Sep 14, 2010Is the Microsoft Mobile Internet Toolkit (MMIT) used for developing web-based mobile apps, or just for mobile apps that get installed on the device? I'm new to mobile development, and plan to build an app that will be accessed via a mobile device. This app is NOT an app that gets installed on the device. Can someone point me in a good direction regarding what I should be installing? I'm using VS 2008, and the app will likely be an ASP MVC platform-based application. However, I'm not married to that platform, and I will use whatever makes the most sense.

Jan 17, 2011When I downloaded the Ajax Tool Kit 3.5 and extracted the files, I then opened a site and went to the design view of a aspx page and clicked in the tool box, added a new catagory called tookit and then right clicked and selected "Choose Items". Everytime I've done this it closes out MS Studio 2008 Pro? Can someone tell me what to do? I need that ajax tool kit for future projects on the web, and for one that I'm just starting on now

Apr 10, 2010This is the first time i am going to develop asp.net web application for mobiles. All these while i thought there are seperate project templates available in VS2008 and VS2010 as i used to see them in VS2003. Now it is missing. I have also seen assemplies(System.Web.Mobile) available in .net framework for mobile based web controls. I googled, i did not find any convincing results :(.
Do i need to use the same Asp.net WebSite template for both desktop browsers and mobile browsers just by considering the screen layout?. that is i should detect if the request is from desktop browsers use one type of layout and other for mobile browsers. If my understanding is right? how do i test those web pages for different mobile models?
