MVC :: Partial View Contains A Link That Calls An Action Via Ajax?
Nov 27, 2010
I have a view that renders a few partial views. Each partial view contains a link that calls an action via ajax. The result from the action is used to fill a div. Because I use the same partial view a few times, it always renders the div with the same id. In asp.net, we have something like naming container, that assures that each element has unique ID. How can I make IDs in a partial view unique ?
I would like to create one view for my CRUD actions. The view contains 3 basic DIV updatetargets ("search form", "search result listing" and "action" (would be create, detail, edit, delete). Basic flow would be: "Search" updates the "Search Result Listing", click on CRUD actions in listing would show partial view in "action".
how do I call to refresh the "Listing" after I do any add/update/delete without having user click search again?
I have an MVC view that contains a number of partial views. These partial views are populated using partial requests so the controller for the view itself doesn't pass any data to them. Is it possible to reload the data in one of those partial views if an action was triggered in another? For example, one partial view has a jqGrid and I want to refresh the data in another partial view when a user selects a new row in this grid. Is there a code example for this scenario (in C#) that I can look at to see what am I doing wrong? I am using ajax calls to trigger a new request but non of the partial views are refreshed so I am not sure if the issue is with the routing, the controller,
I have a table, there is a column for "edit links" - i'd like to render a partial view under the table via JQuery - but i think i'm missing a step:
Heres the html:[Code]....
I hardcode the link and make it call the "editCloset" js function, hopefully thatll call my Controller, thatll build the ViewModel, and return the View that uses it - so it can be rendered in the PartialView contained in div id="Slots"Right now - im not able to get into the controller, so i missing something i think Heres the controller:
I have one problem with actionlink. My Example is: i have one view(xyz.aspx) and controller(abc.vb) , in this view i put below line
<%=Html.ActionLink("Manage", "Index", "Advertisement", New With {.aintCampaignid = Cam.CampaignID})%>
I have another view(Index.aspx) and controller(Advertisement.vb) if click on manage link in XYZ view it will call to advertisement controller and index function But iam getting [URL] it wont call.
i have a partial view which iterates over a colection so at the end of the day i have several partial views on my page in a long list.within each partial view, i have an actionlink..on clicking this link, i want to refresh that particular partial view and change the link to an image.how can i do this with jquery and MVC 2 ?i think i have seen something like this on the facebook and twitter interface.
when I was trying to set this ModalPopUpExtender i was using a btn1 as the targetCOntrolID. btn1 is no longer used and i want to remove it from the page, but dont know what to do about the TargetControlID.
ASP Code [Code]....
VB Code Behind [Code]....
There is a gridview on the page and when the user clicks the link button it calls the popup..
[Code].... How can I remove btn1 and the ModalPopUpExtender still work ?
I have a master page with a partial view. I want the partial view to display only when viewing a specific page/action. Is there any conditional I can wrap around the partial view that checks for the page/action I'm viewing?
Lets say I have a simple controller for ASP.NET MVC I want to test. I want to test that a controller action (Foo, in this case) simply returns a link to another action (Bar, in this case). How would you test TestController.Foo? (either the first or second link)
My implementation has the same link twice. One passes the url throw ViewData[]. This seems more testable to me, as I can check the ViewData collection returned from Foo(). Even this way though, I don't know how to validate the url itself without making dependencies on routing. The controller:
public class TestController : Controller { public ActionResult Foo()[code].....
I'm struggling with renderaction, the problem is that it calls the wrong action method on my controller. On my "Users" controller there are two action methods called edit, one for get and one for post requests:
public virtual ActionResult Edit(int id) { //return a view for editing the user
I have a partial view which uses Ajax.ActionLink to perform paging. The AjaxOptions in the link identify the update target (a div on the main view) and some javascript to run OnSuccess (in the partial view). The javascript must be in the partial view since there is some information in the partial view required to properly wire up the jQuery in the javascript. This isn't working as expected. The sample below is the minimum code to duplicate the behavior I am seeing:
Controller:
[Code]....
View:
[Code]...
Partial View:
[Code]....
I would expect that the value shown in the javascript alert would increase each time you click the link. I put in a break point and made sure the value was incrementing so it is definitely a problem in the ajax side. Is this by design? If so, what is the recommended work-around.
I have a partial view FileUpload which contains a file control. <ul> <li> <label> <span>*</span>Select the file: [code]...
This partial view is added in view Document which have few textboxes to get detials of document. I need to upload the files and add file details to database using jquery also need to retain the values in the textboxes (which is to be saved in another "Save" click) after the upload function is called
I have a table of data from which I am trying to delete a single row using jQuery. While I am having no problems getting a POST delete to work, Iam having issues getting the partial view to update properly to reflect the deleted data. The table resides in a strongly-typed view, Errors.ascx, which is called in my Index.aspx page. Errors.ascx is nothing special, just a table where each row has a delete button that looks like this:
I'm trying to do an Ajax delete in a fairly standard Index few, i.e. I have a generated Index view with one added filter drop-down, of little relevance here. I have changed the free Delete Html.ActionLink on every row to an Ajax.ActionLink, and the delete and ajax update work, but whichever container div I try and update, I always somehow get some kind of nesting in the updated page, e.g. after a delete and update, I get duplicate Home and About links from the master page inside my content. Here is my current action link that causes what I describe above:
<%: Ajax.ActionLink("Delete", "Delete", new { id = item.InstallationDBNumber }, new AjaxOptions { UpdateTargetId = "jobList" }) %>
... and here is where jobList is located, just outside the table used for the index list:
I have a view.On which i have two partial viewMy m ain is like this ->.(Note i am using Ajax.BeginForm here.)
[Code]....
butmy issue is this that i have a button in SearchRequestCriteria partial view on which a function from my controller is called. And the result is bind into the SearchRequestResults partial view.but from when i am using Ajax,BeginForm is does not bind the result to thisSearchRequestResults Partial view.I have debug the program & found that the result is came into the SearchRequestModel & but it does shows in the SearchRequestResults partial view.i want the result in this by using Ajax.
I have a list of items that loads when I call the page controller and I have an Ajax.BeginForm that calls the same (Index) Action. If the Action sees that it's an Ajax request (Request.IsAjaxRequest()) then it returns a partial view. I even have a div that contains a message about the results loading. That all works fine, but my results can sometimes take awhile and I'd like to hit the page first and then make the Ajax request so the user sees the page quickly and sees the "loading" message. I know I could click my filter button (triggering the ajax call) using jquery on document.ready, but is there a more MVC way to do this?
I am trying to implement an ajax form inside of a jquery ui dialog.
I have a view with a button that opens the modal dialog form, makes an ajax call to an action that loads a partial view into the dialog. The partial view consists of a form created via Ajax.begin form. When I post the form I close the modal and update a div on my main page. This all works fine.
The problem is, the next time I open the modal and submit the form the http POST for the form is called twice. The third time I open/submit the form is submitted 3 times and so on...
It seems as if the submit button/form is bound multiple times and I cant figure out how to fix this.
Here is my code...
first the jquery call to load the ajax form partial view and create the modal...
After wading through quite a few articles on creating modal forms (using partial views and jquery) I got things working fine for my login....as long as you enter a valid login though!
What I did:
Created a partial view containing my login form.
In my action controller, the get action just return a PartialViewResult, which get dealt with by a bit of jQuery in my master:[Code]....
Like I said this works fine. Now the post action of my login check if it's a valid login, and if so send the user to the passed returnurl or the home page.
However, if the validation fails, I now return the partial view again, which work , but the partial get displayed by itself instead of rendering in the modal form that was opened by jquery.
Members view (index) that lists members that users can select to show a partial view in the same view with details for the selected memberUses jquery (Ajax.ActionLink) to call a partial view method in the members controller to then load the members detail sectionWorks fine up to here....but I'd like to load the partial view with "member" details for a default or random member on initial load -- ie not through the Actionlink selectionHow do I invoke the partial view method on the initial load?
Let's say there is a textbox and a dropdownlist in mainview page, these two values are used by three partial views as well. when I use Html.RenderAction to post action to those three partial views, how to pass these two values to those partial views and in those views how to get these two values as a part of a object to send to database.
've created a Search partial view and it works, except for my view model. What i mean is, the partial view sends a string to my ActionResult Method, but only a string, that is not related to the view model that the partial view is built in. If i tell my ActionResult method to receive the view model in which the partial view is built in, it always tells me that i have null values. Here's my code This is my partial view:
[Code]....
Now here is my Model in my MoviesSearch view model:
