Nov 30, 2010I have a datareader that i loop through comparing the values of the reader to the ones i got in an (from the start, empty) array, as i do this i want to put either a new post in the array or update an existing post depending on if i found a corresponding value or not. The datareader and array both contains name and value.
First i tried to declare a regular multidimensional array, but they are fixed size so that seemed like a bad idea, next thing i tried was creating an arraylist but they seemed to lack support for multidimension. I'm a bit lost on what to use.

Jun 6, 2010I have a gridview control that displays expenses claims received from clients. I have a template field that contains a checkbox - if this is ticked, a value from the gridview is added to a variable and this is outputted to a label control.
What I then want to do is to update the database according to which row has been ticked. I have so far the following code that adds each value to an array, which I was then hoping to access in the sql query i.e. Update table set value = value where id = (id's added to array)..

Nov 14, 2010I've created 2 multi dimensional arrays (2 dimensions each), I want to feed them both into a function, and I would like the function to spit out an array or list containing both of them as arrays, so I can use them as they were before they went into the function.
The way I've done it at the moment is probably very inifficient and I'm having trouble accessing it properly.
What follows is my attempt to put the 2 arrays (attackerarmy and defenderarmy) into a new array called armyresults and adding an additional dimension to tell me if the record belongs to the attacker or defender:

Since I've already got the 2 arrays I want in the function, I've rather not inefficiently force them into a new array, only to try to re build them again when they come out of the function.

Sep 25, 2010have a very important issue,i have three Stored Procedures Sp1,Sp2 and Sp3 .the first one (Sp1) will execute the second one (Sp2) and save returned data into @tempTB1 and the Second one will execute the third one (Sp3) and save data into @tempTB2.if I execute the Sp2 it will works and it will returned me all my data from the Sp3 ,but the problem is in the Sp1, when i execute it it will display this Error:INSERT EXEC statement cannot be nested I tried to change the place of execute Sp2 and it display me another error:Cannot use the ROLLBACK statement within an INSERT-EXEC statement.

Referencing CSS And JavaScript Files Relatively?

How can I work around that? Should I put all my scripts and CSS files into the root directory, is that a preferred solution?

Jul 13, 2010I keep trying to add an assembly reference to my website which doesn't show up anywhere in my code. Specifically, I would like to add a reference to System.Xml.Linq.dll to my website. No such reference appears in my web.config file. Also, when I right click on the website in the Solution Explorer window, go to Property Pages, and then click on References in the left-hand column, System.Xml.Linq does not appear. Yet, when I right-click on the website and go to add reference, I ultimately am met with the error:
"The website is already referencing the assembly 'System.Xml.Linq'"
Also, when I put a using statement at the top of one of my classes in my App_Code folder for the System.Xml.Linq namespace, the Visual Studio IDE does not flag it as an error.Any insight into this strangeness would be very much appreciated. I'd like to put this into production someday, and I'm worried it might not work due to a missing reference. The version I'm currently using is Visual Studio 2010 Professional Edition.

Mar 19, 2011I have a Master Page that contains a Menu Control. Each menu item clicked is supposed to load a new aspx page. My problem is (since I'm new to Master Pages) actually loading a Content Page. This is what my MP code looks like and it's only just a snippet. The first set of code are the ContentPlaceHolders in my MP. The second set is the code in my code-behind file in my MP. Hope this makes sense. In the VB code, all I'm trying to do is load my Customer.aspx page. What am I missing?

MVC :: 2 File Referencing From Within LogOn.aspx
Apr 10, 2010I have written a custom membership provider for my MVC 2 app, and it all works fine. I wanted to force people to log in as soon as they went to the site, so set the authorization section of the web config to deny annonymous users. As expected, when you try and access the site, it re-routes you straight to the LogOn.aspx page. The problem I'm having is that when it initially jumps to the LogOn page, it cannot find any of the files referenced in the html header section.
The strange thing is I set a path to a css file as follows:
../../Content/site.css
yet in the page it shows up as
../Content/site.css
I even wrote a html helper that uses Url.Content on the paths passed in, but this still does not solve the problem. If I go to the LogOn page after the application has initially loaded, it references all the files correctly.
