I wrote a page Page method in my aspx page. in web service method I need to call FindControl method return textbox and get text box value. But my findControl will take MasterPage object to iterate.
code.<script type = "text/javascript"> function ShowCurrentDateTime() { $.ajax({ [code]....
But I am getting compiler error when use Page.Master: Reference to non-shared member requires an object reference
How to pass Master Page object or Page to Page method?. So I can use in Sared method.Is there any way I can access Textbox value directly in Page method? I need access couple of controls in Page Method.
[WebMethod] [SoapHeader("_webServiceAuth")] public User GetUser(string username){ try { this._validationMethods.Validate(_webServiceAuth); User user = new User(username); [code]...

I have a web page (Provider) that creates an XML file to be send to the Requester in this fashion:
1. A Requester page needs to send an XML file to the provider page 2. Provider will read the XML file to authenticate the request 3. Provider will Create an xml file with some data. 4. Provider will send the xml file back to the Requester.
Can anyone provide sample code for both the Requestor page (step 1) and the Provider page (steps 2 & 3)
i redirect a page from http to https using http module begin request handler .i am calling webservice using ajax but it is saying webserice not defined .which otherwise works fineits work fine when rediect page in page_load instead .but i need to add function for https to http in every page. i still not know why ajax is not working when i use http module for redirect
I am having problem redirecting error when error is http 500 or http 403 locally running this site there is no problem it gets redirected to my errorpage.aspx. But when deployed at server, it does not get .tried putting try and catch in page_load and in global.asax and I have set Application_Error to redirect to that page and also set <customErrors defaultRedirect to that page also
I develop an asmx web service (i.e. ASP.NET 2.0). There's a piece of code that may read the contents of the HTTP request (via HttpContext.Current.Request.InputStream) while processing it. I realise that InputStream may only be read once for a request, and I make sure I never try to read it more than once.
The problem seems to be that if InputStream happens to be read during the early stages of the application's lifecycle (e.g. after pskill w3wp, during Application_Start), the HTTP request fails with a HTTP 400 - Bad Request error, with no explanation given, no exception thrown and no entry in the httperr log. If it is read later (e.g. within the web method itself), requests run fine whether InputStream is read or not. Application_Start runs fine if InputStream isn't read.
Is this some sort of ASP.NET bug? IIS bug? Or am I doing something wrong by daring to read InputStream? And if so, is there another way to get a look at the "raw" contents of the request without disturbing the inner workings of IIS/ASP.NET? In short, adding this code within Application_Start is enough to reproduce this error: using (StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(HttpContext.Current.Request.InputStream))reader.ReadToEnd();
I am new to this topic. SO please look over my stupid mistakes. I have web application and its virtual directory path is as followshtpp://localhost/TxtXmlImggHandler/This root has three pages one for text, one for xml, one for images. Actually these pages call three different handlers. I had no problem when I send/receive some data to HTTPHandler for processing, had no problem when I request xml file from HTTPHandler.Now I am trying to get image from HTTPHandler, but no luck. All my HTTPHandlers are sitting in root of my web application
I am using VS 2008 SP1. My also have included CSS Friendly adapter [URL] in my project ( I mentioned this because my GridView Empty data template is not showing when using GridView's CCS Friendly adapter). I have a GridView and a DetailsView. When a record in GridView is selected its details information is shown in the Details View. Type of Data source I am using is ObjectDataSource. My Insert and Update methods works perfectly. It is only the Delete method that is passing null values to the underlying object delete method. My source codes for both the UI, BLL, DAL is shown below
we need to expose a web service to the 3rd party vendor which can only call using POST protocol, NOT SOAP.So my question, is it better to build a web service or just simply .aspx page?Also is there any best practice documentation on this.
In my current project, my client application first talk with the server and the server returned an upload url for me to upload a file, the url looks like this: [URL] Then I want to use HTTP PUT method to upload the local "c:pesult.cab" to the above loacation. How could I do this? And could anyone give me a detailed description about the whole uploading mechanism? When I use a ASP.NET upload control, I just click the browse button to locate my file and click submit, and on the server side, I just call the SaveAs() method of the upload control. Here is some code:
protected void UploadButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { if(FileUploadControl.HasFile) { try { string filename = Path.GetFileName(FileUploadControl.FileName); FileUploadControl.SaveAs(Server.MapPath("~/") + filename); StatusLabel.Text = "Upload status: File uploaded!"; } catch (Exception ex) { StatusLabel.Text = "Upload status: The file could not be uploaded. The following error occured: " + ex.Message; } } }
Who is responsible for reading the file and sending it? What happens when I call FileUploadControl.SaveAs() method? Does the server pull the file from client, or the client push the file to the server? I know HTTP is text based, but my result.cab is not text, so is it Base64 encoded before being sent? How does HTTP PUT method work? Is it a client side push, or a server side pull? Or interaction of both like some kind of handshake?
I have a actionresult index method in my controller and a http post method for the same name. when i run the program the control should go to the http post method but by default it goes to the index method.
my ASP.NET application reads an xml file to determine which environment it's currently in (e.g. local, development, production).
It checks this file every single time it opens a connection to the database, in order to know which connection string to grab from the Application Settings.
I'm entering a phase of development where efficiency is becoming a concern. I don't think it's a good idea to have to read a file on a physical disk ever single time I wish to access the database (very often).
I was considering storing the connection string in Application["ConnectionString"].
[code].....
I didn't design the application so I figure there must have been a reason for reading the xml file every time (to change settings while the application runs?) I have very little concept of the inner workings here. What are the pros and cons?
public class UserModel { public Guid Id { get; set; } public string EmailAddress { get; set; } public string LoginName { get; set; } public string Password { get; set; } } public class GroupModel { public Guid Id { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public List<UserModel> Users { get; set; } }
I created a View (Create.Aspx) by inheriting GroupModel class.
It is generating only two fields (Id, Name) in my aspx view. Also I am able to get the form data in the Model class object in ё[HttpPost]ё request which contains the data for ID and NAME field in controller.
How can I get the data in List<UserModel> object? I am thinking to Put a List control with checkboxes containing Users. Then catch them using FormCollection object in controller.
I have added a Web Reference in my IIS, I could not add that in my project.
I have tried with add Web reference -->Web services on the local machine-->a link will be displayed. "Ems_WebSecurity" under services. but once it is clicked it has to give the name in "Web services found at this URL"
but it is showing the following error:
There was an error downloading 'http://localhost/EMS_WebSecurity/Ems_WebSecurity.asmx'. The request failed with HTTP status 404: Object Not Found. There was an error downloading 'http://localhost/EMS_WebSecurity/Ems_WebSecurity.asmx/$metadata'. The request failed with HTTP status 404: Object Not
I am getting an error as "The request failed with HTTP status 404: Object Not Found." earlier I used to get the output for this source code.
from the last two days i am scraching my head, i could not solve the problem, but i have traced the problem, that is when i tryed to open 'http://localhost' from my explorer i am not gettting the IIS help page.
I have created a demo application to read data from the CSV and after read the data from the csv file there is a button to save all the CSV loaded data in the database. When i load the large CSV (2MB) file . after load all the data from the file i will save all the data in datatable and store in view state.
when i click on another Link the page doesn't work and page become expires. Where is the problem.
Its simple doing read CSV file .. file stream closed. store all the csv data in view state. and click on the another link save into the database. but click save database button page expire.
i have create dynamic menu control , i have master page and login page , once the user login , i want to show the dynamic menu in my master page. below i try to call masterpage control in my child page ,but i throughs the error
Object reference not set to an instance of an object. my master page code public partial class MasterPage : System.Web.UI.MasterPage { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { } public string MyProperty { set { // lblUser.Text = value; lblUser.Text = value; // here i got the error } } }
My child page code
protected void btnwork_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { ((MasterPage)this.Master).MyProperty = "Text changed from Sub Page"; }
I am iterating through a dictionay object. And although I added a couple of keys @Microdoft and @Microsoft_Child which I thought were different but when i use the .ContainsKey method it views them as being the same. Should I use ContainsValue method?
