C# Search Oracle Table Column For Regex Pattern

Jan 20, 2010

I'm trying to build an asp.net page using c# that will query a column in an Oracle database that has 20,000 rows. I want to display all rows that match this regular expression pattern "[]$".(should only have about 5 rows that match this pattern) The version of Oracle we use does not support regex so I need to find a way to do this in c# but I'm not sure how do that.

Visual Studio :: Search Entire Project But Skip JavaScript Files?

This is one thing that's long driven me nuts. Sometimes I want to search the entire project for some string, and about a billion matches occur in JavaScript files, making the search unusable. Is there a way to specify file types to include in the search?

Using RegEx With LINQ - Insert A Value Into The Regex?

Feb 19, 2010

I'm having a little trouble with using regex in linq. I want to be able to perform a search on values in my database. The goal is to insert a value into the regex and then use that to search a column in a table in my database for that term. I want it to work so that it gets all exact matches and also returns matches in which the search term is a substring of the term in the column.

I was trying to follow this tutorial on msdn, but it doesn't quite fit perfectly with my problem:

SQL Server :: Convert Result To Positive If Negative?

Oct 25, 2010

i have a select statement below. The result of r1- @r1 may be positive or negative.

i want it to always result as positive, so it is a negative number then it to show the same number as positive. can i do this?

e.g.

r1 = 7, @r1 = 4
r1 - @r1 = 3

but

if r1 = 5, @r1 = 6

r1 = @r1 = -1, but i want this to be 1, because i am trying to work out the difference between the two numbers.

can this be done within a select statement? my select statement is:

SELECT imageurl, (r1 - @r1) AS difference

Globally Changing Format Of Negative Currency Numbers In C#?

Oct 22, 2010

We have a large ASP.NET MVC project where all numbers output to the screen are formatted as currency (i.e. ToString("c"). However, negative numbers are showing up with ()'s. For example:

decimal d = -8.88m;
Console.WriteLine(d.ToString("c"));
//outputs $(8.88)

This is a bit annoying to our users, particularly since there are in textboxes. We have a few thousand places where we send currency fields to the screen like this, so we'd love a way to change the formatting globally. Is there one? All the methods I've seen indicate that you have to create a new formatter, similar to this:

string curCulture = System.Threading.Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture.ToString();
System.Globalization.NumberFormatInfo currencyFormat =
new System.Globalization.CultureInfo(curCulture).NumberFormat;
currencyFormat.CurrencyNegativePattern = 1;

We'd prefer not to change all of our ToString("c") methods ... is there a better way? My first thought was to just change our locale to Australia, but realized the date formatting would be screwed up.

Web Forms :: Index Was Out Of Range - Must Be Non-negative And Less Than Size Of Collection

Feb 2, 2012

I have an array called"List" with 1 item and a gridview "grdWorkingDays" with two columns.

In the First column, I want to display the working days dynamically from the arraylist and in the second column I need to display a dropdown with CL/PL/Halfday(Which has values from a database table and is already written in a method) against each date of array list.

The code is:

int NoOfWorkingDays = List.Count;
for (int j = 0; j < NoOfWorkingDays; j++){
String Date = ((Label)grdWorkingDays.Rows[j].Cells[0].FindControl("lblLeaveType")).Text;
Date = List[j].ToString();

[Code] .....

When I run this, I am getting error as:

"Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection." pointing to the 1st row of for loop.

I am struggling with this for past few days and count find what the error is.

FYI, the array count is being calculated correctly as "1" .

DataSource Controls :: Cannot Sort String With Negative Sign On The Left In SQL Server

Jan 21, 2010

I have encountered a problem about "order by" sorting in SQL. As some of the items (strings) in a dropdown list contain negative sign on the left, it is surprising for me that the SQL server cannot sort the items in an alphabetical order and as a result I was forced to set the property value (IsSort = False) of the Ajax ListSearch, which slow down the searching speed a lot. Below are examples of two of the string items with a negative sign on the left.
