Iam working on a banking web application developed in asp.net 3.5 and MS SQL Server 2008.My problem is to create reports including some pre-formatted reports,summary reports and some detail reports.I want to know what is the best technique to create these reports.I don't want to use third party reporting tools as they have to be configured on the web server and some times they takes lot of time in generating reports due to their complex structure.Since its a web application having large recordsets so i need a consistent solution keeping in mind the performance and complex nature of the reports which might be demanded by the banks.Can anyone help me please in this regard?
using vb.net 2005 and crystal rpts.I have an iFieldObject on a report that I am using to display a signature line which looks ok except for one thing: the signature line needs to appear at the bottom of the object, how to do this?
In our current project we decided to use MS Reporting Services to display reports and export to PDF.
After solving many problems (btw. terrible product, who invented that data item can not be used in page header???) one left: client requirement is to put image (bank transfer form screen - about 10 cm height) on the bottom of last page - reporting services don't have 'report footer' - how can I achive this? There is a way to dynamic (code?) change page footer height and show image only in last page 'anchored' to bottom?
I have an web application with crystal report. The report are printing fine. But the problem is
i have applied page margin setting as
Top Margin 0.25 in
Left Margin 0.02 in
Bottom Margin 0.17 in
Right Margin 0.42 in
all are fine without Bottom Margin. Bottom Margin will come with more space without considering 0.17 in. I think that it may be happened that the detail section i have a rectangle box object. Inside this box have data from data base. I want to print this box as 3 times in a page with three records. all are fine.I adjested maxium to fit the box in details section to dispaly three times in a page. But when i wil get the print out the three box will come with 3 times. But after the three rectangle box ,the footer of the page will take some extra space.
I don't want to print pagefooter,page header,report header, report footer at all. i am suppressed these things.
I want to know why it is came with some more space on the footer.?
How to solve the issue?
And tell me the C#.Net code for pageHeader Suppress,report header suppress,report footer suppress,page footer
In SSRS 2005 I could select the header row of a table and in the properties window, expand the BorderStyle property and type Solid in the Bottom property and I would get a border at the bottom of the row containing my column headers. In SSRS 2008 I cannot do this. If I select the header row, the BorderColor, BorderStyle and BorderWidth properties do nothing when you expand them. If you try typing into them you get an error: "Property is not valid." So I selected the header textbox for one column and tried adding the bottom border to it, thinking that I might have to set each column individually, but the border does not appear for that column heading.
We have designed RDLC having tables and binding dynamic data to the tables, so that we can export it to PDF.
While binding the data to the table, if the cell content which we are binding to the table row is large and doesn't have enough space to fit in the page, then the table row is moved to next page and because of this we are able to see blank space at the bottom of the previous page.
For example, if there is a table in a page with 3 rows, if the 3rd row is huge and cannot fit into the the same page with other rows; the 3rd row is moved to the 2nd page. There is huge space after the first 2 rows in the first page because of this. ive tried resizing the details section but it didn work.
I have uploaded some reports on SharePoint from Reporting Services (visual studio). However, the connection string file ConnString.DS (well, ConnString.rsds) in sharepoint library where the rdl files are. It's open and readable to everyone. How do I hide this file. I dont want end user to read the conn string from here.
I developed an ASP.net 1.1 web application that is written in VS2203 and I am using Reporting Services 2005 to render some reports in PDF Format. My problem was it is working fine in local (XP) and Production environment (Windows 2003 Server).fromo long back the solution was not working for my integration Server which has windows 2003 Server (1.1) and we installed the 2.0,3.5 frameworks. It is throwing an Object refernce error while render the report. Is there any permisions or something missing.
I just have top Balance amout in DB which is 3605241. now I have to display the updated balance After debit or credit. I want to get the Previous Balance amount for addition/subtraction.How can I do it using Formula field?
I have 2 parameters 1. InvoiceNum: this is array of InvoiceNumbers and 2. CompanyNickName. A single string value Now when I am passing these parameters to report only 1st record is getting displayed and not others. Ideally no. of records should be equal to no. of InvoiceNums e.g. if there are 3 invoice no. it shoudl display all 3 invoices. here is relevant code
private void SetCurrentValuesforParameterField( ArrayList InvoiceNumList) ParameterFields param = new ParameterFields(); ParameterValues vals = new ParameterValues(); ParameterField parameterfield = new ParameterField(); foreach (object submittedValue in InvoiceNumList) ParameterDiscreteValue InvoiceDiscreteVal = new ParameterDiscreteValue(); ParameterValueKind.StringParameter; //ParameterField parameterfield1 = param; parameterfield =new ParameterField(); ParameterValueKind.StringParameter; ParameterDiscreteValue InvoiceDiscreteVal1 = new ParameterDiscreteValue(); new ParameterValues(); // CrystalReportViewer1.ParameterFieldInfo = param; } vals.Add(InvoiceDiscreteVal1); parameterfield.CurrentValues = vals; param.Add(parameterfield); InvoiceDiscreteVal1.Value = CompanyNickName; vals = parameterfield.Name = Parameter_Field_Name1;// 2nd Parameter CompanyNickName parameterfield.ParameterValueType = parameterfield.CurrentValues = vals; param.Add(parameterfield); }// End of Loop InvoiceDiscreteVal.Value = submittedValue.ToString(); vals.Add(InvoiceDiscreteVal); parameterfield.Name = Parameter_Field_Name; //1st Paramt name InvoiceNum parameterfield.ParameterValueType = ParameterDiscreteValue InvoiceDiscreteVal1 new ParameterDiscreteValue(); new ParameterValues(); // CrystalReportViewer1.ParameterFieldInfo = param; } vals.Add(InvoiceDiscreteVal1); parameterfield.CurrentValues = vals; param.Add(parameterfield); InvoiceDiscreteVal1.Value = CompanyNickName; vals = new ParameterValues(); // CrystalReportViewer1.ParameterFieldInfo = param; } vals.Add(InvoiceDiscreteVal1); parameterfield.CurrentValues = vals; param.Add(parameterfield);
I need to be able to update a record of datatype int, to null. So that in the DB (SQL Server) the record would change from, for example, 3 to NULL
I am using vb.net, and thought I would be able to use the following code on the Updating event of an ODS however it does not work. Can anyone advise? The error I get is 'Cannot convert value of parameter 'BID' from 'System.DBNull' to 'Nullable<System.Int32>''
I can display reports as pdf's through the code no problem but my aim is to be able to display multiple reportviewer reports in 1 pdf but even when I fill the memorystream with 2 lot's of reports, it still only displays one as a pdf.
A snippet of my code is below:
byte bytes = rptViewer.LocalReport.Render( "PDF", null, out mimeType, out encoding, out filenameExtension, out streamids, out warnings);
Im trying to write a query in SSMgmtS that will give me all the next run schedules for all of my reports. I have found the LastRunTime and LastStatus fields but I havent found the fields which shows the detailed schedule of the report. I am unable to link the Schedules table properly either.
