Feb 11, 2011I am calling a report from my ASP web app and was working perfectly, but now for some reason the report is coming up as blank and only shows the header section where it shows export, page numbers etc...The report works 100% direclty from reports and reportsmanager but not from my application - there are no errors to even guide me to solving it.At first i had reporting services 2005 and was having this problem and then i installed Reporting services 2008 and hosted the report on there but i am still getting the same problem.....very frustrating!!Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this??
This might be a clue: this app is on my clients pc and i installed VS2010 on the pc so i can try troubleshoot this but when i open the app VS2010 tells me it is setup to use framework 2.0, strange cause before this problem i opened it in vs2010 and was in framwework 4.0 - but now ifi go to the build dropdown it does not give me the option to select framework 4.0 - just goes up to 3.5??the app was originally created in VS2005 then I upgraded it to vs2010.........it could be possible that there is aconflict with the report viewer on the webpage conflicting somewhere???the app still works 100%(except for reporting) on IIS using framework 4.0 so it is still on the PC..please help - my client is unable to use the app without the printing and i am getting desperate!!Here are the hardware and software details:
-Windows 7 Pro
-IIS 7
-framework 2, 3.5 and 4
-ASP.net 4 Web app developed in VS2010
-DB on SQL 2005 exp adv
-also have SQL2008 exp adv installed

Jun 21, 2010I'm currently working on a project that will allow users to do the following:. Choose one or more reports from the report library.2. Cycle through each report, choosing the parameter values to use to run each report.3. Generate a pdf containing all of the reports in one large file.4. Download the pdf.I'm handling 1, 3, and 4 just fine but running into some problems with item 2. The multi-select parameters are giving me headaches. Basically I want a page that contains the parameter selection piece of the standard SSRS web interface but instead of "View Report" it would fire off a function I've created that saves the parameter values and then reloads the page for the next report in the list chosen by the userDoes anyone know if the Report.aspx source code is available somewhere? I'm currently using a PopupControlExtender, CheckboxList, and Textbox to try and mimic the functionality of the multi-select parameter interface that's provided by SSRS but am having trouble getting the page to postback when the user clicks outside the list
of parameter values (the default SSRS interface does this).

Sep 2, 2010I have a web page that displays some data. When they click a submit button, I want to run a report. But I would like to pass the start year/month and end year/month values that the user already entered on the web page to the report. Here is what my url looks like when the report is displayed:

But my report displays the 2 textboxes for my StartYYMM and EndYYMM parameters as empty. What am I doing wrong? I did a google search and I saw something about using ReportServer instead of ReportManager. I notice at the top of the browser when I run my report, it reads "Report Manager - Windows Internet Explorer". Is this correct?

Jan 26, 2010I am developing a report with almost 25 columns table and the width of the report is 20pt. But I am changing the visibility of a few columns in run-time so that the resultant width will fit in one page (11pt)(I checked all the margins and resultant width of table. Sum of all the widths are with in the pagesize only).
Everything is working fine when i check the report in browser, but when i try to Export to PDF there are alternate white pages, which are corresponding to the hidden columns width i guess.
How to achieve PDF Export without white pages? Also, is there any way to shrink the report to a single page?

Jun 8, 2010I am working with SSRS reports .I have one report called AllOrderDails with Order_No, Order_Date, Project_Name, Boiler_Name, RefNo, Total_NoItems, Total_GrossWeight, Expected_Date .It shows all order Details ,when i click Order_No it shows another report called OrderDetails.It shows only single Order_No details....In OrderDetails page i am using one textbox for back .It is for going back to AllOrderdetails.
My problem is when i click Order_No in AllOrderDetails page it's show OrderDetails page withrelated Order_No,when i click back it goes to AllOrderDetails Page but It's not displaying any data...

Mar 24, 2011I have upgraded web application from VS.2008 to vs 2010. I was using previously ReportViewer 2008 control in a page and replaced with 2010 ReportViewer Control.
I have installed the ReportViewer Redistributable also in my local pc as well as in the server. Also as per the new requirement I have placed the Scriptmanager in the web page where the reportviewer control located.
While running the page, the reportviewer run the report and is not showing the data on the screen. It shows the blank screen. But If I export the data to execl or world it is showing the data. Also the page numbers in the reportviewer showing the total pages available in the navigation bar. I am sure the report is running and bringing the data to the screen but not showing it.

Nov 29, 2010I've created a ssrs report using cube and i drag and drop the columns in the ssrs report and it works fine.Issue arise when i would like to update the mdx query. If i modify the mdx and try to save then it pops up a window with a message -"If you modify the MDX statement associated with this query and then return to design mode, your changes will be lost."After this message my changes get lost.Pls let me know how to make the changes in the MDX after designing a ssrs report.

Jan 19, 2010am doing some work for a group that has a very old version of SSRS, VS.NET, and SQL Server deployed, and for reasons that are beyond my ability to influence, upgrading to later version(s) of the tools simply is not an option. I wish it were.In this environment, I have prepared a report in the designer for VS.NET 2003. This report renders perfectly in the "Preview" tab in the IDE; yet, when I attempt to view this report via the browser in HTML, the rendering is entirely corrupt and unusable. I added that version's "Report Viewer" control (which was then deployed only as an project within the sample projects), to a sample page and viewed the report through that control, but the rendering is no different; it's still unusable.My question is this: Since the report displays properly in the "Preview" page within the IDE, can that functionality be integrated into a conventional browser page? The preview does me no good if I can't deliver a live page with the same rendering.
Believe me, I would love/prefer/desire to upgrade to the latest version of everything, but I simply have zero influence over that element of this project. I have to use what they provide: Sql Server 2000, VS.NET 2003, and SSRS for SQL Server 2000. Yup, there are cobwebs everywhere

Mar 8, 2011I am very new to the SSRS arena and have not yet developed any reports with this. I'm creating a website which requires reporting...as new reports are developed within SSRS, how do those suddenly appear in the asp.net application for selection by a user? I like to have the ability for an administrator to create new reports and allow the ASP.net application to somehow offer it dynamically as a selection. Keep in mind, some of the reports may require input parameters...those parameters would also need to be displayed from the asp.net application also.
Can this be done dynamically some how or does it require actual coding is needed to the website, every time new reports are introduced in order to display the report along with the parameters needed?

Jan 3, 2011We have a requirement of using SSRS for rendering the reports using ReportViewer control. We are aware of the fact that SSRS requires Windows Authentication, but my requirement is to provide access to all the users stored in a database table who provide valid credentials to access the SSRS report via web page and report viewer cotrol.
We are following the below steps.
1) Create a dummy windows level user say "dummy".
2) Provide "Browser" permissions to the "dummy" user.
3) Set Impersonation = true for the "dummy" user in the web.config file of the custom website that uses the ReportViewer control.
4) Follow all the required steps to configure the reportviewer control for accessign the SSRS report
After following all the above steps we are successfully able to access the SSRS report on the internet facing website without any Windows authentication popup.
P.S. We dont want to implement a Custom extension for implementing forms authentication.
