How To Create A Thumbnail Solution In Order To Display Pictures Of Products
Jan 21, 2010
I need to create a thumbnail solution in order to display pictures of products.
There can be more than 1 thumbnail per product and I need a way to enlarge the image as well.
The thumbnails will be displayed in atleast 3 or 4 pages across the system and I need the ability to delete them as well.
For version 2 of the software (knowing PM's it may be thrown into Version 1), I think I will need to be able to enhance this feature to allow movie clips so that's something I need to keep in mind.
The images will be stored in the DB so I can sort the code to retrieve them but I'm originally a windows programmer and this is my first major ASP.NET project and also my first attempt at C#.
I'm a complete novice to ASP.Net embarking on a charity work for a primary school in Africa to create a simple website. The website should have a webpage that users can upload pictures that is stored and displayed as thumbnails. Which can be click on to show the picture in its actual size.
I've used masterpages to create a consistent look across all pages. On the gallery page, I have a textbox and a button which are yet to be programmed.
I am developing a website that display products and the users will be able to rate these products. At the end of the month a winner product will be highlighted on the website home page. What I need to know is how to determine the winner product if I have the following rating scenario, The user will rate for the product by choosing a value from 1 to 5 where 1 mean bad and 5 excellent.
If 10 users voted for the product A and the average rating was 4 and 1 user voted for product B and the average rating were 5 that mean product B will be the winner. I feel this is not the correct method to determine the winner. one has better method that take in consideration the number of voted users to determine the winner?
I'm working on an ecommerce project that is missing 5,000 product pictures.
I am trying to assign all products without pictures into a category located on a mapping table.
I know an insert can be accomplished from one table (or subquery) to another but I only need to find the product IDs and insert them with default values into the category mapping table that has all non-null columns.
The following code is the farthest I can get without help (I'm not strong in SQL), it won't work because my subquery returns many rows while the SQL statement is designed to insert one - I don't know how to handle this...
[Code]....
Any help would be appreciated from those more experienced than I. BTW... there are no known search results for this type of solution - if there is even a solution.
i want when user click in this item on jquery menu in Furniture.aspx will show all product in this item H_name is'nt important i want show all product with different H_name
I had no problem with this in Visual Studio 2008 but it seems that VS 2010 is having an issue, and I'm betting it's probably me.I have a solution with an ASP.NET Web Site Project and a few C# projects (BLL, DAL, Tests in NUnit). I have configured the build process for the test project to automatically run NUnit to run the tests. I would like to ensure that the BLL and DAL projects build before the test project so that the tests will run against the latest compiled version (yes, I know I could do this all in one project, but I'm choosing not to -- please bear with me :) )
So, I set the dependencies of the Test project to include the BLL, DAL, and Web Application projects, and the build order shows BLL, DAL, Web Application, and then Tests. However, I noticed that the BLL doesn't actually build when I build the Test project.Any idea what this could be or any option I might be missing to force the other projects to build when I build the Test project?
After saving image in db how can we retrieve it in gridview like thumbnail size image and by clicking on image in gridview its open as preview. How can we do this in asp.net using c#.
I have imaages stored on my data base as VARBINARY(MAX) DataType. I would like to display them in a user profiles. I don't understand how to load images from code behind in asp.net controls. The code I have so far is ass follows but this code does not display picture in a control. The code snipet is as follows:
I need to display a list of products 1 below each other with a textbox, i will also need a checkbox that will hold the prodID. so i was thinking i need to do a loop but i am not sure how to do it. It needs to be like this
[checkbox(which will contain the prodID)] prodName Qty [textbox1] [textbox2]
so for each product in my products table i want to display it like above, now this is for a stock take module so the client will enter his values for each product in textbox1, when the client clicks the submit button, i will need to loop through the above products and calculate the difference if any so it will be (QTY - TEXTBOX1), if there is a difference the check the checkbox and display the difference in TEXTBOX2. so if the QTY = 10 and the client entered 8 in textbox1 then textbox2 should show you 2 and the checkbox should be checked. then the client will click the update button and it will loop through every product above and where the checkbox is checked, it should update the QTY of that product from the value entered in textbox1.
i want to develop web page in asp(2.0) c#. in this page i want to create and show multiple thiumbnail. for example c:/image and this folder have 5 .jpeg file. when run my web page then show all thumbnail of 5 images without saving thumnails.
I have a ModalPopupExtender control inside accordin control, users can add images, that I sotre the path in database(sql server) and the actual image in physical address inside web server,I automatically resize the image to thumbnail size in C#, when users first connect to the site, the see the thubmnail version of the image, which is much faster to download, and by clicking the thubnail, the hidden asp:pnael is shown with imzge in full size, I use javascript to unhide the panel and also change the image source to actual image, everything works fine in IE, but in Firefox and Chrome, the first time user clicks on thumbnail can not see the full size image, only after couple of time, they see the full size image? what could be the problem?
I am using asp.net ,C# what is the best way to achieve this?
I have an Image control on my page that should display a thumbnail preview of the actual image. The URL property of this control is assigned through the code-behind using:
Before moving my files to another location, this assignment works fine (The files used to be located inside the application folder). But after moving all files to another drive in the same server, the images don't seem to render any longer. I can upload/download files fine but they just won't display as thumbnails on the page.
I am creating a website where users can upload a profile picture. When a photo is uploaded I am resizing it and generating two new files one for a thumbnail view and one for a large view. Both photos are stored in the same folder and the file names are stored in to two different columns in an SQL table against the users membership account. The two new files use the following naming convention:
Random_name_small.jpg Random_name_large.jpg
I am then using a grid view with a custom template and an image button to display the Random_name_small.jpg. What I would like to do is when some clicks on this thumbnail photo to then display the associated Random_name_large.jpg. From the SQL select command I am reading both the Random_name_small.jpg and Random_name_large.jpg and then binding Random_name_small.jpg to the image button. Can this be done using the details view or should I be rewriting the code manually to display these images.
I have a gridview which shows products from product table. I have 1000s of products in db and gridview shows 15 records per page. I want to fetch only 15 records from database at one time but page number should show as all products are in list and with page change next products should be displayed. grid has sorting enabled. on top of page there is a text box for records filtering so I need to keep sorting in mind as well.
A user will upload the images through FTP in the images folder. So my requirement is when he clicks on the link say for eg [URL] all the images should be displayed in the thumbnail format. What I did is I opened the IIS and over there I selected the directory listing. So when I click on the link [URL] it shows the list of images. But I want this in the thumbnail format.
I have a table which contains products with many different attributes (columns). Depending on which product the user looks at I want to present it differently as one product might have only a few attributes and others have a lot. I have been thinking a long the line of having a set of templates and associate each product with a template but can't figure out how implement that in a smart way. Some options I have been thinking of 1) One datasource and several formviews - doesn't work if I'm not misstaken 2) Several form views and datasoruces - this would however need programming to enable to right set. 3) Using the wizard control to separate different form views and data sources.
I am looking c# code which creates better quality higher resolution thumbnail image. i am having an image of dimension(600 * 900) and i need to create thumbnail of dimension (100 * 100) with high quality.
