SQL Server :: Change The Form Authentication To Internet/ Getting An Error?
Aug 31, 2010
I am working on Login control and I am new in ASP.NET. So far what I did is :
1. In Website->ASP.NET Configuration I change the form authentication to internet.
2. I created a user profile
3. This gave me a ASPNETDB.mdf database.
4. I added this code :
[Code]....Stack Trace:
[Code]....
[SqlException (0x80131904): Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to failure in retrieving the user's local application data path. Please make sure the user has a local user profile on the computer. The connection will be closed.] System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) +4849015 [code]....
Just going to start making a web application and was wondering which was better, or at least what are the main differences between them (as it probably matters what I am using them for)?
we host a database for several users. We allow the users to host the login form on their own server. The form calls an ASP page that we host, which executes a stored procedure to authenticate the user.
We are in the process of moving to ASP.net. The "Forms" authentication method appears to only work if the login page is hosted locally. Is there a way to use Forms Authentication & allow the login form itself to be on a different server. I'm looking for a tutorial somewhere that will get me pointed in the right direction
At my work I have 2 logins, my main login "mike", and another one that we use to login into servers to manage applications, user "tech_mike"
On my machine I am logged in as "mike", I published the web-application to the server (through FTP). I RDP into the server using "tech_mike", and setup the application in IIS (create app, disable basic authentication and set windows authentication for the app)
Now when I want to test the application from my computer (user logged in "mike"), in the browser I type the link to the app [URL] and it tells me that I am not authorized. In the logs I can see that it is trying to login as "tech_mike", even though the user that I am logged in from my computer is "mike".
If I try to open the app on my local machine (local IIS), it is using the correct user "mike"
If someone else (another developer, he has "tech_user" account also) opens the app on the server: [URL] then he is able to login because it takes the correct user that is logged in into windows (not the "tech_user" account).
It seems only I have this problem because I connected through RDP (using different user) to setup the application in IIS on the server.
This is happening on all apps on the server that are using Windows Authentication, IIS (I think) somehow replaces my user "mike" with "tech_mike"
I have a database which has form authentication tables for an website [let say website A], now I have attached a new website [Website B] to the same database, in this website [Website B] also I have to provide login/authentication which would be separate from the website A authentication system. So I want to have separate table for the users of new website. Specification:
[code]....
will there be any open source membership provider like we have .NET membership provider [form authentication].
I have a web farm web project, and want to make sure windows authentication is working well without any problem in web farm, can any one give me some web sites or information about that?
I needed information regarding the capabilities & integration of AzMan tool with Asp.net.Currently, I got a Sharepoint 2007 website along with ASP.NET 2008 where I am using Form Based Authenication. Now, the requirement is any user within a domain registered in AD should be able to login in website through intranet.
Can I acheive this using AzMan, or I need to create two websites one with FBA for internet users and the other one for the intranet users with AD authenication. Also my intenet website is deployed and in use where usermapping and roles are already created, so using this tool what will be the impact on existing webiste.
I have an intranet site that i set up to windows authentication. It works fine most of the time but some departments wont be able to access the site and will be asked to enter user name and password.I checked their Active Directory account and the only difference i could see was that the organizational unit parameter was different than the rest of the users.
The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required.I get it when I use the GetReponse() method in WebRequest Dim request As WebRequest = WebRequest.Create(getNextURL()) Dim httpResponse As HttpWebResponse = CType(request.GetResponse(), HttpWebResponse)
This code is working fine in my local system but when i upload it on server then it gives this error. From the last 1 year it was working fine but from last few days it gives me above said error, please suggest me is there any authentication required to send mail from server (my hosting plan is with 1and1.com)
while i was using sql server authentication, it was running a quite good but suddenly it starts showing an error 'Login Failed for user sa'
Here is my error-Login failed for user 'sa'.
Description:An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
Exception Details: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Login failed for user 'sa'.
I have a simple form written in asp.net/C# and when trying to hit enter while in the form's input box doesn't submit the form for some reason. I had implemented a fix for a previous bug where pressing enter would merely refresh the page without submitting the form data but now pressing enter just does nothing, the fix is below:
I got exception at line Object obj = entry.NativeObject; and error message is: Invalid dn syntax specified. how can i take a right dn syntax? I tried some domain name such as: LDAP://localhost:389, [URL], ... but I still get this error
I'm very much a newbie to ASP.Net and am getting the "a page can only have one server-side form tag" error. I have searched the internet for clues, but my understanding (or lack of) means I can't adapt other peoples solutions to resolve my problem. My master page has the following code:
I have my WCF Service and Client working perfectly on the intranet.I deployed the same service/client on our IIS server exposed over the internet. This service, i am able to access perfectly from my workstatation, using the internet site (the .com address) However, when accessing the same .com site using a computer not connected to our network, it's giving me the dreaded "The HTTP request is unauthorized with client authentication scheme 'Negotiate'. The authentication header received from the server was 'Negotiate, NTLM'" when accessing the Service
Other Info: The client authenticates me. When the client is accessing the WCF Service, i get the error.
Client Web.Config:
<system.serviceModel> <bindings>[code]....
I didn't really need to specify the port. Also, i added this in the code-behind
Dim wcfService = New WCFServiceProxy.myserviceClient() wcfService.ClientCredentials.Windows.AllowedImpersonationLevel = System.Security.Principal.TokenImpersonationLevel.Impersonation
I have just installed SQL Server 2005. I selected windows mode authentication. I am not able to login in management studion. Now, I want to use mixed and server authentication option inplace of windows authentication. so, would that be possible after installation.
When installing Sql Server 2005 i configured both windows authentication and sqlserver authentication, and i am able to connect with both sqlserver authentication and windows authentication in msserver management studio.
when i test this page http://www.catalogues4u.com.au/ViewCategory.aspx?catID=119 im getting the above error. to replicate this issue visit the above page in ie7 and you will get the prompt.
i was working on one of the project as it is working fine in Firefox but it is giving the javascript exception in internet explorer.Errror: Error says "s" is undefined in the s.currencyCode="USD" line but "s" is defined in the external javascript file s_code.js
when i browse the page with firefox and click on the input Request.Params["btnshoppingCart"] != null or Request.Form["btnshoppingCart"] != null is statisfied.
When i browse the same page with internet explorer 8 and click on the same input Request.Params["btnshoppingCart"] != null or Request.Form["btnshoppingCart"] != null is not satisfied. When i used the watch i saw that there is no key by the name of "btnshoppingCart" in either Request.Form or Request.Params if input is clicked from internet explorer. However when it is clicked from firefox there is value "shoppingCart" inside Request.Form and Request.Params against "btnshoppingCart" key. One more strange thing that i observed was that are two keys "btnshoppingCart.x" and "btnshoppingCart.y" inside both Request.Form and Request.Params whenver clicking is done from both internet explorer and firefox. This is happening against all inputs of type image irrespective if the input is present inside a html form or not. Forms are created like this
<% using (Html.BeginForm("Action", "Controller", FormMethod.Post)){%>
The version of internet explorer is 8.0 and firefox is 3.6.6
