View 1 RepliesI have created an asp.net web page that allows one to query a SQL Database and returns a recordset in a bound gridview. My question is how can I provide a means for the authorized webpage user to print the recordset out, in like a cvs text file? I need to be able to allow her to choose her printer, like in a regular print dialog box, and then to print the whole recordset, not just the page she's on.

View 2 RepliesI have a web page that displays a bunch of data in datagrids. One Data Grid even includes hyperlinks to documents the user has uploaded on the server that are specific to the data displaying. This all works reat, but there is still a manual process where the administrator needs to print the webpage that displayed to a .pdf, and if possible, merge in the uploaded documents that are hyperlinked to the data. I'm not even sure where to start on this. Is this something .NET can do?

the template of my website looks quite good when printed, so i have no separate print css.
However, there is one element at the top which is not needed when printed, and about 2 inches high, so that's kind of a waste at the top of the printed page (which imho distracts the user from the actual content)
So, what i want to accomplish, is 'hide' that element (div) at the top of the page when a user prints the page.
But so far the only solution i've seen is top create a separate css document which then will be used when the user will print my page. That sounds good, but do i now have to maintain 2 different stylesheets with exact the same content (besides that one div)?
Or is it possible to sort of override the standard stylesheet in the print stylesheet? (so i only have to define the exception for that one div in my print stylesheet?)

I'm having issues using the Print/Export functions from the CrystalReportViewer toolbar in Visual Studio 2005. In some cases, the print/export dialog window is simply replaced with the report page, instead of exporting/printing the data. Based on a dropdown box, the Report Document is loaded with a different report file:
If ddReport.SelectedValue = "Report-1" Then rptDoc1.Load(Server.MapPath("/Reports/Report1.rpt"))Else rptDoc1.Load(Server.MapPath("/Reports/Report2.rpt"))End If
we are creating a custom content management and out portal page is bit bulky it is about 60Kb without images.
and during loading the page in some browser we can see some parts of site load faster than the other parts of the site where as we want to indicate (or instruct the web server) to load some of the areas first then load rest of the page.
is there any particular setting in IIS for is there any particular method in classic asp for doing that?
also I have the same question in asp.net.

View 2 RepliesI have menu item on my master page that has block around the text when the page is first run. I wrote in the css on the link and visited property to change the color to match the image color that it is on. When a menu item is clicked the color changes to the right color. How do I get it to the right color on when the page first opens or is there a way to get rid of the block or make it transperant?
View 1 RepliesI have 2 separate code-block asp.Net expressions in an aspx markup, with an html content between (span element in the example below). In the first code-block, there is "i" as an increment variable for the for loop. Then the code-block is cut with an html content. And another code-block expression is opened but as I see I can reach the "i" variable which was declared in the previous code-block.
So, how asp.net handles -compiles- the pieces of code-block experrions declared in the mark up? Does it check the semi-colons and generates some anonymous methods which will end up with many calls to Response.Write in the last place?

We have several asp.net web applications we've built and we also want to embed them into various sharepoint pages. We need to have them look like standalone applications when viewed in their own pages, but also have them look like they fit within the sharepoint page when embedded. We are doing this currently with IFrames and it works ok, but I'm wondering if there is some sort of proxy web part where we can configure the web part to point to an existing web app and it will proxy the contents through from the web app into the sharepoint page removing the need for an IFrame. Possible?

View 1 RepliesWhen using SPWeb.GetCatalog(SPListTemplateType.WebPartCatalog), it returns an SPList which of course contains a SPListItemCollection of the web parts in the web part gallery. When looping through the items, is there any easy way to get properties of the web parts? Such as AllowClose, CatalogIconImageUrl, etc... I know I can probably accomplish this using the listItem.OpenBinaryStream etc and loading the xml of the .webpart file, but I wondered if there was an easier way to do this.
