I have a drive 'F' with 40G free space. I try to restore a database whose data + log file size is 60G.
The restore fails. Is it because a full restore needs free disk space of 60G in this case?

I have been struggling to import my .bak files into my sql server database. I have contacted the hosting copany who say it is just not possible.
This is all new to me, but I find it hard to believe, otherwise, why would I have been supplied .bak files in the first place?

Selected FROM : RM ( empty database that i just created)
Selected TO : RM.bak (my backup file)

I used SQL SERVER 2008 R2 express as my web development database and I set its compatibility level to 2005. Unfortunately this database cannot be be attached to SQL server 2005. Are there any other options?

They dont support full text search and now my website is not working properly. what change should i make in my stored procedures that they work same as they work with full text. what is alternative to full text search. I tried using LIKE but it doesnt work same way.

I've created a .bak file of the database to restore it on the new server however the interface has facility for restoring database and can not restore remotely through sql server management studio. I could import data from the original database to the new one but that doesn't copy the primary keys? I have to automate one database process in .Net web applicaiton which uses Oracle 11g Database as Backend.
I need to know two things:
(1) How to check space on Oracle database server? I need space on server and not in the Database itself. My process creates few tables so I want to make sure that we have sufficient space before the process starts.
(2) Also I need to create script to backup Indexes and Triggers on the table so that I can recreate them after data transfer process is completed. Any idea how to create script form c# code?
