The following utility works great on my machine but not on a partner's machine. The container and strChild values come through but the second line throws an error.

To me this should be much easier, but I can't seem to retain the values that are put in the Insert template upon a validation failure or when the sql fails. This will prevent the user from having to retype everything agin in the event of a failure.
As you can see I am using the Sub Insert_Click and not using an insert through the wizard. so the fields are unbound textboxes on the form. There are 2 dropdowns that provide choices for the other fields.
I pasted in the code using the text only option becuase the format was getting messed up. I probably need more background on why the fields are blanking out.

problem with Stream.Write() where it works under a dev (Windows 7) environment but fails under a server environment (Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise)?
I'm basically working with some third party code which reads from a FileStream and writing to an Http request, nothing unusual and it's doing the following things:
Ensuring that Response.KeepAlive is false (was originally true but worked W7 and not W2K8 so tried false but it doesn't );
Ensuring that the Write includes the length of the bytes to write;
Ensuring that I Flush the stream afterwards;
The error that I encounter is the rather vague 'The request was aborted: The request was canceled.' with InnerException of 'Cannot close stream until all bytes are written.'. Now, my code works perfectly under Windows 7 so I still suspect that something is actively blocking this writing although I am not sure what, how and where.
One other possibility I wondered about was whether the encoding might be different under Windows Server 2008 R2 as opposed to Windows 7?

View 2 RepliesI recently put some code <% %> code blocks in my Master Page. Note I've read of the "fix" for either moving things out of <head> or using <%# %> but neither of them work well for my application.
Now the weird thing is that I only get this error on one page of mine. All the other pages seem to work fine, so what actually causes this error? There is nothing I can think of that is unique about this page. It uses the script manager as does other working pages and there is just nothing extraordinary about this page. It does have quite a few custom controls on it, so hunting down what is different in this page is more difficult than usual.

I have tried placing Java script function in the body of Master page from header, whereas I just removed the Java script tag and its contents in search.aspx (as of its not required now). Still getting exception.

Im binding an image to a repeater and giving the image id a unquie value based on the id from the database. The problem im having is trying to find the control within the repeater as i dont know the exact id of the control as its generated at runtime.
What im trying to do is count how many items are bound then after the first one assign a new css class to the rest.
How am i able to find the controls id on itemDataBound ?

Not so sure what to do about all of this. I have developed a simple calendar using an XML doc and a repeater. The parent repeater contains a child repeater that lists events based on the date. I have a User Control that has some unique capablities for control the date in a link button. I want the user to click on the User Control and be able to use the information to do something. Bottom line, I want to access the linkbutton inside the repeater.
