Mar 21, 2011I wanna make a test to verify if a date is between 2 dates,but something is wrong.
My test is to verify if the day 29 is between 28-5.

SELECT Count(VisitId) as VisitCount, Convert(varchar(32), VisitDateTime, 101) as VisitDate
FROM Visits
WHERE VisitDateTime BETWEEN '10/1/2010' AND '10/5/2010'
GROUP BY VisitDate
The problem I am trying to overcome is that if there were no visits in a given day, that day does not show in my list. For example, if there were 3 visits on the 1st, 2 on the 2nd, none on the 3rd, and 5 on the 4th, my result set would look like:
3, 10/1/2010
2, 10/2/2010
4, 10/4/2010
How can I create my query so that I get all days in the date range listed in the result set regardless of whether the VisitCount is zero?

Feb 1, 2011I'm looking to find out the most efficient pseudo-code in order to achieve the following conditions:
I have an "event" which has a start and an end date (S1, S2). I am try to find out if this even occurs within a specific timeframe (D1, D2). If the event only lasts for one day, it will not have an end date. I only want one occurance of the event in the query.
If anybody is able to assist with tbe psuedo code behind such a query, I'd be grateful.
It's for use within a LINQ query.

Mar 15, 2010I am using a ReportViewer control on a aspx page. It is using a dataset and one of the fields is Date. The dataset's source is an object datasource. User selects startdate/enddates and other params, they are given to the object datasource, the datasource returns all the rows using a stored procedure, so the dataset is now populated. But the dataset has just one date field.
My problem - I want to display the start date and end dates on the report header. Right now - it just keeps the last value (end date).

But I am alwayws getting dt as {1/1/0001 12:00:00 AM} , Can you tell me why ? and how can I convert that string to date.
EDIT:
I just saw everybody mentioned to use format argument. I will mention now that I can't use the format parameter as I have some setting to select the custom dateformat what user wants, and based on that user is able to get the date in textbox in that format automatically via jQuery datepicker.

Sep 30, 2010I have got a page in which there is a file upload option where I have to upload/import the csv file. What I want to do is to check if the correct format of file is uploaded for instance if any other than csv file is uploaded, the system should give an error message. Also what I need to do is to check certain fields of the csv file for instance there are some mandatory fields in the csv file which should be there like name , postcode, How can I check that these fields are not empty . After performing these task, the system should automatically upload the csv file onto the sql sever 2008.

Jan 14, 2011When a user selects an item from dropdownlist ,, certain dates (from DB) gets selected on Calendar automatically with the color pink >> This is working FINE The problem happens after that, when i want to select any other date >> the dates which were selected automatically before (that came from DB) get deselected !! I want them to stay selected, so i know which are the dates that already saved in DB ! So, the calendar is removing the programmed selected dates upon selecting a new date on the calendar object.

Nov 4, 2010I need some pointers to start on this.We are building a time off application where three instances of a calendar control will be displayed ( prev - current and next month) now users can click on various dates accross all three instances and then a count of number of days should be diaplyed in the parent textbox.
To begin with this, i started with adding the dates clicked by the user in Calendar2_SelectionChanged method into a list<> so that i can get the all dates user clicked and then add it to calander's selected dates collection. But this throws an e" object reference not set" error.
Is there anyother way to get all the dates that user click onthe calendar( note the dates doesn't get highlighed so seleteddates doesnt work)does anyone has a good example for this.
