How To Add Data In C# Session Multidimensional Array

Mar 20, 2011

I'm trying to add form data from an asp.net wizard into a session array object. The object should store the question number and question answer selected by the user for each question. I'm trying to use a multidimensional array to store the question number and the associated answer. I would also be open to using a hashtable or dictionary solution.This is the code I've got so far:

string[,] strQandA = new string[10, 2] {{"1", Q1.SelectedValue}, {"2", Q2.SelectedValue}, {"3", Q3.SelectedValue}, {"4", Q4.SelectedValue}, {"5", Q5.SelectedValue}, {"6", Q6.SelectedValue}, {"7", Q7.SelectedValue}, {"8",

ADO.NET :: Looping Through A Datareader And Creating An Multidimensional Array

Nov 30, 2010

I have a datareader that i loop through comparing the values of the reader to the ones i got in an (from the start, empty) array, as i do this i want to put either a new post in the array or update an existing post depending on if i found a corresponding value or not. The datareader and array both contains name and value.

First i tried to declare a regular multidimensional array, but they are fixed size so that seemed like a bad idea, next thing i tried was creating an arraylist but they seemed to lack support for multidimension. I'm a bit lost on what to use.

DataSource Controls :: Accessing Array Objects In Sql Statement?

Jun 6, 2010

I have a gridview control that displays expenses claims received from clients. I have a template field that contains a checkbox - if this is ticked, a value from the gridview is added to a variable and this is outputted to a label control.

What I then want to do is to update the database according to which row has been ticked. I have so far the following code that adds each value to an array, which I was then hoping to access in the sql query i.e. Update table set value = value where id = (id's added to array)..

Code as follows - so far I'm just displaying the count of values in the array to make sure they are actually being added:

Architecture :: Creating, Populating And Accessing Multidimensional Arrays?

Nov 14, 2010

I've created 2 multi dimensional arrays (2 dimensions each), I want to feed them both into a function, and I would like the function to spit out an array or list containing both of them as arrays, so I can use them as they were before they went into the function.

The way I've done it at the moment is probably very inifficient and I'm having trouble accessing it properly.

What follows is my attempt to put the 2 arrays (attackerarmy and defenderarmy) into a new array called armyresults and adding an additional dimension to tell me if the record belongs to the attacker or defender:

[Code]....

Since I've already got the 2 arrays I want in the function, I've rather not inefficiently force them into a new array, only to try to re build them again when they come out of the function.

how to out 2 arrays of unknown size into an array of arrays for the return statement of my function, and then how I can access those individual arrays so I can easily copy them back out into their original form?

Add Values To Array and Replace Preexisting Array Items With New Values without The Array Changing Size?

Aug 19, 2010

I need to know what would be the best choice of array to use given the following specifications. This array's size will be predermined upon the loading of the appication. All I want to do is be able to add values to this array and replace preexisting array items with new values without the array changing size. Someone suggested that I use a Dictionary Array Object? I would appreciate any suggestions.

Forms Data Controls :: Bind A Multidimensional Arry (or List) To A Data Conntrol?

Dec 8, 2010

I would like to bind a multi domensional arry to a data control (at the moment any data control will do - I just want to present the data).

suppose I have the following array:

string[,] strArr = new string[5,3];

strArr[0,0] = "0,0";
strArr[0, 1] = "0,1";
strArr[0, 2] = "0,2";
strArr[1, 0] = "1,0";
strArr[1, 1] = "1,1";
strArr[1, 2] = "1,2";
strArr[2, 0] = "2,0";
strArr[2, 1] = "2,1";
strArr[2, 2] = "2,2";
strArr[3, 0] = "3,0";
strArr[3, 1] = "3,1";
strArr[3, 2] = "3,2";
strArr[4, 0] = "4,0";
strArr[4, 1] = "4,1";
strArr[4, 2] = "4,2";

can you provide an example of how to dind this array to any of the standard data controls?

Why Use Url.Content For Referencing Resources

Dec 10, 2010

In almost every ASP.NET MVC example I've come across, I always see Url.Content being used to reference CSS, JavaScript, and Images. Not once has anyone explained WHY to use it.

What's so bad about doing:

<img src="/Content/Img/MyImage.png" alt="My Image" />
<script src="/Scripts/jquery.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<link href="/Content/Css/Default.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all" />

The Website Is Already Referencing The Assembly?

Jul 13, 2010

I keep trying to add an assembly reference to my website which doesn't show up anywhere in my code. Specifically, I would like to add a reference to System.Xml.Linq.dll to my website. No such reference appears in my web.config file. Also, when I right click on the website in the Solution Explorer window, go to Property Pages, and then click on References in the left-hand column, System.Xml.Linq does not appear. Yet, when I right-click on the website and go to add reference, I ultimately am met with the error:

"The website is already referencing the assembly 'System.Xml.Linq'"

Also, when I put a using statement at the top of one of my classes in my App_Code folder for the System.Xml.Linq namespace, the Visual Studio IDE does not flag it as an error.Any insight into this strangeness would be very much appreciated. I'd like to put this into production someday, and I'm worried it might not work due to a missing reference. The version I'm currently using is Visual Studio 2010 Professional Edition.

Referencing Content From Master Page?

Mar 19, 2011

I have a Master Page that contains a Menu Control. Each menu item clicked is supposed to load a new aspx page. My problem is (since I'm new to Master Pages) actually loading a Content Page. This is what my MP code looks like and it's only just a snippet. The first set of code are the ContentPlaceHolders in my MP. The second set is the code in my code-behind file in my MP. Hope this makes sense. In the VB code, all I'm trying to do is load my Customer.aspx page. What am I missing?

HTML Code:
<asp:ContentPlaceholder ID="Welcome" runat="server"></asp:ContentPlaceholder>
<asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="MainArea" runat="server"></asp:ContentPlaceHolder>
<asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="CustContent" runat="server"></asp:ContentPlaceHolder>

Code:
Private Sub Menu1_MenuItemClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.MenuEventArgs) Handles Menu1.MenuItemClick
Try
Select Case e.Item.Value
Case "mnuCustomerMaintenance"
MainArea.Page = Customer
End Select
Catch ex As Exception
End Try
End Sub

MVC :: 2 File Referencing From Within LogOn.aspx

Apr 10, 2010

I have written a custom membership provider for my MVC 2 app, and it all works fine. I wanted to force people to log in as soon as they went to the site, so set the authorization section of the web config to deny annonymous users. As expected, when you try and access the site, it re-routes you straight to the LogOn.aspx page. The problem I'm having is that when it initially jumps to the LogOn page, it cannot find any of the files referenced in the html header section.

The strange thing is I set a path to a css file as follows:

../../Content/site.css
yet in the page it shows up as
../Content/site.css

I even wrote a html helper that uses Url.Content on the paths passed in, but this still does not solve the problem. If I go to the LogOn page after the application has initially loaded, it references all the files correctly.

How do you reference a LINQ object that you have created such as a list, in your HTML? I have seen examples of how to do this using MVC, but I am using Web Forms. Here is my LINQ :

[Code]....

And I want to be able to for example check if my linq returns any data and if so iterate through it using a foreach loop in my HTML. change my linq so that it returns a generic list rather than what it is doing at the moment.
