can point me in the right direction to links or suggestion on controls to use that may already exist that are free,We have a search page that i have setup to handle a number of different searches as well as differnet result views..we have 1 search that returns/needs to return alot of details.to much for a gridview layout.Currently i have it setup to return to
a formview and paging each record.BUT at the moment,in our test server we have over 400 records.so no one is going to page thru 400 records.so the 2 methods used are not going to work for us.so after meeting and discussing it.we want to see if the following can be accomplished in a practical way.
We want to setup the results to be returned initially in a gridview.. ( just a few key columns,kinda high level view ).then if you want to view details about any specific record,you can click on it or select it and the row is expanded to display the rest of the details.this will allow us to display all 400 records.25 or so per page of the gridview and allow them to chose what they want to see in more details.
Like i said i found a few examples online already,but not all of them are really detailed in the steps.so can anyone suggest a good source for accomplishing something like this.what would be cool.if possible is to open the formview that is already built under the selected record.kinda like CollapsiblePanelExtender that is within ajax

I have a table with articles. Every article has a column named category which value is either 1 or 2 On my landingpage the article headers are displayed as hyperlinks. All the articles with category 1 will be displayed in a repeater control on the left side of page and all the articles with category 2 will be displayed in another repeater control on right side of page. I know I can bind the repeaters to two different sqldatasource controls with different SELECT statements. But I wonder if I can do this by only using one sqldatasource control, and if this is better and proper way of doing it. If so, do I create a (datatable?) and do the sorting there?

We actually need the header to be separated from the contents using a different table row...
Edit: changed rptHeader's ItemTemplate's html element from <td> to <th> to be a little clearer.

I have a set of records that will go into a repeater, however, the query being used has a grouping on it and i need to apply this to the repeater i.e.
GROUP NAME
Record 1
Record 3
GROUP NAME
Record 2
Can this be done?

First, I'm needing to report info from a database (currently an Access database that will be migrated to a SQL database shortly). There are too many fields in the database to just let them go on and on across the page. I've got the first repeater working GREAT! but none of the other repeaters populate at all.

I have several repeaters on the same page. They are not nested. Because of design and database issues I had to keep them independent. I need to total the amount in a particular column for all repeaters. Is there a common approach to this or do I have to hack something?

For the solution, I cannot use any event handling methods, because my webapp is fully ajax based and no complete postback is possible. I have a parent repeater that lists the sections of the website. this repeater binds to display a table that contain another repeater of the website pages .. or may display a table that contains another two repeaters of the projects categories and sub-categories.Until now everything is going fine.
The problem comes when I try to include a query of the section ID to the link of the project categories (DataView of the projects repeaters does not contain SectionID)my question is : is there any way to call the SectionID of the first repeater in my projects categories and sub-categories repeaters?Here is my code:

I have a gridview which shows products from product table. I have 1000s of products in db and gridview shows 15 records per page. I want to fetch only 15 records from database at one time but page number should show as all products are in list and with page change next products should be displayed. grid has sorting enabled. on top of page there is a text box for records filtering so I need to keep sorting in mind as well.

How to display empty GridView to insert new record if no data retreived for some record on the result from data table?Actually i am trying to give a user an option to add recrod from Gridview. On result of some query it is perfectly displaying data and a footer row with the insertion textbox but when there is no data in the gridview it is not displaying. It should display with footer having insert textbox.

I have a table which contains products with many different attributes (columns). Depending on which product the user looks at I want to present it differently as one product might have only a few attributes and others have a lot. I have been thinking a long the line of having a set of templates and associate each product with a template but can't figure out how implement that in a smart way. Some options I have been thinking of 1) One datasource and several formviews - doesn't work if I'm not misstaken 2) Several form views and datasoruces - this would however need programming to enable to right set. 3) Using the wizard control to separate different form views and data sources.

I have a datatable with the following column names
ProviceID, ProvinceName, Year,
TPM, PM 10, PM 2.5, B(a)p
I'm trying to display data from this table in a gridview using template fields. Here's an example of a label in my item template

When i bind data to this grid view, i get an error saying column "PM 2" was not found. For some reason, the program is dropping the .5 from the column name. I am exploring the possibility of replacing the number with alphabets only but this may not be possible as the end user may not find it user friendly. Is there a way for me to get around this problem? I get a similar problem with B(a)p, it drops everything after the B. Any ideas on how to get the gridview to bind column names with special chars in it?

Can someone show me how to programmatically construct a table (using the server table control)?
I am retrieving a table from an sqldata connection, and I've placed it into a dataset.
I want to insert it into the table control which will for the first row create headercells, and for subsequent rows create table cells.
I just want to see a simple example of what this looks like.
I find the following type of examples very unhelpful as they get the number of rows and columns from the user, but there's no actual data! :

i want to get multiple row data from a data base table and display 1 record per specific group as shown below in a gridview. for example.
