I am creating a web form for employees to submit recipe's on a web form. The fields are recipe name, ingredients, and the recipe instructions. Majority of the time, employee's will be copying/pasting the text from a word document. Currently I am using the ajax editor control. I know there is a "Paste from Word" button that can be used but all the users are not going to know to use the button.
They may just do a right click to paste or the ctrl v to paste. When this is done, all the html tags from Word are pasted as well. I want to be able to remove the tags.
How can I remove the html content and add new string to the Response object. If I use the Respose.Write method the page contains the string, but while taking the view source option from browser it will display some html tag like Doctype, head, body etc. My requirement is only the string should be displayed in the source.
I'm hoping this is an easy one...I'm using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word to convert uploaded word documents into previewable html files. I haven't implemented it fully, but I've played around with it enough that I think I have a plan that will work... My question revolves around
[Code]....
I'm not in love with the idea of opening word and closing it everytime there's an upload (which I hope is a lot of the time) I'd like to make this a shared object that loads at application start. I have 2 questions that go along with this. 1. I imagine that winword could lock up and that would be a problem, right? 2. to save a document I use wordapp.ActiveDocument, this could have an issue as a shared object, right? I think I'm talking myself right out of this...
using asp.net 4 we do a lot of Word merges at work. rather than using the complicated conditional statements of Word i want to embed my own syntax. something like:
Dear Mr. { select lastname from users where userid = 7 }, Your invoice for this quarter is: ${ select amount from invoices where userid = 7 }.......
ideally, i'd like this to get turned into: string.Format("Dear Mr. {0}, Your invoice for this quarter is: ${1}", sqlEval[0], sqlEval[1]);
I have a problem which I have not been able to find an answer to in months. I store word doc resumes as varbinary(max). I can retrieve the resumes based on a full-text search - no problem. But the resumes are retrieved as word documents in a .ashx file with the following code. I really need to implement hit highlighting on the site so that users can see if the returned resume is a good fit or not. I don't think this can be done from an .ashx file, so I think I need to be able to open the resume as html in an aspx page and maybe use javascript to do the hit highlighting or perhaps return the text only content of the word document somehow and manipulate the text before display with html tags. I cant find anything anywhere which addresses the problem.
I wonder how you put in HTML code when you want one word to be in RED for example. Like my default color is White and then he words "This should be in RED" will be put in the color RED?

I have never used ASP before!I have a server which has a shared folder where all quotes for our small business are saved.I have setup a HTTPs website with authentication, which then allows you to browse the folder contents as HTML. If you WORD installed on your machine you can download and open. No need to be able to save or anything - it is for viewing only.
The trouble I have is that every now again you are on a site where you cannot open the document as there is no software to do so. I would like to be able to display the WORD doc in a web browser.I have googled and it seems it is possible, but I am struggling with a result. All I want to do is view the WORD document in an HTML page. It could even be just the text less the formatting and header/footer if this was easier to achieve.Running MS Server 2003 SBS, and currently still using MS Office 2000!
Is there a way to copy a html table to a word document but it has to be exactly like doing it manually. Because i found some solutions but none was the same as doing it manually.
I have a docx (also in pdf format) that i have to put up on a site. Well word completely junks it up I spent 4 hrs fixing one file and my next one is bigger.
The functionality works perfectly well in FireFox & IE when i checked in system testing envirenment(locally). However when in was moved on to hosting server(production environment) the functionality is not working in IE , however it is working perfectly in FireFox.
I am not sure on where to check the exact issue for. Will it be any caching related problem?.
In IE it is just not opening the download window which we will obtain when the rendered html content type is changed and response stream flushed. No exception is thrown.
I received the following response header :

System Info: .NET 3.5 and SQL Server 2008I am looking for a solution that can essentially open .doc files(from sql server database) on the web site and give the user full access to edit them. Then load them back to the sql server database as .doc's while retaining MS Word's format and spacing
