can you please help me to brainstorm the possible causes of this error. I've got a paged repeater with localisation bound programitcally to an sqldatasource using a stored proc. I can post code if needs be but it's rather long. I'm looking for typical causes of this error + will make note for future reference!

I have created an ASP page to display records for auditor review and response. The page consists of two repeaters that display 5 rows from a database at a time. for each row displayed, a RadioButtonList, containing two buttons is attached. If the second button is selected, an input text box is displayed to allow auditor comments.
My situation is that I cannot find a way to identify which row is being selected? When I select the Button that should enable the text box, I'm receiving the following error:
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
I'm just starting out in ASP coding and would like to know what I'm not doing right?

I have two datalist that bind from database and use linkbutton on these datalist
<asp:DataList ID="DLclass" runat="server">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:LinkButton ID="Linkbtnclass" runat="server" CssClass="lbldasteM"
CommandArgument='<%# Eval("Name") %>' OnClick="Linkbtnclass_Click"><%# Eval("Name") %></asp:LinkButton>
<div id="MM31"></div>
[Code] ....
Here I want when click on linkbutton it change text's color so I wrote below code:
protected void c(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
this.GetCustomersPageWiseMC(1, (sender as LinkButton).CommandArgument);
BindDataListD(DLclassC, "classTI_documentry");
DataListItem item = (DataListItem)(sender as LinkButton).NamingContainer;
foreach (DataListItem dlItems in DLclass.Items)
[Code] ....
For Linkbtnclass_Click it worked correctly and when I click on linkbutton it change color but for LinkbtnclassC_Click when I click on linkbutton it make this error:
Server Error in '/' Application.

programmatically creating an ImageButton. i am getting an error, object reference not set to an instance of an object. The application is not finished so most of it will not work but my question is about the ImageButton only. The application can be viewed at:
http://sclever.com/definet/MyCalendar.aspx
user: aansari
pass: aansari
as you can see in the C# code below. i create an ImageButton imgBtn and attach the properties to it but when i click on the ImageButton from the calendar, it gives me an error. at the moment, clicking on the imgbtn is only suppose to write something to the trace. i am not sure whether or not the fact that the imgbtn is created inside a for loop has anything to do with it.

I have 2 pages in my project (that are causing the problems). My default page has a FormView that for some reason will not let me access page events, such as buttons for instance, in code behind. They show up fine on page but are not visible in the page events drop down in code behind. We are using a work around for that.
The main issue now is that on my ViewTaxes.aspx page I need to get the values of some of the text boxes from the default page by Control Number, i.e. whatever record is being viewed on default page when you click the ViewTaxes link button, much more detailed information about that particular record is displayed on ViewTaxes. If on ViewTaxes I use a SELECT * statement I can access the ViewTaxes page when I click the button. We, of course, need to filter the data displayed by ControlNumber. When I add a WHERE clause to the DS on ViewTaxes page and click linkbutton on the default page I get an Object Reference error. This error seems to have something to do with a group of textboxes that are displayed via Session in codebehind. Values from default page being displayed in one section of ViewTaxes page. The error when thrown always points to Session("Owner1") = txtCust1.Text. If that code is removed then error will go to next Session variable, an so on.
I should also point out that both pages worked fine, no problems at all, using a test MySql table. We recently migrated the actual table that will be used from an Access database and replaced the test table. Can't find any spelling errors or anything of that nature. There are some Null fields in this database but it is set to allow Nulls.

I have a button on a page with a Repeater and an ObjectDataSource. To give credit where credit is due, the Repeater's paging functionality is courtesy of ScottGu. (However, I'm using ASP.NET 4.0 and SQL Server 2008, as opposed to ASP.NET 2.0 and SQL Server 2005.)
Anyway, in the button's click event, I need to access the Text property of a Label that's inside the Repeater because it's used as an input parameter in a stored procedure. I'm getting a NullReferenceException when trying to access the Label's Text property. I have researched this error and have tried a few different solutions (involving FindControl and the Repeater's ItemDataBound event), but I haven't been able to get it to work. The code is below.

I am trying to implement the code URL...I have a database table with Integer type.Here is the running code line: Code in GridView:
<asp:TemplateField HeaderText="RegionNavn">
<ItemTemplate>
<%# Eval("RegionNavn")%>
</ItemTemplate>
<EditItemTemplate>
<asp:Label ID="lblRegionNavn" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("RegionNavn")%>' Visible = "false"></asp:Label>
[code]...
On Edit Click, the DropDownList in the GridView brings the previously selected value.On Update Click, the error is: "System.FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format."
dCmd.Parameters.Add("@KystverketRegionID", SqlDbType.Int).Value = int.Parse(ddKystverketRegionID.SelectedValue);
When I use the following code:
ddlRegionNavn.DataTextField = "RegionNavn";
ddlRegionNavn.DataValueField = "RegionID"; // from RegionNavn to RegionID
On Edit Click, the DropDownList values in the GridView is not firing and the following error shows.Object reference not set to an instance of an object. How to implement the code when having a value of type Int ?

I have a dropdownlist attached to a cell when edit is selected. I am using the following code to populate the drop down list with the value that is on the row.
dlBU.Items.FindByValue((e.Row.FindControl("lblBU") as Label).Text).Selected = true;
This works famously when I have a value in the cell. It fails when the cell has not yet been populated. Is there an if then clause that if the value of e.Row.findcontrol("lblBU") is null no default value?
