we save the images in database and read the file to show on web front. The problem is some of the images fails to be shown on the page. but if we right click and choose show image, it is shown again. is it because of database timeout ?

now i have to show these photo in a gridview according to the candidates rollno. i am trying to use the imagefield of a gridview control to display the photo but it is not displaying the photo in a grid view
I have SQL Server database entry LastCheck of datatype DateTime.
By first save it is no value, so it is NULL. LastCheck is configured to allow nulls.
What should I insert in my statement? How to initialise LastCheck in code? Should I convert DateTime to null?? I can't do just LastCheck = null, because it is from DateTime value.

i did this code to upload file and displaying it in the image:

the code works good. the file is uploaded under my website here in the solution explorer: now after uploading the file,the newly uploaded file is shown in the image(since there were a few more images present in the same location but they were not shown by the image) i used this url to the imageurl:
ResolveUrl("~")
which returns me this:

now my question is why the newly uploaded image is shown in the image? there were several other images present at the same location and even i have not used something in my code that tells to show only the newly added image from my website into the image.
I have an aspx page that loads a static graphic and put session strings in it. I used Image1.Save(Server.MapPath("gen_img2.jpg"), ImageFormat.Jpeg), but it's not saved on the server. I thought this was a user permission problem, so I assigned the ASPNET account write permission to the folder, and it still doesn't work. Did I use the wrong account? I use winserver 2003 and IIS 6.

how to read content information from a saved image in SQL image column. I do not want to read the image and display it I know how to do that, what I am trying to accomplish is read the content of that images already saved in the SQL image field, for instance I have a saved image (.JPG, .GIF, PNG, BMP etc) that contains customer demographic information such as (name,address,phone etc) and also contains sensitive data such as (SSN, DOB etc) I just want to retrieve the demographic information and display it on the screen leaving out the sensitive data.

my user will use form authentication against Active Directory or database. Theres no Windows Integrated Authentication there!!
What i want is when the user submit the authentication form, it will try to validate the user against Active Directory and if it fail, try with the database.
How can i do that? What i had in mind was to build a custom membership provider that will encapsulate the logic but im not sure how to start.
