View 4 RepliesSql server 2005 is already installes in my machine.., i want to use SSIS now.where can i download SSIS package as add on to sql server 2005.
View 5 RepliesCreated SSIS package, it runs fine I import it into Stored packages in Integration Services, I right click and click "Run Package" it runs fine Create a new job to run the package and I get errors
The package runs an Execute Package task. That seems to be where the errors occur. But it runs fine in all circumstances except from a "job".
Note: ALL THE ERRORS ARE IN TASKS THAT CONNECT TO A REMOTE SERVER.

SSIS package is running successfully and the db table is not populating in sql server.I am using csv file to populate datas to database tables.
I am using flat file source and oledb destination in data flow in ssis.
I'm trying to run my SSIS packages as a step inside a sql agent job. This runs normally when the package uses the SAME database as used to create my job.The problem occurs if I create a job to run the package and this package must execute queries in another database. Probably authentication problem. So how to authenticate my package and the job runs normally ?

View 1 RepliesI'm looking for any and all information on how to execute an SSIS package from my asp.net web site. I have written the call and when I run the application from (Localhost) it works, but when I run it from the server it does not.
Here is my code to call and execute the package:
[Code]....
Again this works from my local machine running from localhost, but not from our live server. I have turned on impersination to see if that worked and still getting the same result. The file is written successfully to the server without issue, but I'm just lost.
I need to create SSIS Package for Microsoft tool preweblog utility.exe to modify the IIS LogFiles.
View 1 RepliesI want to ask the following:
Does anyone have an example of some code which executes an SSIS package from a ASP.NET web app using VB.NET?
I have built a web application and want to be able to execute the SSIS package when the user clicks a button on the web page.
So far I have:
[code]....
I need to know how to set this up so it runs remotely. I have searched MSDN (useless), [URL] and sqlservercentral.
I'm a having a problem in passing the value of a variable from child package to the parent package in SSIS. either using configurations or using scripting (c# or vb.net)..

View 6 RepliesI am using Visual Studio 2010 Release candidate1. I have to deploy my web application which consists of a website, certain window services, certain WCF services and Sql Server 2005 database.I read Vishal Joshi's blog(http://vishaljoshi.blogspot.com/2009/09/overview-post-for-web-deployment-in-vs.html) detaing Web Package in VS2010. I want to know how to deploy window services and WCF services using Web Package. Also, I want to create a web setup (.msi) for deployment instead of Web Package so that the .msi takes care of all the application and database deployment like the web package does.
View 1 RepliesI need to load and execute SSIS or DTS packages ASYNCHRONOUSLY from ASP.NET C# page on click of a button and report the success or failure at the end of the execution and if it fails the details of the exception should be shown to the user. it needs to be asynchronous because job could take a long time to finish. user should also be able to cancel the execution of the package while it is running if he wishes to do so. there is also requirement to execute multiple packages in parallel and track the progress for each of them. is this possible to achieve OR too complicated to do it from ASP.NET?
View 4 Repliess it possible to execute a SSIS package in C# Code ? We can process cube using the namespace "Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient". What will be namespace/method to be used for executing a package/task, if possible? This considers Script Task too, in SSIS.
View 2 RepliesI have got a SSIS Package running every 2 hours. It collects data from different DBs and updates the DB of my ASP.Net Application. Everything goes smooth, but the asp.net application is still using the old data, it has the data somehow cached. If I just open save the web.config, it empties the cache and uses the updated new data. How can I make sure, that the app empties the cache after SSIS Package finished successfully?
View 1 Repliesi am having a problem in executing the SSIS package through an asp.net application. i'm using c#. every time i run the package through web, i think the package is not disposed properly so until and unless i stop the application the package won't execute...i am not able to dispose or unload the package. i'm geeting errors like

The short story is, I'm developing an SSIS package to select from a remote Oracle database (read: no Windows Authentication) and store into an SQL Server db. I can execute the package just fine in development and after importing, but when I run it as a scheduled job, I get an ora-01017 error (bad un/pw). The details are, I built this package and tested in in BIDS but came across the problem that BIDS really doesn't save the password I'd set for the Oracle connection. After poking around a bit, I found this
[URL] which showed how to create an XML configuration which the package could then read. Fiddled around with that, got it working in BIDS. Connected to Integration Services on the server on which I want to run the package, imported it, right-clicked and did the "Run Package" option as a test, it works great. However, when I connect to the same server's Database Engine to create and schedule a job, I cannot connect to Oracle. For some reason, it seems as if the package is not reading the configuration when run in schedule.
I've tried removing the job and re-working it, thinking maybe it didn't pick up the new version when I re-imported the package. A new job had the same problem. Next, I tried re-naming the .dtsConfig and doing the "Run Package" option as a test. Failed with the same error. A bit surprised, I thought I'd get some kind of file error and we wouldn't get as far as trying to talk to Oracle. Anyway, thinking maybe it's permissions on the configuration, fixed the .dtsConfig name and gave full access to Everyone. That ought to let the Agent see it. Scheduled up the job, still can't talk to Oracle. So it seems as if the scheduled version is ignoring the configuration. Anyone have any idea what I'm missing, that scheduling an SSIS package makes it act differently than running it manually? BTW, the instance under which we're running the package is VS 2005. BIDS 2005 to build the package.
Ive created an SSIS package (vs2005, so vb.net only) One of the tasks has to unzip a zip file. To do this ive used java.util.zip library and written some code to unzip the file. Ive just been asked if its possible to use something other than a java library as our network engineers dont want to put the this on our server. Is there anything similar to java.util.zip that I can use in a vs2005 package ?

View 3 RepliesI have setup a webservice that returns an array of Transaction objects (Transaction being a custom class I created). Each Transaction object has a range of properties (strings, dates etc) and a couple of other embedded objects. I have tested this from another asp.net application and I can consume the webservice fine and access all the objects etc. This webservice is returning Transaction objects that will be loaded into a database on the client side. The objects all come back in an array from the webservice, which needs to be handled via SSIS 2008 and loaded into a database on the client side. The question is, how do you configure the SSIS package to read and handle the incoming array and the custom objects within?
View 1 RepliesI got VS2010 and SQL Server 2008 R2 64bit installed on a Windows Server 2008 R2, I need to execute a SSIS package from ASP.NET. From the research most people uses DTS, but it seems DTS does not support for 64bit, does anyone have a way make it working without using DTS?
View 1 RepliesI'm having my first experience with Web Services with .Net. I received from a client an integration manual to consume a web service they have.
In this manual I have the following information:
Request Interface: [URL]
Using SOAP request would return a XML Document with the response.
WSDL: [URL]
Request XML:
[Code]....
There's also XSD for the response XML.
Well, I'm having a little trouble trying to figure out how to consume this web service.
I found a topic here pointing to a MSDN article. There it says that I would have to add a Web Reference for this web service, but in my case this web service is external. Do I really have to add this reference to consume the web service? If yes how do I do that?
Next I have to create the XML Document that will be sent with the SOAP request. But here's a question. Searching on the internet I found mainly two types of request XML. I don't know wich one I should use.
The first one would be:
[Code]....
The second one is a XML file with soap:Body, soap:Header, soap:Envelope, etc.
Wich one should I create with my application in order to consume the web service? If it's the second one, how would look the XML for the data of the first XML?
And finally, how do I send the Soap request? As I said above, I found a MSDN article but it assumes I'm adding a web reference to the web service on my project and I belive that in my case I won't add this reference. So, how do I consume this web service?
I'm kind of lost here and really really soon I will have to estimate how long will take to develop the web service consume code.
I have to create web service from which i do want to call SSIS package
View 2 RepliesToday I started playing with the web.config transforms in VS 2010. To begin with, I attempted the same hello world example that features in a lot of the blog posts on this topic - updating a connection string.
I created the minimal example shown below (and similar to the one found in this blog). The problem is that whenever I do a right-click -> "Publish", or a right-click -> "Build Deployment Package" on the .csproj file, I'm not getting the correct output. Rather than a transformed web.config, I'm getting no web.config, and instead the two transform files are included.
What am I doing wrong?

Im trying to build a deployment package out of VS2010 against a web project and want to include all IIS settings as configured in IIS Manager. However when i enable this i get the following error message
Object of type 'manifest' and path
[code]...
Now this error makes very little sense as the specified application does exist in Default Web Site. I've checked the spelling. I've tried having ISV as a virtual directory and as an Application and tried with and without the ISV folder.
On the Web page i hae the Project URL set to [URL] On the Package/Publish tab IIS web site name is set to "Default Web Site/ISV/Web.Crm.Framework/"
Bing/Google search turn up very little on this and the documentation is not really detailed enough.
